I have never, ever lost weight in my life. Year by year, it has been creeping up and the dress sizes have been creeping up.
So towards the end of last week I downloaded the NHS 12-week plan on my phone and every day I've been eating 1,800 calories (the lowest amount it suggested that I should eat to lose weight, it's still fairly high as I'm tall). It's quite faffy with all the mathematics and portion size measuring, but I'm now 5 days in, losing weight and feeling really positive and, the main thing, IN CONTROL!!!!!
I've never calorie counted or measured portion sizes before, so I'm feeling really hopeful that this is a long-term change and for the first time in my life, I will slowly lose weight and keep it off.
The worst thing is the evenings, when I typically snack on goodies, and then going to bed on that slightly hungry/empty feeling, but I am staying strong and really hope this will pay off down the line.
After all, the next three weeks / months / years are going to pass, whether you like it or not, so I may as well do something productive and not regretful in them :)
