I’ve lost 3 stone with slimming world.
i joined in April, a month after having my daughter and I’ve finally lost some weight after years of finding it really difficult to lose anything.
i have 2 more stone to lose at least, I was 17 stone at my heaviest. I love the fact I can buy nicer clothes and feel more confident in them and I know longer feel really embarrassed about my size.
what was the best thing about losing weight for you?

I’m up for that because I really do need a motivational kick up the arse!

Chuckle94 · 14/11/2022 14:38

I’ve still got a long way to go but the fact I’m 3 stone lighter than I was earlier this year makes me want to keep it up. Sometimes it’s so hard to find the motivation, but I would be gutted if I got that big again.
there’s some amazing weight losses mentioned, so inspiring x

3 stone?! Well done! That must feel amazing.

Well done Chuckle! I’ve also lost 3 stone on SW and have a similar amount still to go. I have never lost this amount before and if I’m really honest, I didn’t think I was capable of it. I just thought I didn’t have enough willpower and I was going to be obese forever. I couldn’t believe it when the BMI calculator said I wasn’t obese anymore!

I used to park at the far end of car parks in the hope that nobody would park next to me. Now I don’t have to worry and getting in the car isn’t a squeeze anymore. I am fitter than ever and really enjoying exercise now.

Those of you that are trying to lose large amounts, feel free to join us on the 10st to lose thread. It's really helped me - last year I lost just over 1 stone on my own, but this year with their support I've lost a further 6.

I know it's early days but I'm so happy I was supposed to only weigh once a week but I'm weak 🤣
Started on sat so done 3 full days and I've lost 4.4lbs 🎉

ditavonteesed · 15/11/2022 08:43

It has to be clothes, I can wear whatever I want and know it will fit, be comfy and look how it's supposed to. Also discovered that I love exercise.

Walking into any clothes shop knosing they sell my size. Seeing myself in pictures and not wanting to cry.

And sadly, being treated like a normal person and not like a piece of rubbish. I know this may not be universal for all bigger people, but when I was bigger I was either completely ignored or made fun of, people leaning out of car windows making mooing noises, making comments "would you like at the arse on that" "she doesn't need to eat any more McDonald's". I don't get any comments like that anymore. I found people wanted to talk to me more, mainly to talk about my weight loss which got a bit grating after a while.

Voowoo · 03/07/2023 18:34

I'm 16lb down and into my healthy BMI again, and the benefits have been the reduction in my foot and knee pain, clothes fit loads better, I feel confident again. Better skin and periods from eating low sugar. Also my monthly migraines have stopped. My blood sugar feels a lot more stable, no crazy highs and lows. My nails have grown stronger (from eating proper non-processed foods?). I've still been eating whatever I want, just not processed crap and not massive portions so I feel quite in control and like I'm.actually nurturing myself for once, high protein and good fats, lots of veggies and dark chocolate, oat bran, avocado etc. Which has had a knock-on effect on improving the kids diets by stealth..

And a more personal one- I have full sleeve tattoos and my arms look and feel better slimmer and toned 😂
