Welcome @Mrsbrownsbuoys and another welcome to @Winecheesesleep !
Ask any questions you want and someone will be able to help I am sure.
As you'll have seen the emphasis is on cutting out wheat, ( so no bread or pasta as a rule but some of us manage with a small amount asa treat) .
Cut out sugar ( but again some manage with a little as a treat - the trick is not to let it get out of hand, which is the hard bit, so some find it easier just not to eat it, and have found that the palate re trains itself over time.)
No ultra processed foods of any kind and no veg oils apart from extra virgin olive oil. Cook from scratch , using fresh ingredients as much as you possibly can. For me this is the golden rule from which everything else flows.
The book explains the science behind this way of eating, and lots of us are finding it really works for us.
A typical day for me would be:
Breakfast : Don't always have it, but if so full fat Greek yoghurt ( don't buy low fat anything. Full of sugar - I make my own coz I enjoy it ) with berries or a veg smoothie ( not everyone's cup of tea granted ) Flax seed sprinkled on / in either of these is good as it's full of fibre and other good stuff. Several gallons black coffee
Lunch: Salad with cheese, cold meat, eggs ( hard boiled or omelette or a frittata ) or home made soup
Dinner: meat or fish with lots of veg including leafy greens and a few potatoes, or maybe a home made casserole of some kind, Greek yoghurt again for pud, or cheese and home made oatcakes ( home made as most contain veg oil) Then , more often than I should, I have two or three squares of dark chocolate in bed whilst reading or watching rubbish on my iPad.
Generally I don't snack, but an apple and cheese usually hits the spot if I am genuinely hungry, I've recently taken up tea drinking and unlike with coffee, I take that with milk, which fills me up a bit, and often find that is a good distraction from mindless snacking, as is the ritual of making it. ( I have my own little yellow teapot.)
My triggers for over eating are: tiredness, boredom, stress and plain, simple inattention. Last night for example, I started messi g on the internet whilst eating ( in spite of resolving not to) and found I had eaten far more than I actually needed to satisfy my appetite.
I conveniently 'forget' that I am smaller than I was, and so need toadjust my portions accordingly.
Portion control has always been my Achilles heel. Or one of them...
Finding it hard going this year adjusting to the clock change. My bodyclock is still running on BST. As are my cats, unfortunately!
