I've got a stone to lose - anyone else?

weigh 11 and want to get back to 10 - gonna do it be exercise, cutting out wine and eating healthy foods. No wonder diets, no fancy juice only diets - just good old healthy living.

My aim is to get a stone off in 6 weeks - so middle of August.

Anyone fancy it?

sorry gulp but for most of us it's simle we eat more calories than we consume, ie eat too much move too little

gulp · 26/06/2007 21:51

BUT, how am I a stone heaver and same size clothes fit (honestly, am NOT bursting out at the seams, lol) though tummy certainly bigger and boobs too - a bit.

1dilemma · 26/06/2007 21:56

ask me another

Hideehi · 26/06/2007 21:57

We've changed shape after the babies, not necessarily for the worse either but definately more difficult to achieve that hard toned look after kids I found.
I'm 11 stone ish and a size ten which is mad cos I was 12 stone and a size 14 before the children but looked fitter, most odd.
Anyway I'm working out with a personal trainer twice a week and whilst i'm not losing anything yet i'm hoping for a pound a week loss as of this week.
Keeping a food diary has been quite an eye opener too, I didn't realise just how much i snack.
Porridge, fruit and tea for breakfast
Fruit and yoghurt mid morning
Beans on Toast for lunch
And a proper tea, steak and veggies me thinks tomorrow.
Along side a spinning class and a nice long walk around the shops.

gulp · 26/06/2007 21:59

Hideehi - how tall are you?

McDreamy · 26/06/2007 22:01

shreddies and ss milk for breakfast, haven't got to thinking about lunch yet. Picnic might be my downfall tomorrow

1dilemma · 26/06/2007 22:01

Hideehi · 26/06/2007 22:05

mandaxmx · 26/06/2007 22:43

it can be done im proof never thought get back to that weight after my baby (well shes 3 this year) haha had to give mysel a kick up the bottom first

1dilemma · 26/06/2007 22:47

so wha does slimming world involve?

mandaxmx · 26/06/2007 22:53

well its basically not mixing alot of meat foods with your carbs really.....wen i first looked at the books i was like omg but once u read through it its easy....u have green days which are free amounts of pasta rice all veg fruit eggs quorn etc....then you have original days (or also known as red) which are meat and fish days veg except sweetcorn, peas, beans and parsnips, eggs and quorn....
on both days you have healthy extras you get a and b choices these are your milk, cheese, bread and your b choices are if on green small amount of meat or fish and if on red small amount of pasta or rice ..
it sound sbit complicated but trust me im no chef or very good at cooking but i found it pretty easy and the meals are great... good for veggies aswell as you could just do all green days ...
my mum and nanna and best mate r doing it to and all loosing really good weights

mandaxmx · 26/06/2007 22:57

haha i sound like im preaching for slimming world but im just soo shocked at how good it works...ive been on every diet you can think of and never been able to stick at them this is great you also get syns 5-15 a day thats for any little treats you want..like a glass of wine is 6 notice how i know that haha choc bars are all diff depending on which ones crips are around 5 a pack so you still get to treat yourself

1dilemma · 26/06/2007 23:00

Hi can I join you. Want to do a stone by mid August for my holiday and a wedding.

I am 5ft 6 and 10st 9, size 12.

mandaxmx · 26/06/2007 23:20

isnt it wierd how diff everyone is im 5.7 only 1 inch diff and im 9.7 but also a size 12..differnt shape hold different weights ...really baffles me

ComeOVeneer · 26/06/2007 23:35

My plan is porridge or all bran all freshly made smoothie (made with a handful of rolled oats) for breakfast.

Lunch is soup and wholemeal roll, salads, sushi, etc

Dinner is grilled fish or chicken with tonnes of veg.

I'm going to start the day with hot water and lemon, (am going to try and ditch caffiene for a while to).

Have got a couple of excercise videos, a stepper, weights and a skipping rope for excercise, and will try and walk more rather than use the car all the time (at least I will do if it ever sops raining). Good luck everyone.

mandaxmx · 26/06/2007 23:38

yeh i would say exercise is defo a big helper..at one point i could harldy do 2 mins on my cross trainer i now do 12 km in around 41 mins ..do ten mins of weights and bout 5 ten mins of sit ups it defo really helps plus gets you feelin better and healthy xx

harleyd · 26/06/2007 23:42

gulp · 27/06/2007 08:09

morning, am all fired up and ready to go today!

just had piece of granary toast with scraping of soya marg and Marmite, coffee and strawberries for berakfast. off to gym for two classes this morning.

Mandaxmx, well done on your weight loss! can you give a typical green day and a typical red day, please?

ComeOVeneer · 27/06/2007 09:20

Morning all. Started the day with hot water and lemon, dropped dd at school and am now having a bowl of all bran with skimmed milk and chopped strawberries. I am planning on making a meal plan and doing a very strict shop today so there are no temptations in the house. Have ds's music class this morning so plan to walk rather than drive, plus have a load of housework and will try to squeze in 30-45 mins of excercise dvd/skipping when he has his nap.

Roskva · 27/06/2007 09:49

Morning all

I've walked the dog and dd, which involved pushing dd's buggy up a really steep hill (OK, so I stopped half way up for a chat with a friend who was walking her dogs down).

weighed myself: 10 stone exactly for 5'4", which I don't get when I can't get into size 12 trousers anymore . I'd like to fit comfortably into size 10 trousers, and if I could get back into my pre-pregnant size 10 stuff I would be over the moon!

Had muesli which is basically cereal flakes with some nuts and dried fruit with fresh blueberries and semi-skimmed milk for breakfast.

Roskva · 27/06/2007 09:50

I meant fit comfortably into size 12 - freudian slip there

Oh, and I did not buy biscuits, pringles or wine when I did the grocery shop yesterday [smug emoticon]
