I've got 4 stone to lose and understand its going to take a long time to do it but it's taking even longer because I can never actually get started. (I'm also a stone heavier than when I "started")

I've sat down and planned out 5 daily rules and rather than focusing on what the scales say I'm going to focus on making sure I tick them off daily (or realistically at least 3) and the scales should take care of themselves. (Calorie goal/exercise bike/more water/10k steps/50 squats or sit ups)

You can follow whatever works for you, my theory is its the regular posting and accountability is what will make it stick...I hope!

Hi @Solongtoshort , welcome!
Run AND 30 Day Shred is impressive!!
i’m normally knackered after a 30 Day Shred session, BUT overall find it’s the quickest route to looking different and losing weight quickly, so def worth doing.

Solongtoshort · 26/06/2022 17:29

Oops l just noticed on my post l say l am a size 30, well that’s just my fat fingers l am a size 20.

@tigerbear l love the 30 day shred, l have an active job so it’s not really a lot to me the running Kills me.

FrothyThoughts · 26/06/2022 18:43

Well done @CuriousMama !

Welcome @Solongtoshort !

I'm two pounds up again. Probably down to huge takeaway last night and drinking. We went out for pub lunch today as well.

I had to drag myself to this board because I'm fed up with my lack of will power but actually reading your updates has lifted my mood. So thank you all for that!

Tomorrow is another day. But tonight I'm going to find some YouTube work out to do. And tomorrow it's DH's turn to get up with DD so I will try and get out for an early morning jog. I really used to love those the last time I was on a health kick.

sohosoho · 26/06/2022 19:26

Late to the party but can i join you please?

Going to brave the scales in the morning and shall report back.

FrothyThoughts · 27/06/2022 17:59

Welcome @sohosoho !

I'm back up to 11st but I have been more active. I had a little dance workout in the kitchen last night and I went for a run this morning- well half run, half fast walk, but any movement is a bonus right now!

sohosoho · 27/06/2022 18:10

Thanks for the welcome @FrothyThoughts

I weighed this morning and I'm 11stone.

lizard202 · 27/06/2022 18:43

Hi all, just found this thread. I am 45, peri-menopausal and need to lose 4.5 stone. I have a family history of cancer and diabetes and as my weight goes up and up I'm really worried. My problem is that 'diets' usually end up with me gaining so I'm really keen to hear tips and tricks you use (fasting/calorie counting/cutting carbs etc)? I hope it's not too late to join and how you all continue losing xxx

sohosoho · 27/06/2022 18:48

Hello @lizard202 I started today.

lizard202 · 27/06/2022 18:53

Fantastic, we can be newbies together. How did day one go?
Full disclosure, I'm 5ft3 and over 14 stone so a lot to lose, but even a couple of stone would make a huge difference. Ok daily goals
1-drink at least 1.5l water
2-at least 10 mins exercise a day
3-no evening snacking
4-snack on fruit not sweets
5- tbc 🤷🏼‍♀️

tigerbear · 27/06/2022 20:56

Welcome @lizard202 and @sohosoho !
I was scheduled to do 4 sessions with my PT this week, but tested positive for Covid this morning, so have had to cancel them all 😬

Does anyone else find that as soon as you commit to really going for it fitness/food wise, Life gets in the way??

Will see how I feel tomorrow, and hopefully will be able to do a 30 Day Shred workout 🙏

lizard202 · 27/06/2022 21:15

Ah no, I hope you're feeling ok

tigerbear · 27/06/2022 22:04

Thanks @lizard202 not too bad, sore throat, cough and feeling tired and run down.

flightofthesevenmillionbumblebees · 27/06/2022 22:20

May I join please? I'm 14st2 and 5ft6. I'd like to get down to 10/10 and a half. Been planning to try and get myself dieting and exercising again for a while now!

Dd2 is coming up to 5 months. Dropped 2 stone since having her but I think that's partly because I lost excess fat during pregnancy and since birth have been breastfeeding. I absolutely should be capitalising on the extra calories used by breastfeeding to give myself a jump start!

I'm also having to have a dairy free diet as dd has cmpa. You'd think not being able to eat chocolate and ice cream etc would be helping massively but damn them they've gone and made decent dairy free alternatives 😂

I do the school run every morning but that's only about 20mins walking total so I'm not very active. I did do a 10 minute yoga video today 😊 so I need to be trying to push myself to do that more. I've done 30 day shred a few times (only completed it twice though) and quite enjoy intense but shorter exercise so might try and get myself doing that, even if it's only 3 days a week to begin with.

Wishing everyone luck with their goals 😊

CuriousMama · 28/06/2022 10:06

I'm still celebrating my birthday so will weigh myself Monday 🙈

tigerbear · 28/06/2022 10:11

Welcome @flightofthesevenmillionbumblebees !
30 Day Shred is the quickest route for me!
3 x a week really makes a difference.
I’ve just weighed myself, and have lost 3 pounds - yay!

@CuriousMama happy belated birthday!

flightofthesevenmillionbumblebees · 28/06/2022 10:54

Well done @tigerbear 😊 always motivating to see the number going down!

Solongtoshort · 28/06/2022 22:35

@CuriousMama hope you had a lovely birthday x

@tigerbear how you are feeling ok and get over covid soon.

So last night l went to bed and had the best sleep l woke up feeling fresh and relaxed. I am getting more exercise running to the toilet all the time since l have upped my water intake, time to do some pelvic floor exercises too 🤣🤣🤣.

CuriousMama · 28/06/2022 23:44

Thanks I celebrated a bit tonight at a Greek taverna. Wasn't drinking though.

tigerbear · 29/06/2022 22:37

@flightofthesevenmillionbumblebees thanks, I keep thinking it was a fluke, and next time I weigh in, I’m sure I’ll have put it back on, but let’s see!

thanks @Solongtoshort / felt pretty tired today, but hoping to do a workout tomorrow. Haven’t done any exercise for 4 days 😬

How’s everyone else getting on?

tigerbear · 12/07/2022 11:16

How is everyone getting on?
Diet has gone tits up, due to my birthday, which somehow turned into a week of celebrations. All lovely, however numerous times eating out, having people over etc, has taken its toll.

However, exercise is going well - did swimming, plus 3 x PT sessions last week, and looking to increase on that this week.
Beginning to see real definition in my legs, especially thighs, however my tummy still looks decidedly wobbly.

Only 5 weeks to go until honeymoon (and I’ve another holiday before that, to go see family, which always sets me off balance, as not in my usual exercise routine there, plus loads of eating out)

tigerbear · 15/07/2022 22:00

I’ve only got 4 weeks to go until honeymoon, and am feeling rubbish.
Ordered a load of new swimwear, tried it on, and it looked hideous.
My stomach is so huge and wobbly, I just stared at myself in the mirror and wanted to cry.
