Yes, I would like to be in but I can't weigh myself for another 2 weeks. I want to lose around 1.5 stones to get back to pre pregnancy weight so I can ttc again!

Gobbledigook · 25/02/2007 22:00

Well, I haven't started well with an evening meal including a big dollop of mashed potato and followed by a big slab of apple pie with cream on top.

I'll start tomorrow

9.13 this morning - 8.7 would be ideal although if I can get to 8.13 that will be a miracle in itself.

Feeling a bit better today (finally) so hoping to get out for a short run if the weather keeps up.

Feeling determined today...

foxinsocks · 26/02/2007 10:40

I should be on this thread really

have about 3 kilos to lose to be comfortable(think that's about 7lbs) though could do with losing a bit more (but won't!)

find changing what I eat very difficult so will try and up the exercise (ha ha)

I'm going to high impact aerobics tomorrow night. Was going to swim this morning but couldn't be arsed

franke · 26/02/2007 12:07

I've done my walk for today [preen], but while I was out I bought a jam doughnut

So what do you do about alcohol?

Cod can you set out the rules very clearly?

Is alcohol allowed or not? (I'm thinking not at all during the week but may be a bit of wine on Fri/Sat/Sun .

Can you define "carbs" - I know that means no bread/rice/potatoes but what about lentils, chick peas etc?

If no snacking, can we at least have fruit/veg to snack on?

Good for you PR!

Really must move my arse and get out there...

myturn · 26/02/2007 15:26

Did it. 45 minute run - only just over 4 1/2 miles so really slow, but am not feeling completely over this damn virus yet. Still, so glad I did it as it's a beautiful day and would be kicking myself if it's raining tomorrow and I hadn't taken the opportunity of getting out. Taking Dior's advice and having curry with veg tonight.

jambomum · 26/02/2007 15:49

Hi, I don't know any of you but would love to join in with this diet thing. It's nearly 2 years since DS was born and I'm still 10lbs over my pre-baby weight and very flabby in the middle. Am totally motivated to do this, but have foot injury which is stopping me running (and indeed walking in heels, or without a limp). Any suggestions on the exercise front for woman with dodgy left foot?
P.S. Desperately heading for the 4pm chocolcate biscuit - HELP!!!!

myturn · 26/02/2007 15:57

Hi Would you be able to join a gym? I was thinking of some of the machines where you sort of glide instead of walking or running.. I would imagine that would be easy on your joints and great cardio workout. Or pilates?

myturn · 26/02/2007 15:57

Oh and ofcourse the best thing might be swimming...

sassy · 26/02/2007 16:03

HI fishy,
Got a stone-ish to shift.
Have toned up signif in last 10 months due to weekly pilates, have just started running (but only a mile at the mo, twice a week).
Cut down on wine - agree, 1 glass during wk, 2-3 at weekend, seems sensible.
have to beat sugar addiction (do the Priory accept people for this - "addiction to sugar and exhaustion"?)
Been running today (good child emoticon)
Healthy breakfast and lunch (ditto)
Eaten large pack licorice allsorts(bad child emoticon)

I did circuit work in the gym for a few months but got sidetracked - the treadmill was beckoning... want to lose this weight as quickly as I can then move back onto toning. I suppose I should really do a mix of cardio and weights but I find the toning machines a bit mind numbing... Might do step again. decisions decisions

jambomum · 27/02/2007 10:51

I can recommend personal training. It's expensive but you don't have to do it terribly often and it might introduce you to free-weights.
The trainer will teach you the exercises to do and the weights to use. It's much more interesting than using the weights machines.

It is all about personality though, if you don't get on well with the trainer, then there is no point wasting your money.
