Seems like a really sensible idea. No Sugar, Snacks or Seconds apart from days with an S (weekends and special days). Just limits your calories without having to account for every one. Am giving it a go.

I also deleted MFP app as although I lost almost 3st using it before I had my second child, I’m just done now with diets, I’m actually the heaviest I have ever been, sovthey obviously do not work Grin

Hi All. Mini rant: have been really good today, and going out tonight cos away tomorrow for weekend. Went to local pub. Ordered veg curry from menu. Haven't got it. Ok then, can I have a baked potato? No! What kind of food place can't do you a baked tatie?! All they had was a mushroom creamy pie thing, and mac n cheese. Annoying when you know the menu, so you've prepared, but! Grr. Have had half a fish from the fish shop. Could easily have eaten the other half, with chips, but didnt! So a bit of a result.

That’s ok though sponge you made the best choice of a bad situation, I now fancy fish and chips, despite having dinner earlier Grin

No snacks today but my portion sizes were probably a bit on the large side! Having an early night to avoid the fridge calling

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 14/03/2019 21:34

Thanks Ellie. Sounds like you did pretty well. That forum that was linked to upthread has been really useful. Talks about at first, probably having bigger portions, and then more likely to settle for smaller ones. Hopefully! Funny how talking about food makes us hungry. Maybe only mention boring healthy food Grin

First green day in ages yesterday. Resisted a slice of birthday cake and a choc cup cake. Went to a friend's for takeaway but only ate one plateful and none of the pre dinner nibbles! Another birthday party to go to today, so hopefully can take a bit of cake home for the s day!

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 15/03/2019 11:41

Sounds like you did good Molly. Off for the weekend now, so won't be on MN until Sunday probs. Couple of S days coming up, will try to restrain myself, a bit.

Hello! Just popping my head in to say that I lost 3 stone doing no-s in 2017 and it has stayed off. I have found it very sustainable and easy to fit with family life (once DH got over the shock of me starting to refuse cake).

Happy to answer any questions but if nobody has any then I'll leave you to it!

Good luck Smile

Sunday89 · 15/03/2019 19:34

Wow that’s very inspiring Beela! My only question is what do you have on a typical S day? Not sure I’m letting loose a little too much Blush

MollySilkNose · 15/03/2019 19:57

Have a good weekend sponge. Sunday, I think the book says 'no s except sometimes on s days' so I think for me, the key is to plan in the treats (e.g. I know I'll have some apple crumble on Sunday) and still be mindful about what I'm eating to keep it under control - but not sure how my will power will actually hold up!

Sunday89 · 15/03/2019 20:09

Thanks molly. I’ve had a S day today and I’ve definitely gone overboard. Swapped a no S day to tomorrow then Sunday will be a more moderate S day!
Have a good weekend everyone 😊

Ellieboolou27 · 15/03/2019 20:20

Hi all, a good day today, this time of the evening is hard though! Dh has come home with posh crisps Angry. I’ve hidden them and will have some tomorrow as it’s S day - they keep whispering to me though Grin
Have a good weekend all

beela · 15/03/2019 22:16

@sunday89 I think my weekend s days have become more moderate as time goes on. For example I do snack at the weekend but my snacks are smaller/healthier than they used to be; I now count a handful of raisins or one biscuit as a snack, rather than just inhaling a family pack of marshmallows Blush

I do have a blow out sometimes, but I am better at stopping when I'm done.

Sunday89 · 16/03/2019 12:59

Interesting @beela thanks! I guess the novelty of having sweets wears off after a while. My No S Saturday is going well so far apart from a tiny nibble of croissant from DS when we went for a coffee (luckily he wasn’t up for sharing any more of that!) so hopefully can stay on track the rest of today Halo

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 17/03/2019 14:55

Hi All. Just come back from Oxford, trying to avoid going mad with my credit card in the Westgate centre. Dont get to see Seasalt, Joules, Whitestuff very often... had a reasonably healthy wrap for lunch, sandwich for tea, but a few choccie bix, and one of the hotel chocolat tiddly pots of choc buttons. Have had pancakes for breakfast before we came home. Will try and reign it in a bit today, cos birthday Tuesday. How is everyone else doing?

Hi spongehad an awful S weekend!!!
Weighed in this morning and lost nothing Sad mind you I only did 2 days No S then it was the wkend.

Just come back from 20 min power walk using my 30 minutes lunch to walk. Had 2 Jaffa cakes and a tea for breakfast Blush not a good start to the week!
How is everyone else getting on?

Ellieboolou27 · 18/03/2019 12:33

Lunch today is a wholemeal ham salad and coleslaw sandwich, grapes and Greek yoghurt. I re read parts of the book that said snack foods can be used to make up a meal as long as it’s not sugary / sweet stuff and as long as it’s eaten in the lunch window.
Dinner is leftover chicken pie and LOADS of veg.

Being good starting NOW Grin

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 18/03/2019 16:26

Ellie sorry you didn't lose. As you say though, only 2 days, so a whole week is a better indicator. How you doing Sunday? Beela would you have had fruit and plain yoghurt after a meal, or did you steet clear of it. Ellie I'm sure the powewalk helped negate the jaffa cakes! How's everyone else?

OP posts:
beela · 18/03/2019 21:07

spongebob I have fruit and plain yoghurt for breakfast a few times a week, but I wouldn't have it after a meal because I would count that as dessert. I try to stick literally to three platefuls on N-days.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 18/03/2019 21:14

Thanks Beela, thats useful to know. I need fairly a structured programme, otherwise I go off piste a bit :)

Afternoon all, so far so good!
B: porridge
L: cheese only 30g Sad olives, crackers, veg sticks and grapes, naked bar - lots of snack type stuff but still lunch right?!!
D: steak, mushrooms and courgette with a very small portion of oven chips - can’t wait as I’m so hungry today!

Did my 30 min walk at lunch too Halo

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 19/03/2019 17:55

Sounds good Ellie. It's an S day for me, as birthday. So have had a piece of birthday cake, given the rest away, meals reasonably healthy, but have small box of chocs to contend with!

OP posts:
Ellieboolou27 · 19/03/2019 20:02

Your birthday- if so happy birthday 🎂
Dh birthday tomorrow - there is cake and I will have some tomorrow Grin mum made it today and I’ve had to put in in our spare room on top of wardrobe so I can’t see it!!! Really craving toast and tea now though - will have some for breakfast. Did you weigh in at all?

MollySilkNose · 19/03/2019 20:30

Hi everyone, just checking in. Well done for sticking at it! I'm finding it hard to find time to eat a piece of fruit or two with meals, probably because it takes longer to eat and, once I've got their stuff ready and sit down to eat myself, the kids are finished eating and eager to move on! Evenings are really hard but I've found a small g&t helps! (The book says it's allowed!!)

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 19/03/2019 20:41

Yes mine Ellie. Thanks. Enjoy your cake! Did not weigh. Hi Molly. Wondering if having your fruit later, though not strictly legal, might make you more likely to stick to the healthy plan?

OP posts:
MollySilkNose · 19/03/2019 20:47

sponge that's a good idea, and of all the things to 'snack' on, I'm sure fruit is not the worstWink Happy Birthday btw, hope you enjoyed your cake!
