Thanks all.
Needless to say I’m 5.6 & 11 Stone & just feel blooming huge. I normally hover around the 10 Stone mark, but over the last 6 or 7 months I’ve just been piling on the pounds.
I need to cut out bread I think!

A healthy BMI for 5ft6 is between 8st3 and 11st2 so you're on the heavy side of healthy if you're at 11st.

At 11st and 5ft5 my BMI is ever so slightly overweight. I'd be a comfortable 12 in bottoms and a 10 on top. Like a PP I have friends the same height who can wear the same size as me, but weigh a good stone/stone and a half less.

The lightest I've been is 9st4 and I didn't look well, and that's about mid way in to healthy weight category for my height so should really be my ideal weight.

We're all different I guess!

emsyj37 · 22/08/2018 18:13

I'm 5ft 7 and exactly 11 stone. My ideal weight is 10 - at that weight I'm thin and look good in a bikini Grin
I feel ok at 11 tho. I am a size 12 in all the high street shops and I'm in proportion. I'd like to be 10 stone but not badly enough to suffer to get back there.

Echo2 · 22/08/2018 18:20

If I went down to 8.3 I’d look serious ill. Even when I got down to my lowest weight in years, 9.5 people were asking if I was ok? So being thin doesn’t suit me now I’m older. 10 Stone is my ideal weight.

I'm 5' 6" and 11.5 stone which technically puts my BMI at 26.

But BMI is bollocks and you can't compare yourself to someone who is the same height and weight as you without considering body shape and lifestyle.

I'm a size 10/12 and I weight train, muscle is a lot heavier than fat which is why my BMI is high. My body fat is only 25% which is on the lower end of the healthy range for my age group.

So no, I don't feel particularly overweight and I've spent most of my holiday in shorts and a bikini top.

But someone could be the same height as me and same weight, but don't do any physical exercise so they would have a lot higher body fat % and be bigger in size than I am, so they may perhaps feel overweight.

It's apples and oranges.

CookPassBabtridge · 22/08/2018 18:42

No I was very slim at that weight as I have a wide frame.

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 22/08/2018 18:47

I'm 5'7 and currently 14 stone. At my skinniest, when people were telling me I looked too skinny and to stop, I was still 11 stone and on the high side of the BMI at the doctors.

NameChanger22 · 22/08/2018 18:50

I'm 5.6 and 11 and a half stone. I feel a bit overweight. I look best about 10 stone. I've weighed as little as 8 stone before, but I looked seriously underweight and ill at that weight.

NameChanger22 · 22/08/2018 18:54

I'm currently losing weight very slowly. I tried low-carbing (vegetarian) on and off for years, but it never worked for me. Now I'm just eating healthy vegan food and it suits me much better.

BigBlueBubble · 22/08/2018 18:55

I’m approx that height and 11st is enormous for me. I look better at around 9st.

JustLurk1ng · 22/08/2018 18:57

Yes... but it's all relative.

redastherose · 22/08/2018 18:59

I'm 5'6" and I'm slim size 10/12 at 11 stone. Wish I was that right at the moment.

chickydoo · 22/08/2018 19:02

I have a small frame
I am 5'6 and 3/4 weigh 8 1/2 stone
I still feel I could loose a bit.
I am not skinny. I would feel huge at 11 stone.......However a good friend is the same height and weighs the same as you. She looks amazing
We all carry it differently

Sarahlou63 · 22/08/2018 19:05

God yes! I'm 5'6" and have recently (struggled) down from 63.5kg (10st) to 58.5kg (9.3st). I felt horrible at the higher weight.

SwedishEdith · 22/08/2018 19:06

I'm that height, no idea what I weigh atm - around 10 stone usually. I feel very overweight at the moment so could easily be 10.5+. I'm still a size 12 but my stomach is fat. I am definitely overweight.

lovelilies · 22/08/2018 19:09

I'm 5'6 and 8.5 st. If I was 11 st I'd be huge!

Bunnyrabbitbinkyhouse · 22/08/2018 19:13

I’m 5ft6 and 8stone 9, would rather be 8stone 7 if I was 11 stone I would be huge, maybe I have a small frame

Dumbledoresgirl · 22/08/2018 19:17

I'm 5 ft 9 and around about 11 stone (possibly 11 stone 3) and I feel overweight. I still have a healthy BMI but I used to be 10 stone and a whole dress size smaller so I feel I am overweight. People looking at me doubtless don't agree, but I can feel and see the extra weight on my body and I hate it.

NeedAUsernameGenerator · 22/08/2018 19:17

I'm 5ft5 and 10st13 and I do feel a bit large especially when I look at myself in photos. I think I'd be happy at 10st7.

Partridgeamongstthepigeons · 22/08/2018 19:20

My goal weight..5'4 and currently 14.7 stone (have lost 3 stone 3lbs since February). I dream of 11stone lol Smile

DryIce · 22/08/2018 19:21

I think it depends on your body shape, and also what you're used to.

I am 5'9 and currently 11 stone since having a baby - which feels quite big for me, and I'd ideally be about a stone less.

I'm a 10/12 now and feel a bit flabby

Although I'm also pregnant again so guess I'm going to have to put up with this for a while!

MalachisMum1 · 22/08/2018 19:23

I'm 5ft5 and 12 stone. According to my BMI I'm obese! I'm not the thinnest but if you met me IRL you certainly wouldn't think I was obese x

Whatsthisbear · 22/08/2018 19:30

5ft 9 and 11 stone. Not only do I feel fat but I had someone ask if I was actually pregnant today Shock
I am well within normal BMI but am big and wobbly. I need to get back down to 10 stone.

mamaduckbone · 22/08/2018 19:32

Yes, I did. I’ve just lost a stone and it’s made a huge difference to what I feel comfortable wearing and how I perceive myself.

JeremiahBackflip · 22/08/2018 19:34

All these posts saying they would feel "huge" at 11st is quite saddening. For 5'7 it's within healthy BMI. Not overweight.
