Cam · 29/01/2006 20:47

Posey I'm halfway through Saturday, its great, Ian McEwan's best book so far I think. Won't say more as I don't want to spoil it for you. Let me know what you think when you're reading it...

Posey · 29/01/2006 20:55

Cam, will do.

tamum · 29/01/2006 20:55

That's interesting Cam- I did quite like Saturday but thought it was nowhere near as good as his other recent books.

Cam · 29/01/2006 21:02

There's 2 different points of view for you to be going on with Posey.......

tamum · 29/01/2006 21:34
Smile
Posey · 29/01/2006 21:51

Will let you know!
Have to finish "Sex and other Changes" first

sansouci · 29/01/2006 22:11

Adore the nickname "oldandfat"!

Most enjoyed The Way I Found Her by Rose Tremain so far this year. Am now working on Feb issue of Vanity Fair & a very thick book about some criminal on the run in India. Can't remember the name. Was ashamed of myself for rather enjoying the Undomestic Godess. Read it quickly w/out breaking the spine(then exchanged it for something else.

brimfull · 29/01/2006 22:27

Just finished Saturday by Ian Macewan,it was really good, but I did find he rambled a bit in places.

Definately went into way too much detail with the squash game imo.

codnotmud · 30/01/2006 11:01

lol sd

oldandfat · 30/01/2006 11:47

sansouci....will change it to thinandfit if i ever get there lol

Cam · 30/01/2006 18:20

ggirl, I quite like those insights into the male mind-set

sansouci · 31/01/2006 21:08

no, don't change oldandfat. even if you're thinandfit.

btw, the name of the book I'm reading is Shantaram & it's actually v. good so far. Well-written & fascinating.

I've never read Pride & Prejudice. I did Mansfield Park for A-level & slogged through it. so it's never appealed. Maybe I should read it (28 years later!)

mummytosteven · 01/02/2006 20:49

just finished Weight by Jeanette Winterson. (retelling of Atlas and Hercules myth).
Just started "Out" by Kirino.
