We were playing swingball in the garden at the weekend and I thought that would be a good one for Wii Fit. I love the yoga but look very strange doing the heading one.

kidsrus · 09/05/2008 00:30

red fraggle you dont have to return to the menu just use the left and right arrows at the top.
my ds is working it all out for me!
he was also trying to show me some thing this morning that i didn't know you could do but i was a bit busy at that moment but will ask him in the morn and let you know what that was.

RedFraggle · 09/05/2008 07:33

Thanks kidsrus! I'll give that a go later. Hoping to do some yoga and muscle stuff tonight. Typically I haven't read the instructions...

I have been off it for the last couple of days due to a horrible cold the children have passed on, but I popped on briefly this morning for a quick jog and some boxing (fight those bingo wings) and I am delighted!

I have lost another 2lb and my BMI is now 22.86!! I'm fitting into lots of clothes that I couldn't before, I am a very happy lady
I have lost a grand total of 5lb in 2 weeks.

Chant after me
"I love my WiiFit"
"I love my WiiFit"

lol

RedFraggle · 09/05/2008 07:36

Sherbet - you are right. Swingball would be great - you you get some real power into those returns.

I love the way that when you do things like jogging, step etc that the other people running past are often ones you know. My DH is generally there tossing hoops to me in the hula hoop challenge. In swingball you would probably get that too, and then could imagine you were thrashing your DP or friends (something that never happens for me in real life)

NotQuiteCockney · 10/05/2008 20:13

I'm not that impressed with the 'fit age' thing or whatever it's called. It seems a bit random. (Oh, and DS1, who is 6, has a fit age of 24. I think that's meant to be very bad, but honestly, wtf? And don't even get me started on it not letting him not have a weight change goal. I mean, he can aim to stay the same weight, but still ...)

But the games are good fun.

RedFraggle · 10/05/2008 21:05

No the WiiFit age seems very random. For me it depends which balance thing they test me on. I've been 46, 26 and now 36. My DH has elected to stay the same as he is a skinny thing. My DD is too light to play the games still, bless her she is desperate to do the hula hoop one! She is only 3 though....

lilyloo · 10/05/2008 21:15

dp has lost 4lbs since he started, i haven't been on for last few days so don't know!

kidsrus · 15/05/2008 10:11

well done red fraggle on your weight loss.
i have lost 2lb too,but failed to use wii everyday this week.where did everyone go?

week 2

kidrus38) WFA 28 BMI 28.79 W 11.9 T (m)
Red Fraggle32) WFA 36 BMI 23.09 W 11.2 (m)

week 3
kidrus38) WFA 38 BMI 27.39 W 11.7 T (f)

yes i agree we do need new games and better flowing exercise routines.
i have been doing the top row of yoga most mornings and adding the muscle workouts as they suggest them (avoiding the arm raise,i hate that one!)
surely tennis on the sports pack is similar to swingball?
by the way my ds said click on the bear in the left hand corner (on the running machine)it gives more balance tests.
i also discovered i set my dd height wrong and altered it in the user setting.

Hi Kidsrus, Well done on your weight loss! You are doing really well.

I have hardly been on this week. Had blardy sinusitis so could hardly move... Will be back on this evening though as I am feeling much better now.

I measured my waist before I started wiifitting and I measured it again on Monday - I have lost almost two and half inches!!!! Fan-bloody-tastic!

Just need to get back on track and lose some more.

moopymoo · 18/05/2008 12:11

hello can i join in? we got one of these yesterday and im loving it. Big However though....it says i put on 11 lbs overnight. well i had a big tea but.....i think its not particulary accurate.
and is there a way to put together a workout eg lots of yoga moves after each other without trainer demonstrating each one in between? will post my bmi later , might have to take an average me thinks. Is it coz its on carpet?

RedFraggle · 18/05/2008 20:48

Welcome MoopyMoo,
Yes, it is probably the carpet making it inaccurate. I've heard mention that you will be able to buy feet extensions for the balance board (or you could just stick a bit of wood or a yoga mat under the board)

You don't have to have the demonstration each time, just click to do the exercise, unfortunately you can't program a routine (as far as I know) but Kidsrus said that you can just use the arrows at the top of the screen to move in to the next exercise (haven't checked yet as I've only been stepping and boxing the last few days...
Happy Wii -fitting!

Twinkie1 · 18/05/2008 20:52

WFA - 34 (I am 33)
BMI - 22 (not sure what it should be though as DH was pissing me off at the time and I was just rushing through it!)

After I get made redundant tomorrow am going to do an hour a day when DS is at nursery to see if it is a big con or not!

RedFraggle · 19/05/2008 09:41

I managed to do 30 minutes this morning before work and am hoping to do another 30 minutes tonight too. Need to get back into the daily workouts to get the weightloss shifting!

mellyonion · 19/05/2008 11:31

RedFraggle · 19/05/2008 12:19

Hi Mellyonion,
I think the boxing was unloacked after a certain amount of time spent exercising. Can't remember for sure though... Have terrible memory!

I love the hula game. You blooming well feel it don't you?!

Nemoandthefishes · 19/05/2008 12:25

I am 30 and obese but have body of a 41yo!!
I have aimed to do 30mins 4 times a week and started last sunday. Managed to keep to it then and still managed to put 1lb on despite also walking for 4hrs on tues and 8hrs on wed so covering quite a fair distance[not on the wii fit but in RL]

mellyonion · 19/05/2008 13:23

kidsrus · 19/05/2008 19:08

welcome melly, nemo, twinkie and moppy.
i have been a complete failure this week i haven't been on for a few days will try in the morning.
to unlock the boxes you need to use most of the boxes to open more. i think i have opened them all now.
the stamp changes and you can choose the colour of your calendar too.
we seem to keep finding more things on it every time we use it.
no cheating on the jog my ds loves sitting and shakeing making his character fall over.

fifisworld · 20/05/2008 14:06

Can i join in??
We've had our's for a couple of weeks but haven't been on it at all this week apart from to check my weight and i'd put 1lb on which i wasn't surprised at
Im definatley going to try and do at least 30 minutes everyday this week, maybe more if i can.
My BMI was ideal but i still have pledged to lose 1 stone, so far have 2lb to go.
My wii fit age was 32 and im 27

redfraggle - Have you been dieting as well or is your inch loss just from the wii??

RedFraggle · 21/05/2008 08:46

Hi fifisworld,
No I haven't been dieting particularly. I have tried to not eat eat carbs like pasta, potatoes and rice after 6pm. But I have then been eating blooming caramel slices almost every night too....
I'm not very good at dieting as such. I eat very sensibly and healthily but I CANNOT live without chocolate

A lot of the inches from my weight were left over from having my son in June last year. I had a c-section (second one) and my tummy is rather flabby so I think any exercise is going to have dramatic effects at first. The thing I love about the Wiifit is that you can hop on for just 5 minutes if that's all you have time for. If you go to a gym you have to commit to a set amount of time and I just cannot do that at the moment with two young children. So I get up with the children and they have a play while I wiifit for 20-30 mins. Then they get bored and we go and have breakfast, I then try to pop on again in the evening for another 20-30 minutes once they are in bed.

fifisworld · 21/05/2008 15:58

You sound like me...although i had my 2nd section in Dec so its just my tummy really i want to tone up...my excuse is ive had 2 sections in 20 months

I also can't commit to goint to the gym with 2 small kids, im on my own from 6.30 am - 6pm so dont have time or energy to slog it at the gym

RedFraggle · 21/05/2008 19:34

lol fifisworld, very alike, I had two sections in 24 months. I am in the normal range for BMI but would like to be slimmer. I was an 8-10 for all of my teens and my early 20's and I am now more of a 14 post children (although starting to get back into my 12's with the Wiifit!) I am aiming to be back to 10 / 12 by late summer (fingers crossed)

I have done 45 minutes today. I went for a long jog (which had me gasping and wheezing like a crazed asthmatic) and then followed it with 13 minutes of boxing, some step and some yoga.

How are you getting on Kidsrus?

RIELOVESBACARDI · 21/05/2008 19:37

wii fit age 34 am really 36 but am over weight

theheadgirl · 21/05/2008 19:43

Ooh, can I join. My BMI is 24.5!!! So close to being overweight, but not quite! And my Wiifit age has come down from 56 to 35 (I'm 43 really)
I have the mail trainer (and incidentally the male autralian voice on my sat nav!) and I'm loving super hula, and the 2nd step so far plus all the yoga I've unlocked.
