Started my diet in the new year and doing well so far.i have found it a lot easier to go very low calorie during the day and have a nice evening meal. I've cut out all crisps and chocolate. I would just occasionally like to have something that feels indulgent. Yoghurt and fruit does not cut it. Nearest I've come is crackers with pineapple cottage cheese. What I'm really hankering for is warm crusty bread slathered in butter and full fat cream cheese. Please give me your best ideas.

This is a sweet treat so maybe not what you're looking for but worth a try!! Had this regularly and lost 9 stone!

Muller light chocolate fix pot
Squirty cream light
Strawberries
All in a bowl together and I'd sprinkle a bit of a flake over the top😆

Sounds amazing, and the sort of answer I'm after but not really my thing, I'm not really a chocolate desert person.

Cherry or Lemon/Lime jelly with a splash of heavy cream or squirty if you prefer.

ConstantlyCooking · 21/01/2025 13:06

An oatcake with quark on top - it's like a mini cheesecake. You can vary the type of oatcake. For a sweet treat quark, berries and meringue to make a mini Eton mess.

faithbuffy · 21/01/2025 13:07

Mine is sweet
Greek yoghurt, meringue and a spoon of passion fruit curd

Katrinawaves · 21/01/2025 13:07

I like an oatcake with a tablespoon of peanut butter and some pumpkin seeds on top.

Other things which work for me are a crispbread with cashew nut butter and some sliced strawberries or a tbsp of hummus topped with pistachio nuts and pomegranate seeds with some crudités.

MumInTheMitte · 21/01/2025 13:08

Fibre one brownies. I think they are 90 calories per brownie.

shoofly · 21/01/2025 13:10

Meringue shell smashed up with a vanilla quark, and berries. Eton mess type thing

Sallysoup · 21/01/2025 13:12

Would low fat houmous with a thin pitta cut the mustard?

Or low fat pate with chutney?

I was going to suggest cottage cheese but you're on it haha.

Low cal jelly

Imtoooldforallthis · 21/01/2025 13:13

Any savoury ideas?

Jelly. I use some mini glass jars with clip lids from Ikea and can make 5x mini jellies from a pack.

Gives that sweet hit without too many calories and feels somewhat fancy in a glass jar.

Sallysoup · 21/01/2025 13:13

Dairylea spread is pretty low cal too

EveryDayisFriday · 21/01/2025 13:14

Savoury is smoked salmon on crackers

Sallysoup · 21/01/2025 13:14

Sour cream and chive Lentil curls from aldi or lidl

LivingDeadGirlUK · 21/01/2025 13:16

Bagel thins with cream cheese.

Ridingthegravytrain · 21/01/2025 13:16

Rice cakes with butter and marmite

Salted edemame

Brooomhilda · 21/01/2025 13:16

For me it has always been fruits that are really yummy but either really seasonal or expensive. Like persimmon or watermelon. At this time of year, strawberries! So expensive. I often buy frozen strawberries, melt some chocolate and drizzle that over so it melts and then add some squirt cream, which also freezes. Delicious and tastes really indulgent. The chocolate and cream are frozen and crunchy and the fruit is lovely and sweet.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 21/01/2025 13:17

Consider ditching the 'low fat' nonsense, it usually means they added more sugar to compensate and its often a tiny variation in calories.

CeffylCoch · 21/01/2025 13:19

Bagel thin (toasted no butter) with light cream cheese - add tomatoes etc
Sugar free Jelly
Strawberries
Kallo rice cakes - the beetroot & balsamic vinegar ones and the sea salt and cider vinegar ones are amazing
Quavers or other under 100calories crisps
Small packs of popcorn - about 60 calories a pack
tangerines

I know the OP isn’t a chocolate person but I second this. I like to warm it in the microwave for 20-30 seconds then add a few strawberries and a little bit of light squirty cream.

Not in 0% fat Greek yoghurt and Skyr or cottage cheese they don't.

yeesh · 21/01/2025 13:36

If you are counting calories just have what you actually fancy. Most of these ideas would be more cals than a bag of crisps for example. I would have quavers or walkers French fries both under 100 cals

orangewasp · 21/01/2025 13:36

Protein bagel with a grilled or fried in spray oil sliced tomato, lots of pepper.
