you are eating more in response to excercise?

muscle is heavier than fat but in 2 weeks i doubt that has changed anything

you would have to looking at eating habits as well as exercise to lose weight

spudmasher · 02/04/2007 20:06

Give yourself a chance Edjit!!!
Do you feel better?
Have your energy levels increased?

zippitippitoes · 02/04/2007 20:09

and it depends what you are doing there and how much you weigh

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:09

No definitely not eating more- about the same although maybe less, more green stuff! and have a very reasonable diet with lots of veg etc anyway.

i think I probably have the metabolic rate of a gnat.. actually in reality a gnat has a faster rate than I probably have!!

I will plough on irregardless and have my programme building meeting this week........with the 14 year old instructor!!

spuds am completely knackered!!

I'm waiting for all that extra energy to come bursting out soon though!!
and actually I hate to admit it, although its a bit of a slog.. am kind of enjoying the head space!

how are you doing?

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 02/04/2007 20:11

Chuck the scales! If you feel better who cares what they say!

Saggarmakersbottomknocker · 02/04/2007 20:12

Oh you're not feeling better lol!

Keep at it!

spudmasher · 02/04/2007 20:14

I used to love the gym.It felt like a real treat and I'm sad I can't find the time to go any more.
Just a 30 minute burst on the exercise bike when I can. Not very inspiring.
I would love to join a really posh one with a sauna and lovely fluffy towels and products everywhere.
I could do that if the kids gave up their activities! Is that selfish?

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:15

the good news is though.... after reading few articles at the weekend.
that if i plough on with exercise I might look outwardly fat but I should be able to decrease my internal fat deposits by 40% !!

all the thin people not exercising are time bombs, just waiting to explode. as their internal fat levels often high

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:17

if the dd's gave up their activities I think that would be well within our financial reach.. but i think I prefer their obvious glee.. I'll buy you a fluffy towel though!!!

Lol at 'the fourteen year old instructor'

I had an assessment today with a very nice young man - I'm probably old enough to be his mum and he's a million times fitter than me

I also fell off the exercise ball he was trying to show me how to use and he had to pause one machine so I could have a rest before I had a heart attack.

Oh god.

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:22

haven't been for a few years, due to generalised inertia and "bad bones" post kids.
are yo as red as a beetroot- I turn the rather unfortunate colour that violet beauregarde turned after eating the blueberry gum!
I have to be quite careful getting off some of their machines as feel rather fit to drop.. and tentatively make my way to the next.. usually another one quite close by.. don't want to overdo it now!!

TinyGang · 02/04/2007 20:29

Rofl...it's awful isn't it?!

Yes I go a nice plum colour and everything bounces up and down. Some people look so gooood when they exercise - never me.

Whoever invented cross trainers must have had masochistic tendencies - I always seem to somehow do it backwards too.

I haven't ever done anything like this before. Pre children - all those years ago - everything was where it was supposed to be. Post children - I've got to defy every known law of physics to shift it all back.

Soapbox · 02/04/2007 20:32

FE - where does that leave the poor person like me - fat and unfit - dear god I must be just about ready for spontaneous combustion

You are providing a very good role model - and I will get my arse into gear sometime soon!

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:35

soapy... do you think this Friday night I might have some vivid dreams about the 14 year old gym instructor!!

OP posts:
spudmasher · 02/04/2007 20:37

He's not really 14 is he????.......

Soapbox · 02/04/2007 20:37

No - a spotty 1 year old will be a crashing disappointment after Simon

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:38

tinygang

that plum colour could be this season's colour.. I keep on thinking ,those others there with g strings and just a few beads of sweat, are just not putting the effort in..

OP posts:
Soapbox · 02/04/2007 20:38

Oops - that should have said 14yo!

Soapbox · 02/04/2007 20:40

Tinygang - if you can go backwards without trying then you deserve a medal! I can't go backwards even when I concentrate soooo hard! If I do manage it I think I am in one of those falling dreams - you know the one where you dream you are falling and just as you are about to hit the floor you waken up - only in the gym, you don't waken up, you really do end up on your backside on the floor

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:40

no spuds he's not really 14!!! but have you noticed that police officers all look like teenagers? It's the same thing with the gym instructor- oh I remember the days when I'd have been in awe.
when i was really athletic in my teens.. tony ward( irish rugby international for the young)) was one of our gym instructors- and he did not look 14- he was sooo fit

OP posts:
spudmasher · 02/04/2007 20:42

Edjit did I mention how slim your heart and lungs are looking?

friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:42

soapy you're going to have to come and have some gong backwards lessons with me... and then you can also develop this season's newest look.....plum!

OP posts:
friendlyedjit · 02/04/2007 20:42

thanks you spuds.. I knew it was all going to be worth it!

OP posts:
TinyGang · 02/04/2007 20:52

I don't know how I do it!

Aaanyway it'll all be worth it....apparantly.
