There are lots of threads for Wegovy or Ozempic, but is anyone out there still using Saxenda?

After 4 months of trying to get supplies, I bought one month of Wegovy, but since Christmas, I have been able to get Saxenda, so have switched to that.

Am looking for fellow saxers!

Much better..... though despite being fairly healthy when I went away, I did not lose weight. Anyway, back to work today, hopefully back on track with calorie deficit. I upped my dosage to 1.2 . So far so good

Maintain is still great!
I just weighed in and have lost 0.5 of a kilo this week. Telling myself that a loss is still a loss... (but of course, I wanted more!)

Must remember to drink water today....

Hey everyone! How are you all doing? I'm weighing in at 241.2 this morning so I have lost over 14 lb, a whole stone!

Well done!!!!

I have upped my dose to 2.4, seem to have plateaued a bit and it's frustrating me.

Have been doing my best to ignore the 'fuck this, just eat the biscuits' noises so hoping that upping the dose will get me back on track.

I am so tired as well. So very very very tired. I know this is a side effect but it doesn't help my mental energy...

I love reading these success stories!

I had my period this week and did not lose a pound. Lol. I seem to need to be in a serious calorie deficit like 1200 -1400 in order to lose weight at all. The Saxenda allows me to do that with the reduction of food noise and almost total elimination of snacking on unhealthy foods.

The Saxenda helps but I still need to do the work! This week my calorie intake was about 1500 a day. No weight loss.

I'm very hopeful that next week (post period) will be a very different week!

I am reading The Obesity Code at the moment and it is very eye opening! I am learning so much! Insulin and cortisol are the enemy!!! The Glucose Goddess is as right! Calories in vs calories out is utter BS.

I bought it on my kindle yesterday. I'm 46% through already. Omg I am so angry at the world right now.

It is not our fault. Yet we have been told it is from every turn.

justsaxy · 15/05/2024 17:13

@Kathabc I know, it's a real eye opener!

I saw my endocrinologist yesterday who is moving me over to Wegovy soon. She described Saxenda as a Peugeot and Wegovy as a Mercedes! 🤣

She was really pleased with what I have lost so far, she said I am not loosing too quickly and she can see that I have been making a big effort. So that helped to keep my spirits up.

Now just to wait for the insurance to approve me for Wegovy (I have 4 months of Saxenda in the fridge, so no rush).

Hi all, just started saxenda yesterday.

Weighed in this morning at 17 stone 4.5lbs. I am 5 5.

Not noticed any difference at all yet in appetite but will see.

I am in Ireland, getting it 'free' from the DPS*. Went to my GP to get it over a month ago, she gave me a bunch of blood tests and based on that I fit the criteria to get it covered.

*for non Irish, that means I pay €80 a month.

Kathabc · 02/07/2024 22:14

I started in April at 255.8 lb and this morning I was 230 lb so I have lost 25 lb.

Weight loss is slower now but still happening. You have to pay attention to what you eat. It helps to take a lot of protein, though low calorie versions are better.

Congratulations on starting!

To the other poster, did you ever get wegovy? I don't think it's available in Ireland yet. I'd love to get weekly injections rather than daily ones!

My doc has been really slow in supporting my dps request.... hopefully it will come through soon as 300 a month is killing me

Ah that is annoying. I was fully prepared to pay the full price but my dr actually suggested that I could get it covered. Took a month or so to get the approval - blood tests, waiting for results, another blood test, waiting for HSE to approve, then I had to make an appointment to have the nurse show me how to administer it.

Day 5 now and down to 17 stone 1.25 lbs. But my weight generally goes down on weekdays and back up on weekends so will see next week.

Not really noticing any major appetite changes, maybe eating and snacking a bit less.
