No motivation.

OP posts:
NorthEndGal · 21/01/2019 22:42

Not being able to wear my favourite things. I have some kick ass outfits, and I have to keep fit to be able to wear them

RJnomore1 · 21/01/2019 22:44

Something just clicks in my brain.

Hard to describe sorry.

peeblet · 21/01/2019 22:47

signing up to fitness competitions /runs and having a target date to get fit for.

Amazonian27 · 21/01/2019 22:48

Special event social occasion on the horizon.

Rachelsholiday · 21/01/2019 22:49

Everyone else at the x slimming world group i go to. I don't feel like i am doing it on my own

Usernamesake · 21/01/2019 22:54

Health, energy levels, vanity

MilkRunningOutAgain · 21/01/2019 22:55

My knees, they are much less painful if i weigh less. D

FiveShelties · 22/01/2019 05:35

Vanity for me and the refusal to buy any bigger clothes.😁

Rubusfruticosus · 22/01/2019 05:46

Losing weight, seeing the numbers go down. Clothes fitting better, being too big, buying a smaller size. I find it easy once I just start.

MissElaineNeus · 22/01/2019 06:05

Looking vaguely ok in photos rather than hating myself. I dance in public...
Enjoying clothes shopping.
Wearing all my small size clothes rather than them mocking me from the wardrobe.
Being happy to do new things and meet people, rather than feeling like a recluse.
Being fitter for hill walking.

ppeatfruit · 24/01/2019 09:36

I look at myself undressed in the full length mirrror and see my tummy sticking out (when it wasn't a week ago Grin) My birthday is too soon after Xmas! So I get back on the Paul Mackenna and belly busting exercises and less chocolates. It takes about 2 weeks!

EssentialHummus · 24/01/2019 10:05

Seeing the numbers go down, feeling more attractive, feeling better about myself in photos.

CuriousC32 · 25/01/2019 06:36

Nothing normally motivates me - it never has. I hate looking at myself. My partner loves me as I am.
But the only motivation I have now is that I'm finally in a position to TTC. It's taken me years to meet the right man after being involved with too many mr wrongs.

Tattybear16 · 25/01/2019 06:40

Not being able to fit in my clothes. Loathe changing rooms, specially communal ones. I can loose weight, it’s maintaining my weight that I struggle with. Unfortunately I love food.

Seniorschoolmum · 25/01/2019 06:50

I’m mid fifties, single mum and have a dc.aged 10.
I need to be fit and healthy for at least another 10 years. DC needs me to be fit & healthy. So I run.

I don’t exactly enjoy it, but it definitely makes me sharper, leaner & more able to do my job.

Ethel36 · 25/01/2019 06:56

Visualising myself wearing summer clothing. Short shorts and vest with a thin tummy!

Frouby · 25/01/2019 07:01

Not being able to wear most of my clothes. Jeans 'shrinking'. Refusal to buy bigger sizes and feeling uncomfortable all day.

Also summer coming up and wanting to wear dresses without chub rub. And shorts without big, flabby legs hung out of the bottom.

mrsnec · 25/01/2019 07:03

A health scare and years of ttc motivated me to lose 5 stone. 2 dc later I put 2.5 back on that I just can't shift.

My problem is 5 stone lighter I didn't feel any different. I didn't even think I looked that different. It was only 2 dress sizes too so a 16 to a 12 so I agree losing weight is hard to get motivated because to me it feels like it's a lot of hard work for little reward and I'm soo miserable when I'm trying to lose weight.

Screamqueenz · 25/01/2019 07:11

I like to buy clothes because I love them, not because they hide bits of me. #shallow

thenewaveragebear1983 · 25/01/2019 07:36

Vanity. I was so sick of being overweight, I had no confidence, people treat you differently, I couldn't wear the clothes I wanted or get the look I wanted. I lost 3 stone last year, I'm now a size 8 and I bloody love it. It's been really hard work though!

TabithaBraithwaite · 25/01/2019 07:41

After baby 2 I spent 3 years moaning about lacking will power, tried everything but couldn’t stop eating.
I was tired & slightly depressed & medicating with food,
My click moment was when she started mornings at nursery. I finally had 3 hours to myself to rest and then I found an exercise class I enjoyed & then started SlimmingWorld.
Now feel back to normal & so much healthier.

Good luck finding your click moment

Ethel36 · 25/01/2019 09:18

Never ever buy bigger clothes otherwise I'll get bigger! When I put weight on.. it's never for long because my jeans get too tight!

ppeatfruit · 25/01/2019 09:30

mrsnec I lost 3 stone and keep it off (despite a few blips!) I'm not miserable, because I don't count calories or weigh food or eat 'diet' food. If you look at the Paul Macknenna way of eating, it makes a lot of sense.

mrsnec · 25/01/2019 09:46

That's probably one of the many diets I haven't looked at or tried. I lost the big chunk doing calorie counting, going as low carb as I could sometimes but not as fat heavy as liw carb can be.

It triggered obsessive behaviour. If I was at a party and ate some cake I'd go on the cross trainer until I burnt it off and I remember eating out and everyone ordered dessert and I went for a walk on my own to resist temptation. I relaxed all that after both pregnancies because I don't want to obsess anymore and I don't want to be miserable. I think slimming world promotes unhealthy relationships with food too so I won't do that.

ItWentInMyEye · 25/01/2019 09:51

I want to stop having to buy elasticated trousers just so they feel comfy! And my 3 children. Especially as I have a son with autism who will need lifelong care, I owe it to him and his siblings to be as healthy as possible. I've cut right down on drinking alcohol, I'm eating loads of fresh fruit and vegetables and I've started waking A LOT more than I used to. Building myself up to eventually try running and maybe the gym.
