Book giveaway - what am I doing wrong?!

So here I am at 7pm with my first bookclub email - poised to fill out a form...

and all the links for each book either go to amazon (for the blurb) or to a mumsnet review page with "This form is currently private and cannot be viewed by the general public" at the bottom...

... am I doing something wrong? Clicking wrong? I was so ready to get a free book!

Why do I not get the newsletter??

First of all big apologies for the delay in opening the forms last night. There was a glitch which we rectified and hopefully this shouldn't happen again. We're listening to all your ishoos and concerns about how the book giveaways work and are going to figure out a system which we'll put into practice next month which we hope will be more convenient and ensure everyone has a chance to access the books. This said, do bear in mind that 250 people will be getting free books this month so it's not all bad

With regard to receiving the newsletter; make sure you're signed up to receive the bookclub newsletter, check that we have the right email address for you and also check your spam and junk folders in case it's been filtered.

As soon as we have a concrete plan as to how it's going to work next month, we'll post guidelines up here.

I think I am signed up for the newsletter too but I haven't received it.

But I have received a copy of Night Waking this month - so I don't want to appear too ungrateful

I've tried to get to the form it there's a note saying 'This form is currently private and cannot be viewed by the public' I'm logged into Mumsnet. The is the first time I've tried to do. What am I doing wrong?

Are we allowed to fill in a form for more than one book?

I've clicked on every link in the email and still get the message that this form is currently private and cannot be viewed by the public. I'm still logged into Mumsnet and am signed up for the books email. What else should I do?

Is there any chance the forms could go live at another time of day - say, later than 7pm? I'm always dealing with the joy that is persuading my DC to go to bed then and can't multitask enough to fill in forms then too.

So, what's the etiquette on applying for more than 1 book? I have done this and assumed that if I got one, then MNHQ would play fair and not let me have another one. Are my assumptions correct? And would we already have an email if we'd got lucky this month?

I applied for more than one book, on the assumption that I might get one of them.

Perhaps a fairer way would be to have one form where we put our choice in order of preference, so that everyone who applies only gets one book although it might not be their first choice (a bit like applying for a school place!) :)
