...could we start one?

I know there are loads of GH fans on here, so what do you think?

OP posts:
IAmSherlocked · 13/04/2012 16:09

I love GH and have done since a teenager - am up for discussions of the Regency romances but not bothered about her other stuff, tbh. Black Moth would be an interesting one to start with.

WillowInGloves · 13/04/2012 16:32

Ooh, Cousin Kate - one I don't have! [heads for Amazon ...]
Am happy to do chronological and start with Black Moth.

Started the Corinthian last night! :-)

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 13/04/2012 16:54

Shall we do chronological order then? Seems the easiest.

How long are we going to allow to read each book? Please bear in mind that I am currently finding myself falling asleep on the sofa with exhaustion before 10pm, so I don't get very much reading time! :)

1 per week? 1 per fortnight?

IAmSherlocked · 13/04/2012 17:00

Fortnight is fine for me but we need other opinions!

LadyDamerel · 13/04/2012 17:05

Chronological order it is then!

I haven't read Black Moth so it's a good excuse to add to my collection.

Shall we say a fortnight to begin with but if people are struggling to finish in time then we'll extend it?

Oo will buy them!

Right, so chronological it is, starting at Black Moth. Shall we say 2 weeks from Monday to review so people have time to buy it?

DilysPrice · 13/04/2012 17:50

Right! Chronological order! Black Moth! Monday 30th April!

(Heyers are filed in loft conversion, hence this book club will keep me fit)

"Clad in his customary black and silver, with raven hair unpowered and elaborately dressed, diamonds on his fingers and in his cravat, Hugh Tracy Clare Belmanoir, Duke of Andover, sat at the escritoire in the library of his town house, writing.......

BTW, we mean chronologically by publication, not date of the action don't we? Because Black Moth would be first by both counts.

LadyDamerel · 13/04/2012 17:55

Grin at all the control freaks organised folk on here.

Shall we have a separate thread to actually discuss each one on?

OP posts:
DilysPrice · 13/04/2012 18:08

I'd vote separate threads because otherwise it would be a bore for someone who joins the party late to go back and find "what did they think if Powder and Patch?"

Yey! Have ordered it :-D

so excited :-D

IAmSherlocked · 13/04/2012 18:44

OK...

Black Moth.
Monday 30th April.
Separate threads for each book.
Chronological order by publication.

WyrdMother · 13/04/2012 18:57

It's been a long time, the teenaged day dreams I used to have about Hugh Claire Tracey Belmanoir (early manifestation of a bad boy thing).

LadyDamerel · 13/04/2012 18:59

::pins Secretary badge to Sherlock's lapel::

Would you like to start the new thread now? Would that help you sleep tonight? Wink

OP posts:
IAmSherlocked · 13/04/2012 19:03

But, but, if we start the new thread now, the swots super-keen readers will start discussing it straight away and then it will all descend into chaos Shock

Grin
LadyDamerel · 13/04/2012 19:05

But if we don't there may be people who would like to join in but didn't realise what to read and when and where to be...

Oh the dilemma.

::frets::

OP posts:
minipie · 13/04/2012 19:13

Ooh a Georgette Heyer appreciation thread. Can I join please?

I reckon I can discuss the Black Moth without having to re-read it since I've already re-read it a gazillion times along with most of the others Grin

DilysPrice · 13/04/2012 19:20

It will be filed under Adult Fiction, and it will start on Monday 30th of April.
There - that's easy to find isn't it? There don't ever seem to be more than a handful of threads started in Adult Fiction per day; it's not exactly AIBU.

CoffeeRevel · 13/04/2012 19:25

yay! Me too, me too! I love GH, and have all of her books as pdfs on my reader, but I haven't read some of them in ages. Black Moth it is then, I just hope I remember to look for the thread at the end of the month!

RosieMBanks · 13/04/2012 20:50

Love GH and have most of her books! This is a great site...

and 'The Black Moth' is available to read for free online.
