I am seriously overweight (need to loose about 6 stone). This is now affecting my knees, high blood pressure etc. I feel awful and have tried the usual diets- ww, slimming Word, calorie counting etc.
I just can’t seem to be motivated to stick to them.
I am not hugely interested in food and my diet is fairly restrictive in what I will eat.
i have been reading about this diet - which sounds fairly helpful especially if you are insulin resistant (which I am).
it is fairly expensive to join the 12 week programme (£119)- but I wonder if I need to do something drastic???
Feeling a little sad about what I feel is a hopeless situation.
Has anyone done the plan and have anything to say?

Well done everyone. I did 7 minutes of exercise this morning (pathetic I know)- had brunch at 11 and dinner at 6.
Haven’t felt too bad but am hungry now. Think I will have an early night!

Early nights definitely the way forward!!!

Another smoothie for me this morning (there's one with oats and strawberries in one of the books). Leftover chicken casserole for lunch and dinner probably salmon fillet and green veg. Going to try and get on the peloton this morning before work.

Shamelessly book marking until I can google Fast800 and come back. I’ve never heard of it but it’s great reading everyone’s experience here

Queenelsarules · 20/02/2024 19:25

How is everyone getting on? I'm feeling frustrated as have sick kids at home so no chance to get out for a walk, feeling a bit penned in. Hoping to try and fit in some regular exercise once everyone back at school and I have some time.

Crazydogmumma · 20/02/2024 23:01

@Queenelsarules - that is hard being stuck in the house with poorly children- hope they feel better soon.
i managed a dog walk after work which felt good in the late sunshine.
Had roast chicken and greens for dinner and did not miss the roast potatoes or Yorkshire puddings!

@chalkyc2 - good idea to save the leftover for dinner the next day- I shall steal that tip.

Feeling positive at the end of day 2 (although slightly sad the 6 stone didn’t disappear overnight 🤣🤣🤣🤣)

I’ve ordered the books! I think I’m up for it 😏
thanks for the encouragement!

Anyone else find that eating makes them hungry? Going to start Fast 800 on Monday. Did 5:2 a few years ago and lost weight and found it easy but have put weight back on. Need to lose 1.5 stone. The hard time for me is after dinner. Have bought some Fast 800 keto hot chocolate drink so will try a small portion of that after dinner and see if it helps.

PhamieGowsSong · 21/02/2024 08:59

Ooohhh placemarking so I can join, need to do a food shop. I have 2 stone to lose, and really want to get healthier.

Already fast.

Good Luck on your goals everyone!

GeorgeSmileysSpecs · 21/02/2024 09:00

I lost loads on my first round, was never hungry and found it really easy.

When peri hit and I piled on weight, I tried again. I did the very same exercise and fast800 plan I’d done before and had so much confidence in it, I didn’t weigh myself for 8 weeks as I get obsessive about the numbers. Happily hopped on the scale to see the EXACT same starting weight and measurements.

I’d been eating a time-restricted, all natural 800 calories and exercising 6 days a week for 8 weeks with no results whatsoever!

After that, I got very despondent about my weight and ended up putting on 3 stone. I’m now at a point where I need to lose it for my health and longevity, rather than vanity, but I feel pretty hopeless!

Do you think the fast800 plan is worth another shot?

DollyParsons · 21/02/2024 09:31

I'm really tempted to join you and love the sound of an online plan with recipes.

I've tried the Human Being Diet but have never been able to get through the first 2 weeks (hardcore).

Not the best way to approach this before I've even started, but is a "day off" the plan an absolute disaster?

I travel a lot for work and sometimes have to eat what I can when I can. Does the odd blip derail the whole thing? Interested to know your experiences.

I have about 10kg to lose and sugar, carbs, snacks and overeating are my downfall.

livingonpurpose · 18/02/2024 17:20

I have been doing Fast 800 since the beginning of the year (coming to the end of week 7) and I've lost 28lbs (2 stone, or approx. 12kg). I am not using the app and just have the recipe books. I haven't cheated as I am determined to get to my goal weight and that it will stay off, to achieve this I need to get myself used to this way of eating, i.e. low carb, no sugar.

I find it easy enough to stick to 800ish cals a day over two meals, although I don't track I just eat two meals from the recipe book that are approx. 400 cals each.

Got another stone to lose until I'm a healthy BMI, and then will probably go for another half stone on top just so I make sure I stay in that zone. Should be there by about May I reckon.

I definitely recommend this diet, but the hardest thing about it is the mental shift you have to make first. I should have started this 2 years ago (and if I had I'd already be at my target weight) but I was not in the right mindset back then to stick with it.

Two stone in 7 weeks! That's amazing!

I've tried this WOE before but we fell off the wagon due to our love of wine. However, some of the recipes are gorgeous and we really enjoyed the food. The breakfast granola is a firm favourite, my DH will make it for himself, also the chicken with tomatoes and feta is another. And the halloumi/avocado/poached eggs.

Must try again.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 21/02/2024 20:55

Once you are into it this diet gets easier , I’m not hungry now , but ready for meals when it’s 1230 and 1730 . Apart from that I don’t snack or haven’t felt the urge to
amazing I was under 800 at 640 yesterday so I added a little more to todays food ,
normally do 300 cal lunch and 500 cal evening meal , hoping I can keep this up as it’s very early days , I’ve been so fed up with my weight so I seem to be able to do better than previous times
if I could lose 2 stone in 7 weeks I would be ecstatic, well done @livingonpurpose

Mercedesbenz2022 · 21/02/2024 20:58

@DollyParsons
i think if you avoid carbs as much as possible, say getting Greek salad instead of pasta salad at marks for example
most places you can get extra veg instead of carbs , and even if the only thing is burger , skip the bun , won’t do too much damage I wouldnt think , good luck

DollyParsons · 21/02/2024 23:13

Thanks @Mercedesbenz2022 that sounds sensible and doable. Going to give it a go

Mercedesbenz2022 · 23/02/2024 10:06

@Crazydogmumma
hey how are you ( and everyone else ) getting on ?
I bought the receipe book yesterday so am inspired to make meals that I will enjoy , and DP can have with a few carbs

I made beef stroganoff last night
it was delicious at 493 calories 27 protien and 3.5 carbs .

With cabbage ( lightly fry some fennel seeds , add chopped cabbage and a bit water , put on lowest heat possible and a lid , it’s really nice soft and easy to make )

Hope everyone is doing well and planning for the weekend

Crazydogmumma · 23/02/2024 22:55

@Mercedesbenz2022 - I am not doing too badly thank you. I mad the veggie chilli from the book with cauliflower rice and it wasn’t too bad. Have added fennel seeds to my shopping list and will give the cabbage a try.
Wierd that I don’t feel hungry but once I eat at 11 I then start to feel hungry 🤷‍♀️.
am drinking lots of water which helps fill me up.
how is everyone else getting on?

I am delighted!

Amazing @Crazydogmumma !!!

That's great and so motivating!! It does sometimes slow down as you get into it - my aim these days is a kg per week. Sometimes it happens sometimes I plateau and loose more the next. I think the trick is to keep going!!

I've had a few longer term milestones and hopefully this week will get into 'normal' bmi range and a total of 8 stone off. Which is huge and weird and almost unthinkable...!!

Crazydogmumma · 26/02/2024 21:54

@chalkyc2 - wow!!!!!! That is a truely amazing achievement!!!! How long has it taken you?

OP posts:
chalkyc2 · 26/02/2024 22:18

I started on April 20th last year. The date is ingrained in my memory! So just over 10 months. I knew it would be a year long project at least. I'd like to lose another 9kg to get comfortably within my bmi range (hit 25 today).

I need to keep on it though. Losing is one thing - maintaining might be quite another..,!

Mercedesbenz2022 · 27/02/2024 05:36

@Crazydogmumma
i lost 6 the first week , then a pound back on so 5 ,
I was amazed to see the drop when the plan is easy to follow

I don’t feel hungry until I’m actually due a meal 1230 and 1730

I don’t want to snack
I haven’t drank alcohol
it’s a mini miracle

I bought fast 800 keto cookbook , it was worth a tenner for the inspiration

Crazydogmumma · 27/02/2024 22:06

@Mercedesbenz2022 - that is a brilliant first week- well done.
now we both need to take inspiration from the amazing @chalkyc2 and dig in for the long haul. I am up for it!
