I’m so hungry today because I’ve just not really bothered with any food, very unlike me! I had a roll and cheese this morning, 2 hifi bars and an apple. I need dinner now but I’m exhausted and don’t really know what I want. Dh is going to cook bolognese and pasta and I have some halloumi that needs eaten.

gluttonousgoldbug · 31/10/2023 19:48

So sorry to hear your sad news @Zebracat

I've been awol and eating like a horse. May have misunderstood the brief as gain 7:7. Put 4 lbs on at last weigh in. House hit with sickness bugs and tonsillitis and zero sleep so in survival mode at the minute.

Zebracat · 31/10/2023 21:25

Thank you for your kind messages. I’ve been gritting my teeth to get to the funeral, in the hope of closure. But now I feel really flat. Don’t knowhow to be without her. I know it will get easier.

Sedgwick · 31/10/2023 21:42

@Zebracat so sorry for your loss.

@gluttonousgoldbug its too difficult to diet when everyone is ill. Take the time and then regroup. Similar situation here, but just the common cold/asthma.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 02/11/2023 22:12

I lost 2lbs this week 😇 and got my 1/2 stone certificate and sticker 🎉

to be fair I did actually deserve it this week, I have had 3 good weeks and should have lost more last week so over the 3 I’ve averaged out.

as is now my weekly habit, I came home from group all motivated and sat and wrote my shopping list and planned my week. If I lose a pound this week I’ll be under the next stone bracket and in the 10’s which I haven’t seen on the scales for a really long time. My strategy is to stick to my plan, factor in sims treats (I want a fishfinger sandwich this weekend!) and to max my veg and water intake!

Theredjellybean · 02/11/2023 22:23

Brilliant @thenewaveragebear1983
I'm having an ok week but no running...not even walked dogs as last 24hrs been battered by storm Ciaran...we are seafront in north Cornwall...

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/11/2023 08:25

Morning ladies, how is the weekend looking? It’s wet and cold and miserable here. I drank wine last night so I feel a bit hungover. I need to drop dh at football and go to the supermarket. My meals are all planned out and I’m going to do what I did this last week and aim for fairly low Syns but max out the veg and drink gallons of water. I don’t feel as motivated this week, I’m tired and my meals aren’t as interesting.

@Theredjellybean i’ve managed a couple of short runs this week, I’ve not really managed to get out much recently. It’s lovely weather for it though when it’s not raining, crisp and cold. I’m going to try to get out tomorrow for a longer one.

poorpaws · 04/11/2023 08:57

Morning lovelies

@triplecheeese yes, you are right I was doing too much. I've rested this week and my stomach is now back to normal. I've said this on here before but I am a creature of extremes, I either give it my all and then some or I don't do anything at all.

It's going well here, despite not exercising this week (apart from dog walks of course). I thought if I cut out my dvd exercises I'd gain weight but I haven't and it's looking ok to face the scales on Monday 😁.

How are you all? I'm totally sick of the rain. We've faced torrential rain on our walk for five consecutive days and two of the dogs hate it. This morning 98% chance of rain so I'm not dressed yet, having a lazy, cosy morning and I'll take them this afternoon.

I hope everyone is doing well on 7/7, as I said before (I do repeat myself too often) even if you only lose 3 lbs or so it's still a loss and every 1 lb loss will add up to a stone loss eventually, so don't give up and keep on trying.

How are your Christmas plans going? We are having a really, really quiet time this year so it will be lovely. Christmas presents for DP are a nightmare, he has everything he wants and a lot more money than I do. I've done really well for him for the last 3 years but this year I'm really stumped.

Anyway I'm waffling so I'll get back to my coffee. Have a good Saturday everyone and good luck for your weigh-in.

Theredjellybean · 04/11/2023 12:04

morning all....i also have a hangover from drinking too much wine last night
Had a very old friend for my DP come to stay for weekend , bringing with him , his new woman..its all a bit complex and we definitely have not got the whole story...anyway she was ok but not a bundle of fun and laughs and so i probably had a glass too many to ease the evening.
I am at work today so my DP is entertaining them...

I have lost 1 lb this week - i am pleased with that, considering i have barely left the house !
I have for th elast 4-5 weeks not actually had scales at home, i used to weigh 2 x a day and definitely got affected by what the scales said...now i just weigh myself on a saturday at work..it seems to somehow be making a difference .
I am not obsessing and eating well/healthily/not eating for wrong reasons etc and apart form last night i have been drinking a lot less alcohol since having covid.

so i am now at 4 lbs total loss.
I am so pleased and all my winter clothes that were feeling snug last year are fitting much more easily...

How many weeks do we have left ? 2 ???

poorpaws · 04/11/2023 13:32

@Theredjellybean only 1 week and 2 days left (counting today), we'd better all knuckle down this week.

OP posts:
Theredjellybean · 04/11/2023 13:39

OH......right...i would like another 1 lb off tbh - which would get me to 70 kgs..
buggerations better start thinking of a pre christmas mini goal now...and get the tinsel on that wagon !

thenewaveragebear1983 · 04/11/2023 20:12

Annoyingly today has gone awry and ended up with too much to drink, toasted marshmallows and other sugary stuff. Dh and the dc are having a takeaway but I have, sensibly, resisted that, but even so. My choices haven’t been great today.

poorpaws · 04/11/2023 20:55

I knew this week was too good to be true! I've done so well until tonight when I decided, for the first time this week, to have a granola bar as my dessert. All good, not too many calories ... then I followed it with a Double Decker bar.

I have to keep in mind that a few months ago that would be followed by many more chocolate bars so there is some improvement but still ...

I've got 8 days to repair the damage before the big weigh-in so I'm hanging on to the wagon for grim death. I'm driving over tomorrow night to pick you all up for the last week of 7/7. Yee-hah!

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 05/11/2023 09:23

Ah @poorpaws it happens. But also look at the positive in that you had your treat, you enjoyed it, you stopped. ⭐️

I had a truly horrible night last night, too much gin early in the evening and a doze on the sofa left me wired and my mind racing at bedtime. Dh (who has had no, in his words, “petrol station food” for a month - it’s hugely improved his skin and his snoring) had a Chinese last night and snored constantly. I could hear him through my earplugs. Needless to say, he got woken up with a sharp jab more than once. And too much sugar after pretty much 6 weeks/7 weeks of healthy food left me feeling icky and my stomach has that weird sloshy empty feeling this morning.

today- baked oats and fruit, lunch will be eggs I think in some form, and then dinner will be a roast chicken with loads of veggies, I’m aiming for very low Syns this week as if I lose 1lb I’m under 11 stone for the first time this year pretty much. Hopefully last night won’t have hindered that too much- the poor sleep as much as the food/drink. I did run 6 glorious autumnal hilly miles this morning which was really lovely. I’ve missed running.

poorpaws · 05/11/2023 12:47

@thenewaveragebear1983 it just goes to show that healthy eating does more than just weight loss. If only we could all do it permanently, ditching the alcohol and chocolate, we'd look like supermodels with glowing skin and shining hair <sigh>.

You are doing so well though and I'm sure you'll be jn the 10 stone zone very soon so very well done to you.

I hope everyone is doing well on this lovely sunshiny Sunday.

No idea how I'm getting on. Been in the hospital with youngest DC for 3 days so I'm just all over the place. May just write 2023 off and start again in January...

poorpaws · 05/11/2023 13:36

@gluttonousgoldbug I'm so sorry to hear that and I hope DC is ok now. No way can you think about healthy eating when you will be so worried. As you say start on 1 January, it's on a Monday and as you know all diets start on a Monday.

I really hope your DC is doing well and you are managing to rest too. 💐

Good morning all

A 1.75 lb loss to report today, it's going down and I'm very pleased.

One week today will see the end of 7/7 for ever so give it your best shot for the last week.

Good luck to everyone weighing in, I hope you get a good loss.

It's a lovely sunny autumn day today. After all the rain in the past week I'll be pleased to stay dry today 🤞

Food shopping this morning so on our last week I have to make good choices.

Have a lovely Monday everyone.

Good morning. 98 kilos for me, the highest I’ve been in a long time. But it was 98.5 earlier this week. Seeing 98. anything really shocked me. I have put plans in place. Next week will not be a gain or a sts. Next week will see 98 kilos banished to the far ends of the universe, and 96 seeming like a possibility this side of Christmas. In fact I will make a public commitment here to lose 3 kilos, which is about 7 pounds before Christmas. So I’ll be doing the 7/7 just a bit later than you lot. Wish me luck.

Sedgwick · 06/11/2023 12:05

@gluttonousgoldbug hope you and your DC are doing ok.

Well done @poorpaws . Good week for me too, another 1.5 lbs down. That’s 7.5 lbs down week 6/7. Stirfry tonight, using up lots of bits of veg in fridge.

poorpaws · 06/11/2023 17:10

Nice loss @Sedgwick, well done. Now you've got me craving a stir fry. Funnily enough I'd decided to have a couple of chicken stir fry's this week, went food shopping today and completely forgot so back to salads.

Once 7/7 is over (not too long now) I'm going to so enjoy some different, mostly cooked in slow cooker, meals. I'm looking forward to one of my "chuck everything into the slow cooker" warming meals.

@gluttonousgoldbug ❤️❤️❤️ been there, it's horrid. Sending much love and sympathy.

great determination @Zebracat good luck with your 3kg!

well done to all those who are losing and good luck to everyone!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 06/11/2023 18:57

I might carry on in the 7/7 mindset. It’s been the most consistent 6 weeks I’ve had in a long time and when I consider all the things I’ve had going on (2 weekends away, 3 birthdays, half term, puppy …) to get to the end 8.5lbs lighter is just amazing for me and I’m really chuffed. I weigh in on Thursday and then I’ll weigh in for the end of the 7 weeks but I think I’m going to keep my head in the game for another 4 weeks at least, until all the Christmas madness begins.

poorpaws · 06/11/2023 20:02

@thenewaveragebear1983 you really have been doing so well and you are so positive.

It's a good idea to keep up the good work for a bit longer whilst you are in the right headspace. It makes such a difference when it all goes in the right direction. I am so pleased we started 7/7, it's been such a positive experience.

Good luck for Thursdays weigh-in, although it doesn't sound as if you really need it, you are doing brilliantly.
