Need to lose at least a stone, maybe realistically a stone and half
but be very happy with a stone
want to do this within 3 months

so I need to plan ahead
plan bike ride 3 times this week and power walk the other two

meals
mushroom soup
roast chicken all the veg and cooked of roasts
ham, egg and chips
2 sausage, ok maybe three🧐jacket potatoe, beans
chicken and sweetcorn soup

no sugar cokes
sometimes I have two a day atm

little snack treat for desert
like a chocolate covered marshmallow
rather than say a cornetto

needs badly needed for dessert ideas

more fruit and veg

lunch ideas badly needed too
so far all I can think of is scrambled eggs
soup
ryvita Philadelphia light

not sure if I should follow slimming world or calorie count ?
ot both ?

also want to grow my nails back out
paint my toenails
shave
just try and glow up somehow
hair only coloured a week ago
it should probably book in

just don’t know how to get and keep the motivation and not think fuck it ?

so you think I can lose a stone in 3 months ? Is it doable ?

You're very unlikely to be prescribed the injections as you need to have a BMI over 30 or over 27 with at least one weight-related comorbidity. Which app are you using to count your calories? Are you remembering to count oil when cooking? You don't need huge drastic changes just switch to lower calorie options eg you mention sausages, switch to something like Heck chicken sausages which are 66 calories for 2 grilled chipolatas. I often just have soup for lunch, I go for one with beans/lentils etc and don't have bread with it. My favourite shop bought one if I'm feeling lazy is an Asda Mexican bean one which is 180 cal for the whole can, if I feel I want something else with it I'll have a couple of rice cakes which are 30 calories each and maybe some fruit.
As someone mentioned earlier make sure you weigh absolutely everything, when I started calorie counting I was so shocked at how many were in things and how big my portions actually were.

Well i suppose you can still buy them online?
I gonna try doing it with the calorie counting and exercise first tho

So done an hours bike ride today too
So,doing OK with the exercise
Will be getting a walk in later too

Lunch weetabix and crisps
Dinner I'm thinking eggs on toast
Maybe only one slice of toast
Tomatoes and mushrooms

Think instead of sausages I'll go for a fillet steak ? Would that be better ? I know that's better on slimming world?

You can order it online yes but it still has to be prescribed and is strictly controlled.

I use the Nutra check app to count calories. I recommend you use that to compare options if you're aiming for a calorie deficit Remember to weigh absolutely everything and don't just estimate things, don't forget to count oil etc.

I’m so tempted to try them injections but I don’t really want to risk any ill health so trying to do it with food and excercise

Your bmi is 28.5. Unless you are diabetic, have very high blood pressure or persistent high cholesterol you won't be prescribed WLI.

Swap the sausages for skinless chicken breast. Add two green veg and one orange/red/yellow to every dinner and half the portions of chips. Use skin on oven chips.

Grilled, with no fat, fillet steak is 188kcals per 100g, 29g protein. Grilled, skinless chicken breast is 148kcals, 32g protein.

If you must have crisps have a pack of Pom Bears.

Oat bran instead of granola

If you must have chocolate and desert, make chocolate chia pudding or add a small amount of melted dark chocolate to Greek yoghurt. Drizzle a small amount of melted dark chocolate over strawberries. Blend a banana and some Greek yoghurt and freeze it.

Use a TDEE calculator for being sedentary subtract 100kcals and stick to that as your calorie goals. 8k brisk paced steps every day should burn 400kcals. Giving you the 500 daily deficit and any extra exercise is bonus calories burned.

You should easily lose 1-2lbs a week. Weigh everything.

Oat bran instead of granola that's a great tip too, as I don't think I've ever tried oat bran, but it's nice ro sprinkle something a bur crunchy on your yogurt

15g Chia Seeds
13g Cocoa powder (or options praline/salted caramel hot chocolate)
100ml unsweetened almond/cashew milk or sweetened almond milk if you skip the syrup
Few drops of sugar free coffee syrup - caramel, black forest, hazelnut
Mix and leave overnight in fridge
Add berries and a dollop of Greek yoghurt (and a couple of chopped nuts) on top before eating. For breakfast 😃

You can double or triple it and make 2 or 3 at a time. But you must use them within a couple of days.

ETA 3 Brazil nuts weigh about 15g, 100kcals but high in selenium so will help with nails (don't eat too many of them though)

Actually you just saying about chopped nuts I guess I could put that on top of yogurt, I've never thought about that before

Pumpkin seeds are good for crunch too

Kittenswhiskers · 13/03/2025 16:24

Not a fan of pumpkin seeds, but perhaps seasme seeds work ?

OP posts:
9ToGoal · 13/03/2025 16:30

Flax or toasted sunflower seeds? Sesame seeds wouldn't give me a satisfying crunch, they are too small 😂

Can say I liked everything I eat now when I started changing my diet drastically. There are lots of unusual options for adding texture and crunch though. Experimenting is the only way.
