Greek yoghurt tips please to make it more palatable?

I really want to eat good quality natural Greek yoghurt for its health benefits but I really dislike the taste!

Tbh, I am not good with diary products generally!

Are there any ways of eating it to make it taste better please? I don’t even much like the texture! But the taste is the most difficult aspect for me; I thought I would get used to it but no improvement after a month of eating just a little nearly every day.

Honey and fruit.

I love Fage 5% or 0% fat Greek yoghurt, with frozen mango chunks, or blueberries, or strawberries (all in frozen packs from Iceland) and a scoop of b=vanilla protein powder.

Calories for protein & taste are top!

To make posh toffee muller corner…

Squirt of honey. Mix it in.

Drizzle honey over the surface.

Done

Just take some probiotics and drink some kombucha op. You don’t to eat yogurt!

Are you eating full fat greek yoghurt, proper greek yoghurt? I found that didnt have bitterness or a tang to it which I cant stand

I do love it personally but cant eat it as it gives me acid these days which is such a shame

But if you dont like it, dont eat it!!

Make sure it’s ACTUAL Greek yogurt - not Greek style yogurt, vile watery stuff 🤢

Op here! I’m really grateful for everyone’s tips and will definitely be trying some of them!

Thanks to a very knowledgeable poster, I think I’ve decided that Greek yoghurt is really not for me, so I am going to try miso and kombucha instead!

Thanks again though for all of these terrific ideas!

I've recently discovered the Aldi light Greek yoghurts, only 60 calories a pot and very creamy and tasty. The lemon are my favourite, utterly delicious, but the cherry are nice too. Might work if you don't mind flavoured yoghurt.

Kefir is savoury.
Kimchi is pickles.

Kefir has proven health benefits and you can buy water grains and make your own rather than buying milk based off the shelf. My understanding is the health benefits are more proven in kefir than kombucha (though I stand to be corrected as I actually prefer kombucha so hope someone can evidence otherwise. More research seems to be done on milk kefir but I made water kefir for many years, very cheap when you buy the grains.

There’s no rule that says you have to eat Greek yoghurt!

icantgetnopeace · 19/07/2025 16:08

Fage is lovely, definitely smoother and less tangy than other brands (and sadly twice the price unless you can get it on offer)

Twelftytwo · 19/07/2025 16:26

Are you having full fat? The low fat/fat free one tastes very runny, tangy and a bit bitter to me but the full fat eg. Lidl, is gorgeous and creamy and not too tangy.
It's delicious with honey.

Vanilla essence, flaked almonds sweetener, fresh strawberries, cherries fage 5%, delicious and I'm not normally a greek yogurt fan, like the idea of the vanilla protein powder too. Might give that a go.

Totally get you! I used to struggle with Greek yogurt too! What worked for me is pairing it with a bit of Skinny Food Co's maple syrup (just a drizzle) and Foodhak's chocolate granola. Trust me, it turns it into a guilt-free dessert — sweet, crunchy, and way easier to enjoy while still being healthy! My kid loves it too!
