Hello there!
Im a mum of a little boy who is soon to be 3 and im fed up of being FAT-Ive yoyoed up and down about 2 stone since he was born and now i need to really get this weight licked.
Im planning on doing weight watchers and wondered if there is anyone in the Essex UK area.
Also am planning weekly updates with weigh in and moral boosting.
Sean (ds) has just started nursery 2 mornings a week and the gym (LA Fitness)is right next door (so no excuse) I'm going to go on his school mornings and both weekend days-I also walk the dog for between 30-60 mins each morning but that can be slow going with my little one in tow!
Please join me, im sure that if we all band together and spur each other on we can do this!!!

Can I join in late? I have just started the Liver Cleansing Diet. Am currently somewhere around 85kgs and want to get to about 70 - but not before Xmas! However I need the motivation to keep me going so wanted to join in with everyone else. Would like to lose as much as I can before Christmas.

Has anyone else tried the Liver Cleansing Diet? I have started it before and it worked wonders, but have not yet managed to stick it out for the full length of time.

Intruiged SArahu - what does it involve?

I need help! Have tried every diet going (although haven't yet come across liver cleansing diet...!). So here's the scoop - Have 2 DD's aged 2.5yrs and 13 weeks. After birth of second DD, managed to loose quite a bit doing Slimming World then got sick of it and went onto the "eat as much as you like, especially takeaways and white wine diet". Needless to say, tons of chub has returned. Need some serious motivation but by the time we've eaten tea, I'm ready for a chocolate fix and it just goes from bad to worse.

SORRY THIS IS LONG _ info on Liver Cleansing DIet!!

  • it is a diet invented (is that the right word?!) by a doctor in Australia.........basically the idea is that the liver is the main fat burning organ of the body and so by eating the right sort of foods and cutting out others, you can improve the function of your liver, which in turn will have lots of knock-on positive effects on other aspects of your health. I have the book (you can order it from Amazon) and all the blurb at the beginning does actually seem to make sense.......there are also testimonials from people who have tried this diet (though of course only positive thigns will be put in the book!). It is not actually a diet aimed at people who want to lose weight more at people who want to improve overall well-being. It says that it helps people with all sorts of medical problems. Losing weight is just one of the positive side effects!

Sorry am waffling. Basically it is an eight week eating plan - you cut out dairy products, and basically any refined/processed foods. SO I'm eating TONS of fruit and veg and I can also have eggs, chicken and fish (red meat is cut out too). The first two weeks and the last two weeks are easier and the middle four harder, cos that is when you also cut out egg yolk and chicken.

TO be honest it's a bit of a hassle preparing the foods sometimes (there are loads of recipes in the book and it tells you what you can and can't eat) - but you DO feel better after a while.

I have tried it before but had to stop after 5 weeks because I found out I ws pregnant and so needed to drink milk, eat cheese, etc. Mind you in the 5 weeks that I did it for I lost 6kgs (what's that in lbs?); I also felt better - more energy, less "foggy brain", no funny taste in my mouth when I woke up, all the dark circles/bags under my eyes had gone............

I am now on day 4 of this attempt - and currently am having headaches a lot as the toxins come out......but I know that by next week I will feel better.

SOrry this is so long, well done if you read this much waffle!!

Keep us posted Sarahu, would love to know if you feel better next week.

I feel better already - the headaches have gone, I'm less tired, the dark circles under my eyes have gone and i feel geenrally calmer! In fact I woke up this morning raring to go (which is not something that usually happens!) with a clear head and lots of energy. Have now done a full day's work (I'm not in the UK) and yet I am nowhere near as tired as I was last Friday.
