Adele Parks is fab. Shes what i call grown up chick lit. If you are after getting her two books you could get her Playing Away and Young Wives Tales both by Adele. Ive read Playing Away which is quite naughty and raunchy. But ive not yet read its sequel which is Young Wives Tales.

I'm not a chick lit reader (DP says I am a book snob, I say I am discerning) but I really enjoyed Adultery for Beginners.

Pan · 29/08/2011 22:38

Whoa! - just googled Adultery..sounds a bit like Mills and Boon, and the "Savage Surrender " sort of thing!Grin

Isla Dewar - I really like her writing

Adele Parkes books are good ( good fun and quite sexy) . Just read Celia Ahern -Thanks for The Memories and it was a good light read.

acsec · 29/08/2011 22:54

Pan lol - it's not Mills and Boon-y (well not that I recall, I haven't read them since I was 13/14) I am pretty sure there is no mention of a 'throbbing manhood' in Adultery for Beginners!

Pan · 29/08/2011 23:00

acsec - I will check it out tomorrow, but expect it to supplied in a brown paper package.Grin

Something else I've noticed - airport book shops seem to thrive on that sort of thing. Embossed covers with scanitly-clad sirens. Weird.

Okay - thanks all again.

Plan is to buy a whole load of these recommendations tomorrow, and then drip-feed her all of them overthe next 5 years!

I'll be shopping with dd aged 11, so I'll be saying "Look away now!". I am such a prude.Grin

Pan - I borrowed it from my cousins bookshelf so didn't actually have to buy it - let me know if it comes in a brown paper bag lol!

I also liked this and this! :o

Janet Evanovich, One for the Money etc, Really funny and raunchy and not so well known as Marion Keyes etc

Pan · 30/08/2011 15:28

Visited the land that is chic lit/smut land, and returned with Keyes "The Brightest Star In The Sky" and Sophie Kinsella "The Tennis Party" - mixed doubles, anyone? Shocking.
Listed all of the others and will drip feed.
ta.
