I don't have it yet, but I know I am going to want to talk about it.

Amazon are sending it - I had to buy a paper copy rather than Kindle so I can give it to people and make them read it.

So.... yeah.

I love Caitlyn Moran. Today I am mostly imagining locking her in a room with that twunt Nick Freeman and a bottle of gin and seeing how many pieces he comes out in! Grin

I too am waiting for Amazon to deliver her book, can't see me wanting too much to do with my patients if it appears tomorrow.

transferbalance · 16/06/2011 20:35

I've just downloaded the kindle version, great price at the moment

notnowbernard · 16/06/2011 20:42

I remember seeing her on TV a good few years ago on one of the BB spin-off programmes (the early evening one with Dermot, I think)

Dermot kept pronouncing her name wrong (it's Cat-lin, not 'Kate'-lin)

She was very, very quick and witty on air, similar to how she is in print

I'm going to get the book as well

TrillianAstra · 17/06/2011 10:36

Wellllllll... you could say that she pronounces it wrong. Given that she saw it in a Jilly Cooper book and decided to adopt it without knowing how it's said. Wink

But they all call Ralph Fiennes "Rafe" when they interview him, so really you should address people by whatever crazy name they choose. Unless they are Prince and rename themseles as squiggly-trumpet-with-a-thingy-on-it.

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 16:36

So, who's finished it already? It wa funny near the end (funny peculiar, it was funny ha ha al the way through) as it got to more recent events that I have already read about.

It's my mum's birthday next week - shall I get her a copy?

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 17/06/2011 16:56

i like the idea of CM writing a book
but im bored of babies and wimmin and birth
YAWNSLEY.

AND i was in the Mn article she wrote.

oh yess
she called me this.

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 17/06/2011 16:56

I use her article on abortion and kitchen worktops in a lesson at school.

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 17:02

Sensibleness? Noooooooo.....

The semi-feral, always amusing alpha female of the board. She is a hardcore feminist with a ?unique? typing style ? most posts look liek thsi ? and is an expert at putting the boot into pious posters who write things such as: ?My child doesn?t even know what a television is! Or sugar!? She is also on a mission to identify the most effective lipglosses and moisturisers known to man. She once started an incredibly contentious thread entitled: ?It?s really sad about these murders in Norfolk [sic], but every time they mention it, I can only think of Alan Partridge.?

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 17/06/2011 17:03

oh maybe it was on an email.

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 17/06/2011 17:04

roar at that norwich thread.
i can never go near east anglia now without giggling

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 17:07

Is that why is was Norfolk[sic]?

I was looking at it thinking "but that is how you spell Norfolk isn't it?"

TheStallionOfSensibleness · 17/06/2011 17:07

rememerb when CM did an articel about lourdes madoonnaey gir's moustahce

and she was roundly criticised on here

i LOVED that and she didnt give a fuck
and all of mumsnet were going BANANAS in orgasms of disapproval and i bet CM was sipping mojitos in front of "wish you were here"

PredictableDullard · 17/06/2011 17:09

arse, its all expensive again on kindle

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 17:10

If no section of MN hates you then you are just boring.

Any self-respecting journo should have some haters. Shows you are interesting and controversial.

JustineMumsnet · 17/06/2011 17:58

She's coming on to do a webchat btw - just confirming dates.

elkiedee · 17/06/2011 18:08

It's less expensive in paperback today. I'm quite tempted.

YaMaYaMa · 17/06/2011 19:22

Oh I will buy this book and I will read the webchat and I will, um, continue to like her. Oh yes.

She was the only person worth reading in the Times, pre-paywall when I graced them with my pageviews.

I always wonder if she's the same person who I saw interview Henry Rollins on a late night TV show years and years ago. He was incredibly rude to her and it put me right off him.

ItsNotRocketSurgery · 17/06/2011 19:25

Oooooooooooooooooooo.

Kindle price has gone back up to £9,59 - what on earth is going on?
