I was doing really well with weight loss and managed to drop 2.5stone. Unfortunately I’ve gained a stone back and now would like to become motivated to head in the right direction again. Created this thread so I can do my daily weigh ins with accountability I.e if I miss a weigh in or continuously gain then I’ll be embarrassed enough to do something about it (or I’ll have to disappear and name change 😂) When I’m committed to weight loss, I find daily weigh ins help me to stay on track although I only really take notice of the overall loss/gain on a weekly basis. I know there are lots of weight loss chat threads but I struggle to keep up with them and then feel guilty for posting in them without acknowledging previous posts and other people’s journey.

First weigh in will be in the morning but I think I’m around 11st 10lbs and 5ft 3ins right now.

Wednesday weigh-in - 11st 4lbs - Slightly up on yesterday (which is annoying!) But 2lbs lighter than last Wednesday so I'm happy.

26/11/26: 11st 4lbs

@happysnail12
Well done you really are on track after a few days of feeling not so good .
Seems lots of people with the winter bugs. 😔
Hoping not to pick anything up myself.
Take care xx

Obeseandashamed · 27/11/2025 09:32

@Emmadailya litre of water will soon have you back within the 3lb tolerance without gaining any actual weight! 🤞🏽

I have started my totm so standing still at the 11st 8lbs mark. Slightly up from the lowest i was less than a week ago but still 2lbs down from where I started when I started my accountability!

@happysnail12well done on the 2lb loss this week! X

Well done on your loss @Obeseandashamed 😁

Obeseandashamed · 30/11/2025 11:06

Hello,

Hope you’re all having a good weekend. I think weekends are the most difficult for me to stay on track. The kids always want a weekend takeout and the husband wants snacks multiple times per day! This weekend I’ve started using my husbands snack requests as a cue to finish/refill my water bottle instead of eating a snack with him. Is there any particular time of the week/month that you find difficult?

OP posts:
happysnail12 · 30/11/2025 11:11

That sounds like a good plan @Obeseandashamed

Weekends and holidays are definitely hardest. For me this is primarily due to socialising though. If I'm just at home with the family, I'm okay, and can keep to the usual routine. It's when I see friends or family or go out to eat etc. I then find things so hard to resist. For example I had a burger and hot chocolate yesterday because I went to a Christmas market with my parents.

I am pretty booked up with social events from now until January so God knows what that's going to do to my waistline!

Obeseandashamed · 02/12/2025 23:40

STS! I am continuing to weigh daily but not seeing much progress. Today’s dinner was a chicken pilau. I am finding carb reduction difficult as the kids and husband tend to like eating grilled meats with a carb side. On its own, I find grilled meats dry and boring and I am not a fan of cold foods like salads. I enjoy grilled veg but the rest of the family don’t so it becomes a chore to make something just for myself 😬

OP posts:
happysnail12 · 03/12/2025 07:25

@Obeseandashamed carbs are my biggest downfall too! I just love them and find meals boring without some rice or spuds or something! Especially when the family is tucking in!

Wednesday weigh-in for me - not great -11st 4.75lbs - So a bit up on last week.

I'm continuing to stick to plan, so a bit disappointed, but I've been unwell with a chest infection and am currently on my period so I'm going to blame it on that!

Fingers crossed things start moving down again for next Wednesday 🤞

Hope you’re feeling better @happysnail12. I’ve had a very hectic week but have been weighing daily. Lots of ups and downs which ended on a plateau of staying the same for last week. I’m hoping this week will be better! X

happysnail12 · 08/12/2025 18:38

Hi @Obeseandashamed well done for sticking with it, despite life being hectic. And well done on maintaining, even though plateauing is so frustrating!

I'm feeling much better overall, although a lingering cough is driving me nuts!

I had a bit of a gluttonous weekend with my friends but somehow weighed in at 11st 3.5lbs this morning. Keeping my fingers crossed for a overall loss on Wednesday 🤞

happysnail12 · 10/12/2025 07:21

Wednesday weigh-in. By some miracle a much better loss this week - just over 2lbs. I'm guessing my body has adjusted after my period week. Just shows how much these things impact the scales for women!

Hope everyone is doing okay x

Wednesday weigh-in. Stayed the same this week. A bit annoying but better than a gain.

It's been a busy week with a million Christmas related school activities! I've stayed on track with food but done zero exercise!

How's it going @Obeseandashamed?

Hope everyone is doing well? X

Hello!

So sorry for the lack of posting. I’m still here and plodding along. I’ve been sticking to plan and weighing daily but feel like I am hitting a brick wall with the losses as the dials are barely shifting. I’ve lost another pound since I last posted so I suppose still heading in the right direction albeit very very slowly! I have a very active weekend coming up with a 10mile family walk planned in the countryside (weather permitting). I saw you are also 2.5lbs down. Well done!!! I agree with your observations around period weeks affecting the scales, sometimes I feel like it’s one step forward and two back when it comes to totm. I am due on at the end of the month/beginning of the next so if I do have a good loss this week then I suspect I will go back up during the following week! I have been working on my mindset relating to my weight loss and trying to focus on the fact that whilst I’m not losing as I’d like to, I’m not gaining so not going to head back to the previous gogo weight journey.

Have you got a plan for managing over Christmas? I am planning to enjoy myself on Xmas day but try to stick to high protein (roast lamb) and veg to fill me up and small amounts of treats. I generally don’t have many roast potatoes but do like Yorkshire puddings choose to go for one rather than both! X

happysnail12 · 18/12/2025 06:56

Well done for keeping going. It sounds loke you are doing brilliantly.

I am of a similar mindset. Weightloss is so slow for me now ( and definitely not linear!) But I am getting there slowly but surely. The most important thing is that I break this pattern of yo-yoing and safeguard my health somewhat for the future.

I am at my in-laws for Christmas day and my MIL is the biggest feeder going! Like you, I am going to enjoy the day (and the food) but try to be mindful of not being absolutely ridiculous. We are then off to stay with my brother and niece over the new year period which usually means take aways!

I think it's going to be a case of damage limitation and then back on it for January!

Emmadaily · 18/12/2025 07:06

Morning

I have just read your updates
Slowly but surely is very good and I like your mindsets of having a lovely Christmas day of festivities and not going mad and back on it especially for the new year
That will be me
I'm intending to enjoy Christmas then from the monday I will knuckle down with the damage limitation approach ready for my weigh on Saturday 3rd of January
Good luck everyone and Happy Christmas and a healthy New Year
Xx

happysnail12 · 18/12/2025 08:33

Thanks @Emmadaily 😊 Happy Christmas to you too x

Obeseandashamed · 18/12/2025 09:23

This morning’s weigh in was 11st 6 1/4lbs 🥳 We may have broken through the plateau!!

happysnail12 · 18/12/2025 12:53

Whoop whoop! Well done @Obeseandashamed 👏🥳

Obeseandashamed · 27/12/2025 23:42

Hope the Xmas break has been good to you all. I’ve not been able to weigh daily as have been staying with family who don’t own weighing scales! We don’t get home from this trip until tomorrow and I feel a little nervy about it but have been trying to stay loosely on track so hoping the damage is not too significant. We have also booked a last minute sunny getaway flying out on Monday and so I’m also unlikely to be able to weigh whilst I’m away 😭

OP posts:
happysnail12 · 28/12/2025 12:16

Oo sounds nice @Obeseandashamed hope you've enjoyed all your celebrations and have a great break away.

I was 11st 2.5lbs this morning (Was 11st 3.5lbs yesterday). So have pretty much managed to maintain. I am at home today, then I am away with family until New Year's Day, which includes 3x family birthdays and New Year's eve! Going to be lots of cake, drink and takeaways, but hoping I can continue to keep the gain to a minimum. Will start again properly in January! 😊

Obeseandashamed · 02/01/2026 23:07

Happy new year everyone! I’m still on holiday- not sure what’s going on but I’m finding my appetite on holiday has decreased and my activity increased! I’ve been wearing a dress watch so not step counting and haven’t had my phone with me during the day as we’ve been in the pool but my steps average has been over 10k each day! I’d like to think I may have returned to my pre-Christmas weight or at the very least minimised any gain 🤞🏽no idea why my appetite has reduced as the food options have been incredible

OP posts:
happysnail12 · 03/01/2026 15:31

Happy New @Obeseandashamed sounds like you are a changed woman! Well done for staying so dedicated whilst away 😊

I had a rocky few days (food wise) whilst away with family, but have stayed on track since the New Year. I was back down to 11st 1.5lbs this morning. Hoping and praying I can break into the 10s by next Wednesday for my weekly weigh in, but we will see!

Definitely starting at a much better place than I usual do in January ☺️

happysnail12 · 07/01/2026 07:31

Wednesday weigh in.....still 11st 1.5lb (which is what I last posted on the 3rd) but that's still 1.5lbs down since last week (1st) so counting it as a loss.

Just need to keep plodding and eventually I will see a 10 on the scales🙈

Obeseandashamed · 22/01/2026 10:01

Still here and still trudging along! I did so well during the first week of our holiday abroad and managed to not gain any weight but unfortunately I ended up going for a lot of brunches and dinners with friends and family who live in the country we visited in the second week. I’m back to weighing daily now that I’ve had a week at home and have managed to lose 2lbs of the holiday gain in 10 days of being home. Not ideal but I’m not going to let it discourage me as I plan to continue on my journey. 😊
