i really need to feel a difference, i have lost nearly 6 lbs but don't feel any slimmer. sob!

YoginiBikini · 24/03/2010 11:10

Well done BO for the 6lbs. I know what you mean though. I'm 10 and a half down now and I only started to feel like I'd lost anything in the last couple of days, coinciding with being in The Zone funnily enough

6lbs is great! Cheer up

MmeLindt · 24/03/2010 11:11

I started running for the MacMillan run (Have you all sponsored the MNetters doing that btw?) and am really enjoying it. Will go this afternoon when the DC are at football training. It helps when the weather is good.

I have huge norks too, but find that a good fitting torture instrument from Bravissimo keeps my gals in check.

Not following a particular plan, just eating more veg, less fat, more wholemeal, mainly organic food. Lots of fruit.

Not cutting out wine. That is a Bridge Too Far.

BariatricObama · 24/03/2010 11:12

thats great yogini i dream of 10 lbs!

yes will be more positive. whooo hoooo [produces pompoms from own arse]

MmeLindt · 24/03/2010 11:13

6 lb is great, what is that about 3kg?

I need to lose that much in the next week before we go to MILs otherwise I will get a comment from SIL.

BariatricObama · 24/03/2010 11:13

enell bras are good for the big of nork. i got to fat for mine. last time i put it on dh practically had to cut me out of it!

jenduff · 24/03/2010 11:18

Su working all day so in her absence - right slackers get back in the zone....now....yes coco and Bariatric that means you.

Bariatric have you tried measuring - you may not feel it but the tape measure might say so - and a 6lb result is fab.

Was considering fatface dull dress until the fat arse issue was pointed out.

Granola and yog for brek
3 brazil nuts for snackage
Ham and egg salad for lunch
Chicken korma for dinner - no rice or naans - salado instead rocking in at around 5g of carb but prob bit too high in fat for here
A reservoir full of water to drink boring

Themasterandmargaritas · 24/03/2010 11:19

C'mon BO, 6lbs is great! Give those hamsters a good slap. You will soon be on your way to 10.

The first 5lbs must be the most difficult to shift.

FeedTheBeast · 24/03/2010 11:34

Morning ladies

Not officially joining in as currently about 11 months pregnant but finding this all v inspiring.
Have swapped biscuits and crisps for carrots and melon, Dh in on it too, no more takeaways or salad dodging .

Getting my head around the diet drama which is heading my way, worried this baby will think it is a piglet when it sees me in this state... the most important bit for me i guess is the mental switch over- from indulgent troffer to svelte yummy mummy. Will keep lurking if that?s ok.

Also see no prob with the thread title, (thought mossy was being quite unoriginal when she said it) but how about From Pig to Twig Thread? Or is that worse??

shortandsweet2 · 24/03/2010 11:53

God this thread moves fast, just what I need.

B - Protein shake
S - nuts
L - Chicken & pasta
S - yoghurt
D - Steak and veggies

AuldAlliance · 24/03/2010 12:33

'allo ladies.

I have not eaten any almonds.

But I did have a slice of baguette at lunch, after my boring, boring, boring steamed veg & leftover quinoa. DS1 had sausage with his veg. I cooked three sausages, he ate one, there are 2 left for making a casserole thing for his supper tomorrow. I have not eaten any and will not eat any. Don't fancy it, even.

I feel myself edging towards the Zone in spite of the baguette.

I haven't weighed myself but did try on some trousers, which fitted OK in about Sept, after a v hectic, stressful summer and lots of BFing. They didn't fit me last week, after months of bad eating. BUT they did this morning. I think it's partly the exercises and partly stopping bingeing on biscuits and similar crap. Am hoping to go swimming on Friday at lunchtime. Cycle to pool up horrendous steep hill, swim half an hour, home to work.

Today:
breakfast: oatflakes, yoghurt and apple purée
lunch: steamed veg & quinoa & illegal baguette slice
apple
snack: multigrain thins/fruit
supper: steamed fish, beans & courgettes

Exercises again when boys are in bed.

bobbiewickham · 24/03/2010 13:12

I've lost 2lbs since Sunday!!

Was good this morning - went out for breakfast and had smoked haddock and a poached egg. Ate some toast but not all of it and it was granary.

Going to have thins and humous for lunch.

Dunno what's for dinner.

largeginandtonic · 24/03/2010 13:31

Everyones diets sound more interesting than mine.

I have had museli for breakfast, no point soups for lunch and a pitta (1 and a half points)

My ZH book came this morning. It is Atkins on crack.

Dunno >

Am going to get a diet coke and read.

largeginandtonic · 24/03/2010 13:33

Wello done Bobbie!!

BO stop bloody moaning. You have lost 6LBS woman. That is a fantastic achievement. Be proud

MamaGoblin · 24/03/2010 14:09

Still lol-ing at TheMaster's autistic prawn stir fry (10.17am).

Just had to do the most painful thing since I started on this - scrape DS's rejected and delish gnocchi in philly and pesto sauce into the compost. Ungrateful little wretch. I had a Veg Pot (must not buy any more of those) and a nibble of his vv lean beef. And three gnocchi.

Ok, five. But they were the micro-sized ones.

Oh, and I sort of absorbed a small chocolate-cheerio 'cake' (like chocolate crispie cake) from last weekend's NCT sale. DS didn't want it. In fact, this is ALL HIS FAULT.

HumphreyCobbler · 24/03/2010 14:19

I am about to make chocolate cake with the DC.

It is going to be difficult, but I will resist.

ArcticRoll · 24/03/2010 14:25

I was hard core for a few days and smug with it and then self medicated with Pringles and Choco Leibniz following various family dramas.
Back to boot camp now.

MamaGoblin · 24/03/2010 14:26

Humphrey, you're braver than me.

isthatporridgeinyourhair · 24/03/2010 14:33

BO - I hope you're going to wash those pom poms before you shake them?

Mama Goblin - I HATE WHEN THEY DO THAT!You have my sympathies.

Deep breath Humph. STAY IN THE ZONE.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make a salmon fillet more interesting?

largeginandtonic · 24/03/2010 14:42

You can do it Humph. Stay strong.

Arctic roll i always want to EAT that when i see you.

Childen wasting food is so frustrating. I am fairly good at not eating it up though. Usually covered in ketchup, bleurgh.

AuldAlliance · 24/03/2010 14:59

porridge, if you can steam it, put it in a tinfoil parcel with lemon juice, seasoning, herbs, white wine if allowed, olive oil (a teeny drop). Steam.

HumphreyCobbler · 24/03/2010 15:00

They are eating the raw cake mixture as we speak.

Thanks for the support

I accidentally licked the spoon though

Themasterandmargaritas · 24/03/2010 15:17

at the thought of salmon. We only get tilapia and snapper. How about salmon, with sliced leeks and peas, dash of wine teaspoon of (light) crème fraiche, seasoning, all in the foil together, then in the oven for 20mins?

I'm with Ginwoman, all our leftovers are smothered in ketchup, bleurgh.

Children, they are such a bad influence. I try to stay away from them at all costs.

Dd wanted crisps today for a post-school-dash-around-the-supermarket-for-forgotten-teacher's-end-of-term-present trip. I am teetering on the edge of The Zone for the whole family, I made her have breadsticks instead.

MamaGoblin · 24/03/2010 15:17

I blame most of my fat on DS starting solids 1.5 years ago. All the outsides of fish fingers, those little crispy oven chips he won't eat, the little nibbles of cheese, the crusts of toast, finishing off his scrambled egg-with-cheese...

Humph, it is IMPOSSIBLE to make a cake without licking spoon or fingers.

mrsjuan · 24/03/2010 15:25

Yes - feeding children is very fattening -especially since they have to have full fat versions of everything.

I have eaten four chocolates but no lunch. I am well aware that this isn't the right way to do things though so may well have lunch too
