Chub Club: Fighting Flab in Aisle Five

Right then, here we go!
Me @Obsesetits are throwing ourselves headfirst into the salad aisle and starting the official Chub Club. Our mission: lose a stone at a time (3 in total for me), with full accountability, banter, and possibly tears when someone brings doughnuts into the house.

If you fancy joining us, here are the official Chub Club Rules:

  1. All meetings held in Aisle 5 — attendance compulsory unless hiding in the biscuit aisle.
  2. Confessions encouraged — especially snaccidents (e.g. finishing the kids’ leftovers “so they don’t go to waste”).
  3. Non-scale victories count double — zipping up old jeans = instant promotion to Salad General.
  4. Anyone bringing doughnuts to meetings will be banned (or eaten, not sure which yet).

This is a space for accountability, progress (big or small), and plenty of laughs — because if we can’t laugh while eating lettuce, what’s the point?

So… who’s in? Grab a trolley, confess your snaccidents, and let’s see how much chub we can shift together 💪🥦🍫

So I wrote my last message and it didn’t post as I wasn’t signed in? I will try again.

@chalkyc2 this time around has been the only time I have managed to count calories as I find it tedious at times. It has also been my most successful time so it does work for me. I know what my usual snacks are which make it easier and I tend to eat similar ish meals so I have a loose idea.

@CanYouHereMeRoar make sure you listen to your body. Being out of breath is ok, niggles are warnings. Make sure you’re eating protein too! I have found a couple of indoor walks that I might try but I can just never be bothered! I need to change that.

Today’s weigh in is higher than Friday, so it looks like I will have to be happy with a maintain. It was a heavy drinking weekend as we were out both nights, and I was happy with the 3lb gain, but was hoping it would go by yesterday as I have been drinking loads of water.

Maybe I need to be more disciplined!

@CanYouHereMeRoarIve just noticed your aim is to get back to hockey - I did just that 2 years ago and played last season. I’ve got a hip niggle at the moment so not playing - and I ferry my two kids to their matches so time short on a Saturday this year!

IHaveRunOutOfIdeas · 03/11/2025 06:54

Well I think my scales must be broken as I am still not losing!

Oh very annoying - mine do that too!

I was 3kg down but as of this morning only 2kg down - apparently due to the two pieces of pizza and cookie I ate at the weekend….😩😩

Onwards.….

IHaveRunOutOfIdeas · 03/11/2025 20:38

Im hoping it’s just one of those weeks and this week will see a 2.5lb loss to make up for it 😂

Well hopefully!!

I’m struggling. I can’t seem to keep consistent and it feels like to lose anything I need to eat so little! I follow all the rules - filling up with protein and vegetables blah blah but as soon as I relax and fall off it BOOM there’s a 1kg gain overnight!!!

I have no money nor inclination to look at WLI but this ‘food noise’ thing is real and it’s constantly in my head.

IHaveRunOutOfIdeas · 04/11/2025 17:22

I don’t want to do WLI but I also feel like I need something to just help me along. I keep reading posts where people have lost 2 to 3 st in a couple of months and I think I could have hit my target by now, and then I get a little bit envious and jealous which I know isn’t good! I then have to remind myself that I have made progress as my BMI has dropped since May. Not loads, but a drop is a drop. (3.6 BMI points)

No loss again! I’ve made a coffee to help move things along as I used to be like clockwork in the morning before work however the last couple of weeks I have either not been going, or going in the late afternoon. TMI but sod it, we are all friends here 😂. I am WFH today so coffee is safe to drink, usually a tea drinker.

2 and a half off this week. Can I do 6 and a half by the 30th November?

Hey well done!! I’m having a shocker I’ve lost all willpower. I need to get on track!

IHaveRunOutOfIdeas · 09/11/2025 22:25

Had a takeaway tonight. This week won’t be good.
