What's your body fat percentage?

Mine has fluctuated so wildly.

In 2020 it was 44%, I then did Fast 800 and it was 36%.

I then started spinning and gym classes and it was 29% in 2021.

I then got into weight lifting and it was 22% after doing a bulk and cut. At that point I was 9st 10 I think, 5 foot 6 in 2023. Looked my best since my 20s (was 43).

I hated doing the cut and then gradually lost track with eating enough protein. Its now end of 2025 and I'm 13 stone and my body fat percentage is 40%. I'm so annoyed at myself.

In the New Year I'm going to switch to 1650 calories, balanced macros (goodbye croissants, pizza, crisps, chocolate desserts), more veg.

Plus get back into exercise again (consistency being the key). I'm not bothered about super low body fat percentage, but would like it to just stay at the same level for once in my life!

I don’t know how to tell

topcat2014 · 14/12/2025 11:31

I like the idea of it being 20%, but probably 25%. Don't stay on the scales long enough for it to do the counting etc..

I don’t know how to tell

I have some cheap Salter scales that calculate it. Its not 100% accurate but it's in the ballpark to give a comparison over time.

Scales and PT say around 22%

Mydogissnoring · 14/12/2025 11:40

17% according to my scales this morning. Normally around 18% but currently stressed!

Greendiamondbee · 14/12/2025 14:23

23.3 currently doing keto so this is no surprise. BMI 19.5

MarbleDrive · 14/12/2025 14:25

22% according to Fitdays app.

collectkdsasmed · 14/12/2025 14:30

28% when I’m at my heaviest and 22% when I’m at my happy weight, according to my app. That’s a fluctuation between BMI of 24 and 21 ish, I think. Haven’t weighed in a while but I’ve no doubt I’m nearer the 28% right now, and miserable for it, but December is not the time to act!

queenofkale · 14/12/2025 14:32

My scales say 18% but I’m not sure if they are accurate because everything I read says you should have ab visibility under 20% and I don’t!

bignewprinz · 14/12/2025 14:32

According to my scales, it's currently 30.3%. BMI currently just over 25.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 14/12/2025 14:32

32%

scaredfriend · 14/12/2025 15:07

Mine’s around 34%. It’s rather high for my ‘normal’ BMI (height 5’6”, weight around 10.5st).

popcornandpotatoes · 14/12/2025 15:14

About 30%. It is very very hard for me to get it lower than that. I used the scale at gym in April and it was 32%, did a solid 6 months of gym workout, Pilates, eating on average 1500-1600 cals a day. Did it again exactly 6 months later and it was exactly the same 🤷

KilliMonjaro · 14/12/2025 15:39

What’s it supposed to be?

CortieTat · 16/12/2025 07:44

My scales say 16-17% depending on the day. Not sure how accurate this number is but I do have visible muscles all over the body.

PigeonsandSquirrels · 16/12/2025 07:46

KilliMonjaro · 14/12/2025 15:39

What’s it supposed to be?

20-30% is healthy for women. 15-20% for athletes, any lower than 15 is dangerous for women, higher tha 30% is risking health issues from overweight or obesity especially if it’s centralised.

Cocopuff · 16/12/2025 07:54

41% - I need to half that!

BlueberryOats · 16/12/2025 17:53

This is depressing 🤣

I think mine was quite low in my 20s, then I went abroad and ate lots of fried donuts. I never managed to lose that so that's when my balance tipped I think.

I've done a few diets and the thing is that you never put muscle back (unless being intentional) when weight goes back on, just fat, so that's where the % goes up.

I think I'm going to have be really intentional to get it back down to maybe 28-30% again.

Stay there for a while and then introduce more lifestyle changes.

I suppose I could just go all out and just do F800 diet again, and get it down to about 25%. But I'd lose a lot of the muscle gains.

Probably 99%...

Power26 · 16/12/2025 18:02

My BMI is 20 and my body fat hovers between 21%-22% but I am quite muscular. I wouldn’t say I look properly lean yet, I think I’d need to get to 19/20% to have proper muscle definition. I have some definition in my obliques but don’t have visible abs for example

Lemonlimonade · 16/12/2025 18:02

15.7% according to my scale

Power26 · 16/12/2025 18:03

Also I’m short so a relatively low body fat percentage probably doesn’t look like it on me (as in, I might look a bit heavier as I’m more compact)

Shayisgreat · 16/12/2025 18:05

bignewprinz · 14/12/2025 14:32

According to my scales, it's currently 30.3%. BMI currently just over 25.

Same

hby9628 · 16/12/2025 18:06

Oh I’m sorry I opened this thread! I joined a gym in April & was 40%. When I last checked about a month ago I was 36% so still a way to go but I’ve lost a stone in weight so hopefully another half stone will see it drop even more

NoExchangeBeforeChristmasThen · 16/12/2025 18:11

Mine is 24.1 apparently.

5’ 5”
50
9s 2lb
size 8-10
BMI 21.3

I’m probably “fat-thin” to quote Aisling Bea 😀
