Marion Keyes?

Ponders · 29/08/2011 21:44

I was going to say Marion Keyes too! Lovely characters, interesting plots & loads of laughs Smile

Ponders · 29/08/2011 21:44

(but check that she hasn't already read them all)

Pan · 29/08/2011 21:47

not Marian Keyes?....just goggled her latest "this Charming Man" - a bit serious for chic/lit maybe?

Ponders - my sis would have been explicit in her orderings to me!

Yes she might well have some. If she hasn't read any yet, Sushi for beginners is my favourite

Ponders · 29/08/2011 21:54

yes, this Charming Man is a more serious plot than most of hers, but still has the usual fab characters & hilarious lines

Ponders · 29/08/2011 21:56

\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rachels-Holiday-Marian-Keyes/dp/0140271791/ref=pd_cp_b_3\Rachel's Holiday} has overwhelmingly good reviews on amazon

kingofthejungle · 29/08/2011 21:57

books.simonandschuster.co.uk/Bad-Girls/Rebecca-Chance/9781847393968

is nice and saucy... plenty of Blush bits

Pan · 29/08/2011 21:57

I'd like to add that my sister has a mind like a sewer. She invents her own double entendres, and sniggers at them, even before the utterer has innocently finished speaking.

Not needed for this request obv. Just an opportunity to be a bit libelous about her as an indulgence.

\link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/Other-Side-Story-Marian-Keyes/dp/0140295992/ref=ntt_at_ep_dpt_3\the Other Side of the Story} popular too

(I have read both these but would happily read them again Smile)

oreocrumbs · 29/08/2011 21:58

I like Fiona Walkers books - Similar to Keyes (same characters turn up in various books) More horsey set - acyually think I might go nd dig one out for a re-read!

GlaikitFizzog · 29/08/2011 21:59

Ceila Ahern is a good bet too. Still Irish, PS I love you is her best known one, but any of hers are a good read. They are like grown up fairytales!

My fav is the one totally written like letters/emails/texts....cant remember what its called.

Pan · 29/08/2011 21:59

king - sounds like it's just up my sisters alley. < at which she would have sniggered at " like it's just up.." - you get the picture?Grin>

Harriet Evans - I think her latest one Love Always is great

Ponders · 29/08/2011 21:59

will she have read \link{http://www.amazon.co.uk/One-Day-David-Nicholls/dp/0340896981/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1314651533&sr=1-1\One Day?}

by a bloke but still chick lit & very current (film just out, dodgy casting though)

bigkidsdidit · 29/08/2011 22:00

Jilly cooper then!

GlaikitFizzog · 29/08/2011 22:01

Where rainbows end!! Thats it!

And before someone corrects me I know its Cecelia Ahern. :o

GlaikitFizzog · 29/08/2011 22:03

Or Freya North? Cat, Pip and Fen are a series along with Home Truths. Chloe is my fav, some quite Blush bits too!!

YellowWallpaper · 29/08/2011 22:06

I like chick lit, although I dont like the term chick lit but the best I have ever read is Twenties Girl by Sophia Kinsella, lovely story

Pan · 29/08/2011 22:08

Right - thanks v. much all. I will look these up, and get two books and some smellies. [sister's snigger emocion]

Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series - laugh out loud funny with lots of raunch and great plots.

Jellykat · 29/08/2011 22:10

I'd recommend, and i hate to admit this... a surprisingly good book by Sharon Osborne (supposedly), called 'Revenge', and it has a sexy black glittery cover Grin.

I am afraid a sexy black glittery cover would turn her head.

But she is as sharp as a whip. Really curious mix.

I'm sharp as a whip too Grin Grin Grin
