Ive just finished My Sisters Keeper and recently read Time Travellers wife.

Previously read a lot of non fiction, but also read Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. I have these books...

Captain Corellis Mandolin

The Bookseller of Kabul

and Notes on a Scandel by Zoe Heller.

Which one?, you decide.

Anyone got any ideas that are not on madmarchhare's list? Love hearing about books that others are reading/have read.

Purple Narcissus was fab. I love African fiction but it might not be to everyone's taste. Just read a brilliant collection of short stories by Gael Sobott-Mogwe called Colour Me Blue.

Loved my Sisters Keeper.

Hated The Pact.

trouble causer - go and do some snooping!

poglepuss · 02/09/2005 23:30

What about Plain Truth, also Jodi Picoult, that's really good.

I'm just about to go to bed with the Mummy Diaries - anyone know if it's any good? My other options are: Wives of Bath, The Bad Mother's Handbook, or the new Karin Slaughter book Faithless (may be too scary tho!)

JoolsToo · 02/09/2005 23:35

Yes Plain Truth - very good too!

Started Notes on a Scandal last night, so far not too bad although nothing jucy happened yet.

Bad Mothers handbook an easy read. Made me think about how unaware I was of other peoples feelings when I was younger.

"The Bitch Goddess Notebook" is fab!!

"We need to talk about Kevin" is a deeper read, but good once you get into it...

Celia Aherne has 2 fantastic books at the minute.. "PS i love you" and "Where rainbows end" I read them both in a couple of days.. PS i love you is a weepy book..

I love reading, and I have read my sisters keeper, am hoping to have time to read books as well as my Uni course..but not really holding out much hope

I have read notes on a scandal and corelli - though corelli was brilliant at the time (about 10 years ago!)
read notes on a scandal last summer, found the characters a bit 2 dimensional and obvious, but it's a nice easy read - more of a long short story than a beefy novel though, imo
hope you enjoy it

Defnitely The Pact by Jodi Picault - first book of hers I've read. Took it on hols and read it twice! Am now on the hunt for more of hers. Also read The Game by Mandasue Heller - very similar to Martina Cole books - enjoyed that. Also enjoyed the School Run by Sophie King.

Wasn't too keen on The Ivy Chronicles, Wives of Bath, Vince & Joy by Lisa Jewell. They were a bit light-read but ideal for passing the time on the sun lounger Read Jordan's biography and to my shame quite enjoyed it

Must get the Bitch Goddess Notebook and this morning I've received from ebay - It's different for girls by Jo Brand and Big Brother 6.

MrsSpoon · 09/09/2005 22:53

Im reading 'diary of a manhattan callgirl' at the mo, which is proving to be difficult on the train without anyone seeing the cover! Best book Ive read for ages is Marian Keyes The other side of the story. I was depressed for a week when I finished it!
