Where would you throw it?
I need to lose 2 stone and just can't get started. Has anyone successfully chucked money at it.
I suspect I need to plan better but under a lot of stress just now and everything is a bit chaotic

Good quality food: grass fed and raised with no or minimum amount of hormones and antibiotics. Or delivered prepped meals.

getmeavodka · 01/09/2020 19:06

I have lost almost 4 stone on saxenda with no side effects what so ever. Best money ever spent. It was medically managed through a dietician

Gigia · 01/09/2020 20:14

My PT has helped me work through my food issues (previous eating disorder and also chronic comfort eater) and also helped me come up with a food plan that I can stick to. I am now at a very healthy weight and can maintain.

Gigia · 01/09/2020 20:15

Also have a back issue and no burpees here- weight lifting has changed my shape completely.

uggmum · 01/09/2020 20:55

I have had no side effects from Saxenda and I've followed a managed plan.

All drugs have side effects but the fact that it's been licensed for use for a high street chemist, then I wouldn't call it f**king dangerous.

I use it combined with healthy eating and an exercise regime.

If I had unlimited funds I would hire a personal chef and trainer or bugger off to a health farm. But sadly I don't

mellowgreenspring · 01/09/2020 20:57

Long term, personal trainer, learn how to lift weights.

Also long term nutritionists, learn how to eat right 😍

mellowgreenspring · 01/09/2020 21:00

A good PT can help the back situation, and make sure they are degree educated not just 6 weeks PT online course trained!

35-50 per hour and it will be life changing, I'd suggest you got to a private gym, mine is one-to-one but in a private studio.

2littleguineas · 01/09/2020 21:06

I'm doing Team RH, it's literally been life changing for me.
I've also signed up with a PT once a week and do her workouts twice a week besides.

hamstersarse · 01/09/2020 21:11

Buy one of those 3D mirrors and make yourself look at your body to get your motivation in place

All diets work if you stick to them

Vodkacranberryplease · 01/09/2020 21:16

Saxenda! On it at the moment (plus free Noom trial). It kills your appetite! As in you could easily do 800 cals a day or even less without blinking.

But careful of the 'head eating' ie not hungry but maybe bored or just fancy it. Hence the noom which kind of helps.

PermanentTemporary · 01/09/2020 21:18

I agree with others re a personal trainer, plus I'd send ds to stay somewhere else for six months so that I can just not have any food in the house, that's worked for me in the past Grin

Vodkacranberryplease · 01/09/2020 21:19

Oh and saxenda is not 'fucking dangerous'. It's Liraglutide. The only side effects are nausea (which goes away) which can be managed by one of the -prozole stomach meds. I do wish people would get their fucking facts straight,

Oh and exercise is great. It also makes you VERY hungry.

Bluewavescrashing · 01/09/2020 21:21

I'd hire a swimming pool. The whole thing, to myself for an hour a day. I love swimming but hate sharing a pool with other people!

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 01/09/2020 21:23

Without a doubt .. Weight loss surgery. The only long term sustainable method of weightless proven to work after a 5yr period.

I had it 5years ago. Was 19 stone. Have been between 10'and 11 stone since the op. Life changing but private you must have a BMII of over 30 and NHS its 40.

And yoga to add to the saxenda. A personal yoga trainer or very small classes. It doesn't ramp up your hunger and omg you get a great body fast. It's also quite relaxing and can help a lot with overeating.

I used to do a lot of classes/weights/PT and I are like a horse. Never lost weight till I stopped it. I've done 500 cal fasts before and been able to do a yoga class that day. Try that on weight training Grin

disorganisedsecretsquirrel · 01/09/2020 21:25

Exercise makes you healthier. It doesn't lose you weight without changing your food intake. That's why WLS works where nothing else will.

I'd hire a chef to cook stuff that's noth low cal and tasty!

celticmissey · 01/09/2020 21:30

Try hypnotherapy they did a study where people lost twice as much weight than other methods and people were more successful at maintaining their weight long term.

chillied · 01/09/2020 21:32

I was recently recommended the Blood Sugar diet - a friend has lost 2.5 stone on it so far. That has an expensive 12 week online programme!

I guess it is similar to MN's boot camp really so I've just gone back to that for free. I found a small piece of willpower that's been eluding me for many months. If only you could buy willpower

getmeavodka · 01/09/2020 21:32

I upped the dose every week as instructed by doctor. Weight loss averaged a kilo a week. I did gym and walking lots too

VinoEsmeralda · 01/09/2020 21:37

I cycle to work (13miles each way to work) and have PT once a week and mainly focus on posture work and strengthening upper body (shoulder issues) and he is worth his weight in gold. Toned so much more, will increase to 2 sessions once winter and too dark.

HappyHedgehog247 · 01/09/2020 21:37

I’d go Whole Foods planet based and get a PT. I’d watch or read something every day to keep my motivation up. I’d get some therapy. I’d set a goal and stick a tracker on the fridge. I’d track my steps. I’d find a friend who wanted to do it with me. I’d consider entering a half marathon/5k for 12 weeks time.

MarshaBradyo · 01/09/2020 21:42

Nicest gym and high quality low carb - scallops / crayfish / sashimi / rare beef and veg etc
