Just started the Jillian Michael's 30 day shred DVD - when do you think I will see results?

Am doing it in conjunction with healthy eating and also aiming to walk to the car from work 3 days a week which is a good 20 min walk, some of it uphill...

I just want to see some sort of results within first week or so just to give me some motivation to keep at it!!

If you have done the 30 day shred, what did you think of it? I have done level 1 and was expecting a lot of jumping around and dancing but it seems very measured and calm...did the trick though...heart rate was up, muscles feel all stretched and I was panting quite a bit!

hi - I finished the 30 day shred on Sunday - with 5 days off throughout. I noticed a difference within the first 10 days - felt healthier too. I've not lost a lot of weight but def toned up.

I noticed a week or so that my upper body was changing, and I definitely felt fitter. Make sure you are eating enough protein to help your muscles recover and rebuild between workouts.

I've really felt it in my legs today but I still did my 20min walk to the car at a fast pace and it sounds mad but I felt that it was a little easier than when I did it yesterday. Am waiting for my food to digest before I do the shred dvd...really hope it does something for my bingo wings!!

It will, especially the push ups it you concentrate on keeping your hands directly underneath your shoulders, or if that's too easy, closer together as this will work your triceps. The wider your hands are apart the more work your chest does.

I am deaf and a lot of fitness DVDs aren't subtitled so I do miss out on some tips!

Have had a break from it tonight...I walked home but my leg muscles are killing me...am oohhing and ahhing as I go down the stairs so I thought ok, maybe a rest day would be good

Hope I see results by next week! Fed up with being wobbly!

lol @ leg aches. Started doing 30 DS last week after doing Davinas workouts for a month consequently I hadn't expected my legs or butt to ache like they did!

I'm still panting at level 1 although can do it - when is a good time to move up a level and are the levels very different?

I would just say when you feel ready, or have got bored. Level 2 is a killer!

I did a week at each level and then alternated them. I agree, level 2 is tough, especially on the upper body and core. Level 3 is a bitch because of all the jumping!

IvyKaty - you can use any size weights. I use 2KG dumbells.
Twinkle - it depends on how often you do it. I did the 30 days in 35 days (5 days rest), I saw toning within the first 10 days

I've just registered on her web site - has anyone else? I didn't go as far as paying for the plan - I hope to just get motivation from her e letters.
I'm swithering buying her DVD as I have a full collection of fitness dvd's - collecting dust!
Is there an online preview of her stuff anywhere?

TracyK go onto exercisetv.com there's a little preview on there. also I've never been able to stick with a DVD but this one takes 20 mins & you're doing diff exercises every 30 sec/ minute so don't get bored.

BO - no but she does try & get you "gargling your heart" and goes on about "phoning it in at the gym" - I actually find it funny/ inspiring. lol

lol @ BO. She hasn't said it yet on level 1. She has come out with a couple of other gems though. It worth watching just for those!

Thanks girlies.. will have a look at the warm up on youtube... am looking forward to seeing quick results!!! Any ideas on good low calorie diets to go on as I keep falling off the wagon... dh is just such a bad influnence!!!

Anyone else having the same problem????

Don't go on a low calorie diet, especially when you are working out. Try and eat smaller meals more regularly and concentrate on eating good carbs, protein and healthy fats at each meal. If you do want to count calories then there are websites where you can calculate how many calories you should be eating to maintain your current weight. You should then deduct NO MORE than 300 calories from that total for a healthy weight loss so that you lose fat and not muscle. It will probably a much larger number than you think!

I am really rubbish at this sort of thing.. hat sort of things should I be eating and what about weight watchers could I do that while doing this DVD or LighterLife??? What do you think LostGirl????
