The other thread about do you miss out on reading to your kids at night just had me wondering.

DD1's current favourites are "Laura's Star' and 'Pumpkin Soup'.

My favourite to read to her is 'The Baby Who Wouldn't Go to Bed'.

I'm also reading her bits of Wind in the Willows but she keeps either falling aslep or saying 'all finished'!!

What are your kids current favs and what is your fav to read to them?

DD2's favourites are 'Sharing a shell' lovely book. 'to catch a star' not that fond of it myself and 'suggle down sleeply ones (I think thats the name lol) beautiful book about going to sleep.

My dds are 8 and 7 and we are reading "The Turbulent Term of Tyke Tiler" by Gene Kemp, which I had read aloud to me when I was at school. We are all really enjoying it (a chapter a night).

Previous reads include Wolf Brother and Spirit Walker by Michelle Paver, and I have the Peppermint Pig (Nina Bawden) lined up for next week.

Wiull make a list of the ones that appeal to me and get them for DD, and me. Sharing a shell sounds nice. How old is your DD2 Sparklygothkat? (mine is 4.5 btw)

Recently finished Flat Stanley. DD is also enjoying Naughty Ameilia Jane and My Naughty Little Sister - they take me back to childhood too. Oh, and she has a couple of Enid Blyton books with short stories in - some about a Mr Twiddle - whoch she really enjoys. DD is 4y1m.

Thomcat · 28/05/2006 23:28

really struggled tonight....was bit hungover Shock so extra emotional and had to pause loads to gather myself to get to the end (he sits on my lap so couldn't see the tears rolling down my face. it's the fact that the little snail saves the whale. and that the world is so big and she is so small. but she saves the whale. oh god, i'm off.

CD -0 new addition is bloody fab. what a great kid. Smies loads, hardly cries. cute folds in legs, lights up when she sees her big sis, doesn't get much better. She's slotted into life so easily it's scary, I worry i'll forget her. She really is lovely, for now anyway! Grin
