Three weeks in, before and after pics

Hi all, after years of too many takeaways, I’ve thrown myself into it over the last three weeks.

I am doing the 16:8 intermittent fasting plan, and have lost 7lbs so far. I’ve been taking ‘after’ pics each week to motivate myself. I know it’s early days, but I feel like I can see a difference already, OH can’t see it. Am I kidding myself? I have another 2st to lose so I know I’m in it for the long haul!

Hi.... I'm also doing 16/8 for nearly two weeks now, I've not lost any weight as I have been weighing myself daily. I am on my monthly cycle this week tho. Last week I dropped down to 12st 2lbs from 12st 5lbs and weighed myself yesterday and shot back up to 12st 6lbs. IF is easy but it's what I eat during the eating window what's hard 😖

MumsDailyNap · 20/07/2023 18:33

@Smudge2201 u look great and well done for losing the weight xx

Smudge2201 · 20/07/2023 18:38

Thank you! And well done for sticking with it. I am going to be in the same boat as you re: cycle next week so we just need to factor that in 😊

Thank you! Long way to go. Hoping the lines from nose to mouth become less. And for health reasons too of course 😊

Also, is anyone else here doing 16:8? I am finding it pretty easy to stick to - but maybe that’s because it’s summer (UK summer 🤣) so it’s easier to have salad.

Looking good OP. Well done. X

I'm omad so I guess it's the same as IF I eat at dinner only so usually a 23:1 window. I have done this for about a decade just to keep the food noise away. I'm not inflexible with it, if I have a work lunch or breakfast I will attend but out of preference I prefer this way

Littleme2023 · 21/07/2023 07:39

You definitely look less puffy in the face! Well done. I’ve also started intermittent fasting this week and em excited to see how it goes. Xx

Hotwaterbottlealways · 21/07/2023 08:05

You look fantastic OP. Well done. I’m starting Monday so will follow for tips 😀

DustyLee123 · 21/07/2023 08:08

When are you eating OP ?
I’d struggle to do this, as I need to eat breakfast at 7.30 as I often don’t get to eat lunch until 2pm. I can’t go until 2pm without eating !

StMarysTrainee · 21/07/2023 08:10

I really think you can see a difference! You’ve helped re motivate me (after a breakfast of chocolate biscuits ugh) so thank you for your post. Slow and steady and you can do this - 3 weeks is already brilliant.

Tiredjoanna · 21/07/2023 08:14

Definitely see a difference, you look 😃

Ah I’m glad I’ve motivated you! You can do it, take it a day at a time x

@DustyLee123 You think you can't, but you do get used to it. I eat between 12-8pm but sometimes have to hang on until 1pm or 2pm if I have meetings at work or am out and about.

I'm not going to lie, my stomach rumbles constantly until 11am (thank God for WFH!) but I'm just used to it as I've been 16:8 for over a year now.

Summer2424 · 21/07/2023 13:31

Hi @Smudge2201 you look gorgeous hun💃
Well done for keeping at the healthy diet xx

L1R876 · 21/07/2023 13:31

@MrsJBaptiste do you get hungry before bed or during the night?

BusyCaz · 21/07/2023 13:52

One of the many things I am doing at the moment is roughly 18/6.

As I am calorie counting as well I am finding it easy to stick to the calorie limit in this time.

I also find I don't feel that hungry until I've eaten the first thing, kind of like it breaks the seal hahaha.

You do look slimmer in the face @Smudge2201

MrsJBaptiste · 21/07/2023 16:49

@L1R876 I try and stick to 1500 calories (Mon-Fri) so depending on what we've had for dinner, I sometimes do go to bed feeling hungry.

I know this all seems a bit disordered - going to bed hungry, stomach rumbling in the morning... but eating this way allows me to maintain my weight and have treats at the weekend. Not for everyone but I can work with it!
