Slimming world triggers binge eating

I'm so fed up. I've been trying to lose 2 stone for 18 months and I can shift it. I've joined and left slimming world countless times. I joined again 3 weeks ago - kept to plan for a week - lost 4 pounds - kept to plan for a week - gained a pound. This week? I've binged so much and know I'll have a gain again. I think that the allowance of the unhealthy foods triggers binge eating? I'm not sure! Please does anyone have advice?

I would really recommend looking at Rebelfit on facebook. I think if you are susceptible to any kind of disordered eating patterns SW will always make it worse. You may be able to stick to it for a while but it's not really sustainable and you can end up relating your self worth to those results on the scales. Focus on health, wellbeing and fitness.

Yes yes yes OP. I first did SW 19 years ago, when I was 17 (found my old book recently and wondered WTF I was doing there at 5ft 7" and 10st 4....I lost a stone to get to my target of 9st 4 Shock ).

Anyway, have been on/off it over the years. Tbh I've never been particularly big, just over into the unhealthy bmi range and so go back to lose the stone I keep finding.

I've recently, in the past few days, cut RIGHT back on sugar, and am feeling good. I'm not the sort of person to have a 5 syn Freddo and stop there. I would want more and more. But if I avoid obvious sugar completely, maybe I'd be more in control? So joined a thread (Will link in a mo) and find it really helpful. We're doing low-sugar, and not avoiding foods which are naturally high in fat. So full-fat Greek yoghurt, nuts, seeds and avocado are all on the menu. I find these foods so much more satisfying/satieting. When I was on SW last year I'd use my syns for full fat plain yoghurt and real sugar (I have half a teaspoon in my tea) as try to avoid sweeteners as much as possible.

Tbh I don't agree that filling up on Pepsi Max, vile Muller Lights and processed shit like Mug Shots is healthy at all. I would far rather eat PROPER food, but train myself to eat less of it.

Oh, also agree that SW only properly works the first time you do it.

Here you go. Some of us are just dipping our toes in the water and seeing how we go. I can't imagine a world completely without sugar, but would love to not have it shouting my name multiple times a day!

I recommend looking at some Richie Howie Team RH videos by Googling.

He tells it like it is and uses choice language. If you listen to what he says it really does make sense though.

I'm a member of his Facebook group and love it, the results people get from following his advice are fab!

Chocchip I'm intrigued by this Rebelfit. Have had a quick look on fb but can't see anything that tells you what to actually do. I did get the sample diet sheet but it looked like the same old low carbs thing, in spite of claims that you can eat a bit pf cake. I assume the extra calories can be vonsumed once fitness levels are raised, but do I have to wait unril the next programme in October to find out how to go about this? Tia.
