I'm 11 stone 13.

I don't feel it, which is probably the worst kind of overweight there is Grin

If I lost two stone, I'd look very thin. I'm not sure I want to look thin... But extra weight is bad for your health.

Gave birth 8 weeks ago and feel like I've got bags of energy/don't eat much crap, had to give up dairy due to DS having a milk allergy!
My portion size is small, I don't usually finish what's on my plate. DH does.

Could it be thyroid?

Can anyone recommend a better meal plan book/ideas suitable for Vegans?

I'm vegetarian but have had to give up dairy so now the full whack Vegan without the preach speech like DH of whom is veggie but insists he is ' mostly vegan'

8 weeks? Are you breastfeeding? Give yourself time to heal- you just gave birth. You might feel fine but these things take a toll on you that you can’t always perceive immediately. You might find after a few months of eating well that the weight starts to drop off. If it doesn’t then start thinking of what to do. Personally, I think it’s too soon to be thinking about weight loss.

Bloody hell lady, give yourself a break, you have a great figure. Can't believe it's only been 8weeks since you have birth!

Cheeky after my third degree tear healed, I was bursting to go with energy and felt 1 million dollars!

I don't see what I'm waiting for? The 6 week initial 'rest' time is over now, isn't it?

I'm talking healthy weight loss, no dramatic fad diet rubbish

Op, you have got plenty of time to lose any weight you wish, it is still early days and your body needs to recover from pregnancy and labour.
How tall are you? When I was the same weight as you I looked overweight but I'm 5ft4". Your mirror is tilted though, which massively distorts your image. Changing rooms in clothing shops are often tilted to make us look slimmer.
Be kind to yourself, you look great. I looked like a whale for 18 months after having ds Grin. You have nothing to worry about.

Your mirror is tilted and you are standing in an odd way to make yourself looks as slim as possible. Why? You only gave birth 8 weeks ago, you really don't have to justify how your body looks just now to anyone. I would focus on healthy eating and general well being while you are fully breastfeeding and maybe reassess as you being to wean.

Personally, I never lost weight while breastfeeding but I lost it easily enough before they were a year old so you have lots of time.

It's not a stealth boast. I'm overweight. The scales say so.

And the mirror isn't tilted as ' much as possible'

That's how the mirror stands Confused

You look lovely and you certainly don't look anywhere near 11st 13, especially as you're only 5'3. You need to give yourself a break. If you only had your baby 8 weeks ago you can't expect to have lost all your baby weight. It takes nine months to put it on, give yourself nine months to lose it.

You look really toned to me, it's only your tummy that shows that you've had a baby and that will soon improve with healthy eating and exercise. Don't go on any crash diets, your body needs to be well nourished in order to produce milk.

Enjoy your baby!

If you are 5ft 3" get rid of those scales. They are lying to you! I don't look as good as you and I'm currently 10 1/2 stone. And a good stone of that is boobs Grin

Are you breastfeeding? If not there’s no harm in asking your GP for advice. I think it’s possible your portions are too big especially if you were eating for two before - go on the NHS website and work out the calories you need for moderate weight loss and stay at the upper end. Helps to weigh all food. Drink loads of water. And move.

You can't reduce your calories too low when breastfeeding but if you have a smart tv you could do something like thirty day shred on YouTube by Jillian Michaels. Swim, power walking with the buggy.

Breastfeeding may help you lose weight. It didn't for me but did my sister.

You will lose weight naturally though, almost no-one returns to their pre pregnancy weight so quickly after birth. I usually weigh around 8.5 stone but was shocked I was almost 11 stone when I was weighed for medication shortly after birth. I was 8.5 stone again about 10 months later but I did no extra exercise, ate loads due to breastfeeding and made no effort to lose it. Honestly I think if you feel you are eating healthily and getting some gentle exercise I'm sure you'll lose it again.

Your figure is very similar to mine, but I last gave birth 2.5 years ago Grin. I’m 5ft 5 and about 11 stone 6. You carry the weight well.
I wouldn’t do too much at this stage, just carry on eating well. My body clung on to fat while I was BF-ing, I didn’t lose a pound until I stopped.

Oh and I look less heavy than I am. It's all to do with body type and frame. I am short but have muscular legs and big boobs. So perfectly possible to weigh that much at that height and look the way the OP does.

Yes you are overweight

But if you weren’t beforehand, and go back to eating and moving as you did, you’ll go back to oremoregnancy size, and fast.

Probably less actually. I did on both because breastfeeding and moving about so much.

Hi all, thanks for the replies!

Weighed myself properly at slimming world last night and I'm just under 12 stone apparently Shock

I was 13 stone just before birthing DS so a lot of weight has dropped off already.

Just going to be more careful with sweet things like actual sweets (I don't eat cakes etc as DS allergic to most).

My portion size is very small, so small I usually piss my in laws off with never finishing my plate/small portions.

I just stop once I'm full.

Much depends on how your weight is distributed as to how 'fat' you look. I'm 5' 4 and 11 stone but look much bigger than you in the mirror, as all my weight is in my tummy and boobs, so I look like a blob on top of relatively narrow hips and legs Sad.
