1200 calorie month

I've lost a stone really slowly but haven't lost anything for a while and need a boost. I can't sustain 1200 calories a day for that long but reckon I can do a month if I put my mind to it. 28 days. 1200 calories. Every. Single. Day. Anyone up for it?

Can I join? Also using MFP and trying to keep to 1200.
So far done 2 weeks, lost 2lbs the first and nothing the second. Fingers crossed for this week.
Today I had toast and honey and a milky coffee for breakfast. Vegetable broth with a cube of cheddar for lunch and having salmon and veg for supper. Not a wine night but that often means it's a hot choc and biscuit night! Have low calorie hot choc though.

Thankyou everyone- Feeling a bit better about the weekend this afternoon. One a lot of gin & all willpower goes out of the window- it's time to move on!

B: Coffee with skimmed milk
L: Tomato & basil soup, 50g of chicken
D: Chili, quinoa & a mixed salad.
S: Apple

Green Tea throughout the day.

Still going here. The weekend was OK, 100 cals over on Saturday. Sunday was worse, mainly due to homemade comfort food and the freezing weather. I expected that though.

What does everyone do about cooking dishes from scratch? Do you input the recipient to MFP to work out the calories? e.g on Sunday I made beef and onion pie, including pastry from scratch. I input all the ingredients and approx portion size to get the calorie count. Is that what everyone else does? Most of the meals we eat have individual items (e.g. chicken breast with a portion of rice and salad) which are easy to calorie count in MFP.

I onky eat about 1000-1200 calories usually,
I lost 4.5st about 7 yrs ago by subconscious mindful eating and reducing portions.
My top tip to everyone trying this is... No snacks...and learn to either ignore or 'embrace' feelings of hunger.
Most of us dash for a snack at the slightest thought we might be hungry... Often this is not hunger but boredom or habit.
I just think... Mmm... A bit hungry but it's onky two hours to dinner or lunch.. I cam wait...
Then stop eating as soon as you are no longer hungry... Don't eat until stuffed.
Over time you eat less.
Good luck everyone...

That's definitely the best way to do it whendo. I suppose I might just estimate once in a while though. Say look up calories for average serving of meat pie. Base on an individual shop bought one maybe

That's exactly what I'm trying to do thered. Realise that hunger (not true hunger, just the sort that you get 4 hours or so after eating) is completely tolerable if I just accept it.

Sometimes having a feeling of hunger makes me feel quite good - as if I'm definitely doing what I'm supposed to. Grin
Although occasionally I've let myself get too hungry / that shaky blood sugar feeling and then I've caved and haven't been able to stop which has been a disaster. So I need to eat something healthy before I get to that point.

Ihavesomeballs · 19/03/2018 18:11

Place marking. What's a good food tracker to use?

redtulip12 · 19/03/2018 22:11

@Ihavesomeballs I use my fitness pal and find it really good.

Woofygoldberg · 20/03/2018 11:14

I use the Samsung Health App on my phone & have a Gear Fit watch, I wouldn't say they are the best but certainly do what I need. It tracks all my Gym/running stuff as well & the food database is really good.

Managed 1278 Cals yesterday- slightly over, needed something sweet in the evening, so had a protein nut bar which was a bit calorific.

Plan for today

B: Coffee, Skimmed milk & a berocca
L: Butternut squash soup & some chicken pieces
D: Salmon, New Pots, Salad
S: nuts/fruit

Singingtherapy · 20/03/2018 19:56

Noooooo I'd been so perfect Halo and then ruined it with a huge lunch with a friend today. Hit the sod it button and had chocolate as well. Total around 2300 for the day. Ok back on track tomorrow!

I lost 2lbs this week!!! After losing nothing last week. I pretty much kept to 1200 every day, maybe closer to 1500 at the weekend but I had a particularly good day yesterday (toast for supper and went to bed early) before weighing in.
I suddenly feel like I might actually be able to shift it this time. I have never managed to lose weight before so was full of doubt. But This makes me 5lbs down. I'll be so pleased if I can get another 9lbs off before summer.
Fingers crossed!

theredjellybean · 21/03/2018 13:53

Singing therapy... Don't panic or beat yourself up.
Just adjust a bit... Try a couple of 1000 calories days and over the week it will even out

redtulip12 · 21/03/2018 20:04

After being a bit piggy the last few days I have been good today but only eaten 759 calories. Is it bad to be so under? Might have to have a bag of skinny popcorn to increase it a bit.

Woofygoldberg · 22/03/2018 11:19

1lb off this week- Happy with that after the weekend.

Been talked into to a 10k race for June, did my longest ever run last night of 7k, any advice for increasing distance & speed greatly received- very much a shuffly plodder! Hoping dropping weight will help.

1058 Cals yesterday.

Soup for lunch today but not much more of a plan after that- may be an M&S ready meal.

redtulip I wouldn't worry- as over a few days it will balance out as long as you don't have a massive deficit everyday.

duplodancer good loss - well done!

I hope everyone else is having a good week. Grin

Singingtherapy · 22/03/2018 16:41

Back on track now Smile. I decided not to reduce any more as going to 1000 cals is torture!
