Hi all, after years of too many takeaways, I’ve thrown myself into it over the last three weeks.

I am doing the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan, and have lost 7lbs so far. I’ve been taking ‘after’ pics each week to motivate myself. I know it’s early days, but I feel like I can see a difference already, OH can’t see it. Am I kidding myself? I have another 2st to lose so I know I’m in it for the long haul!

@GinBlossom94 thank you... any help would be great.... I'm not great with veg or meat and I'm the most fussy eater, everyone is saying eat protein and veg I'm not sure what other alternatives there are for me 🙈

Easier said than done but can you train yourself out of snacking? I have protein shake and add collagen and Kefir to it to break my fast about 2pm, then have my main meal at about 6pm, main meal I have whatever I'm making for the family but I avoid processed foods for us all (I'm not perfect and do resort to jar sauces etc sometimes). I'm not a fan of eggs and want a protein rich "breakfast", people will come along and say protein shakes are rubbish but we all have to tweak it to make it work for us.

Full of period pains, damp from being out in the rain, but oddly enough, feeling good today. It’s early days but I feel like my jaw line is coming back! Hope you’re all having a good day 🥰

You're looking fab, should get a bit of a whoosh weight wise soon if it's shark week too!

@Smudge2201

You look fab and bright eyes in your most recent pic here.

Whatever your doing is clearly working.

🤣 didn’t think of that! Maybe! I am going to a Lido with my mum tomorrow for her birthday, first time in a swimming costume for years, so that should be fun 🙈

@Smudge2201 have a great time!

Redruby2020 · 24/07/2023 23:24

There was a woman on TikTok who spoke about this fasting, and has two meals a day which is purely protein and veg etc. Totally unsustainable long term sorry. For me with binge issues which I am waiting for an appointment about, it would just push me to eat everything in my power when the eating times are permitted. Also with taking meds for example. You are not told to go without food for all that time.

Totally have to do what I right for you. I do have three meals, just much more healthy than I was having before.

What works for one won't work for another, fasting is good for your body, there's plenty of research on it. I hope you manage to get sorted soon

Your face is 100% less puffy OP. You look lovely!

I'm 3 weeks into 16:8 and also calorie deficit and these are my results.
It's plateaued a bit now I guess from the water coming off but I'm so used to these eating habits I don't think I could stomach 3 meals a day.

What hours do you eat in OP?

Goodness you look like you’ve lost 2-3 stone..

Really sustainable. Two meals a day for the last couple of years. New patterns set. Partner is two stone lighter. I'm maintaining a half stone loss ( all I needed)

Two meals a day, protein and healthy veg/salad also means we can have a choice of other foods too sometimes.

We both have long working days and like to eat a biscuit or chocolate in the evening with a cuppa.

Smudge2201 · 25/07/2023 14:38

Have just been to the local lido with my mum and swam a leisurely 25 length, first exercise is goodness knows how long, and had a nice soak in the jacuzzi - onwards and upwards!

Weigh in day! After a week of feeling bleurgh with period pains, and one evening of giving in to the carb cravings and having Pringles, wine, and a cheese roll, I’m somehow managed to lose 2.5lbs. So just a pound and a half off a stone in five weeks.

I do think I need to up my calorie count a bit though as I only have two stone now to lose and I’m not sure the rate I’m going is too quick to be sustainable? Will start tracking on an app. Hope you’re all having a nice weekend 😘 ps - going out for a cheap and cheerful family lunch today at a Sizzler - not renowned for their healthy choices - so that could be fun!

I wouldn't change it now, see how it goes as your loss this week will include water weight from period. You're doing great, well done
