Hi all - new year, new thread 😁 Will try to link to this from the previous one but not sure if I can do it from the app.

In keeping with good beginnings I am off to have berries, nuts and yoghurt. Could murder a load of toast though!

Porridge made with raspberries, chia seeds, oat bran and soya milk, a Zoe almond cookie, seeded sourdough for lunch with mushroom pate and 25g of dark chocolate.

Turning40Soon · 01/03/2024 13:28

Oh my those cookies. They were a real struggle. I thought I was going to bring them back up again. Lots and lots of water in between each bite was the only way through. I have just had my lunchtime cookies and now have a headache brewing and I just cannot get rid of the taste. I have just been having water, but going to try some black tea to see if I can shift the taste.

I am really looking forward to my results. I am in a mini-menopause due to Tamoxifen and really want to get on top of my general health and develop some good eating habits that will last me for life. Fingers crossed.

I need to get back in the saddle. I am slipping! Yesterday was a complete disaster.

Though been not too bad today.
Breakfast - a slice of the Body plus Fit bread with peanut butter
Snack - coffee and 4 choc brazils
Lunch - 2 egg omelette with spinach, red pepper tomatoes and grated cheese, handful of pistachios

For supper I think it will be pan fried lemon sole with veg, and some white wine 🍷

I'm doing well on the scores and other metrics, but I'm eating a bit too much for weight loss... well, tbh it's more that I'm not being active enough at the moment, my main staple exercise is walking and it's been too rainy. Sure, not all calories are equal but they do matter and eating to appetite doesn't necessarily work in practice - and I don't see how it can if you want to lose weight rather than maintain.

DH is trying an app (I think it's the nutracheck one) which integrates with the Apple Watch, I'll probably try that when the Zoe subscription expires. I like the scores but I think I've got the hang of balancing things out pretty well. For instance DH bought a nice sourdough loaf yesterday, I had one slice at a time rather than two and balanced it with things like a green lentil salad at lunch and nut butter, cinnamon and a few walnuts on it for a snack. So an app that estimates calories out as well as calories in may be more useful going forwards.

This seems a dead thread. Anyone else still doing it? Is there a. More recent chat going on? I'm just restarting after a glucose sensor issue so I'm eating the cookies again today ready to start the challenges and play around.

Cookie eating hack I've discovered!!! So the last time I super struggled to get these vile cookies down in 20 mins and was horrified that I had to start the process again when the sensor stopped working the night after cookie eating! This morning I made a mug of black tea, poured into a bowl and soaked the biscuits in there. Broke them up and let them smoosh up a bit. I managed to eat them in five minutes! Last time it took me the full 20 mins. Going to do the same with the dreaded blue Cookies. Last time I I needed three pints of water to get them down. Vile play dough gag worthy things. I felt so sick after. I'm hoping the tea soaking will do the trick at midday and will mean I can knock them back relatively quickly and then get on with my day and eat something palatable later!

I need to talk to the Zoe team. I signed up a year ago, got my yellow box and was ready to go then some life stuff swiped me sideways and I never got started. Trying not to think about the money I wasted, and hoping there is a way to reset and start.

CalmConfident · 09/05/2024 08:41

I froze my muffins…but know this has evolved to blue cookies now

JaffaCake24 · 09/05/2024 20:00

The cookies are indeed uniquely vile. Not sure how they were able to make such a sickly concoction.

They look quite tempting but after two mouthfuls I was close to gagging.

I couldn’t eat all of the final muffin for fear of throwing it all back up.

thinkofablinkingnamewoman · 10/05/2024 10:21

Blimey I wish I'd thought of that before I struggled through those cookies @NDallornothinger !

I've had a bit of a blip - work stress - but am back on track now. Really interested to see how much worse I felt when I went off track - bizarrely it's done me good in that I now believe in the programme more.

Hi if you purchase the initial pack do you still then have to purchase the monthly membership? Or do you get enough insight with the first pack ?

Sorry I don't have the correct terminology, it's just what I remember from reading . Does it cost about £600 odd for the first year all in ?

And in your opinion, breaking it down to basics does it just promote a high fibre mainly plant based diet with fermented food and the 4 K s ?

Thanks

hippospot · 10/05/2024 15:26

I opted for 4 months' membership but with hindsight one or two months would have been enough. I couldn't be bothered to log my meals for more than a month and so I wasn't really making full use of the membership. I felt I didn't need to after a month either - I'd learned what I needed.

This is exactly same as me. I learned what I needed and gave up logging.

I also did this! Plus logging was very clunky.

wheresmymojo · 11/05/2024 16:07

I'm on test day today...

I could only manage 1.5 of the cookies, I was starting to heave with every mouthful.

I'm not even sure I'll ever be able to look at another biscuit again - if that's the only thing I get out of Zoe then it would be worth it because my four a day digestive habit isn't doing me any favours.

I might actually actively try to think about those cookies every time I see a biscuit to put myself off them for life Envy

Hello! Anyone in this thread that are willing to refer me? I would like to give it a try, and a discount would make it better... Thanks!

SadJaneGrey · 13/06/2024 11:58

Can you use the Zoe podcast code.

Lua · 13/06/2024 21:36
