Hi!
I'm a nearly forty mum of two beautiful girls who has reached that point I needed to reach to realise that I am worth fighting for and want to change...FOR ME!!!
I am 10 stones overweight and started the Cambridge diet yesterday! So far, so good.
I have a friend who is also doing this with me beginning today. She is also 10 stones overweight so we'll hopefully be on it together for the long haul!!

tetra bricks - I had a chocolate one recently and it was delicious!!!!!!! I tend to water the shakes in the packet right down to get 2 drinks out of them for a meal so it feels like I am having more and it helps with water intake. In comparison having a chocolate tetra is like a sweet!

well went for the 790 yesterday despite having 2 slimfast to have as a standby and one thing led to another and a plate of vegetables, 6 ryvita and butter and a jelly later ... thank goodness my DH refused to get me a cake - I think you can say I fell off. I am not that annoyed with myself as I knew as soon as counsellor said she would n't see me until Tuesday (despite her living 2 minutes away and being in) which left me with insufficient packets I knew I would eat. This proves that at this time any excuse for me to eat a little is dangerous and I can't stop once I have started. I am going to wedding today where I will be eating and then I am back on CD tomorrow as will then have enough packets til Tuesday. Not a great start but at least I knew what I was doing.

Can someone please tell me what the Thai Chilli crisp thing is ????

fussymummy I think you only need 2 litres of water a day not 4 if that helps? Although the more liquid you have the better (within reason).

Ok what details are needed for the summary? age, height, start weight on CD (be that now or when person started which may be some time ago), date CD started, current weight, what about where we live, how many kids we have etc? age? any other ideas - it can be voluntary so if you don' want to tell age or anything else you don't have to? and who will collate. Moonshine I will do it if you don't want to?

fussymummy · 06/01/2007 17:21

meb2006 will try to water the chocolate tetra down later.
Thanks for that.

Has anyone ever frozen them and had them that way????

Just wondered what they were like??

I'm already on my 3rd litre of water today.
I feel so thirsty, that i really need it.
I love the berry flavour that you can add to the water.

The choc/mint shake is delicious hot.

well day 3 and I am so hungry, really hoping that it will pass

I lost count of how many times I have almost put things in my mouth without thinking - just goes to prove I eat subconsiously.

Also have found the cambridge diet forum really useful.

juuule · 06/01/2007 20:21

Well, I've seen the counsellor and got my supplies Tomorrow is day1. No going back now
Gingernut - hope the hunger passes soon for you. I do that putting food in my mouth without thinking too, so I know I'm going to find it difficult at first. According to my counsellor if you manage the first week things improve dramatically. Hope so.

fussymummy · 06/01/2007 23:43

gingernutlover is day 3 really awful?

I'm at day 2 today so obviously 3 tomorrow!!!

My counsellor has told me that if the hunger gets too bad and i cannot bear it, then to have another shake or soup.

She said it's better to do this than to have normal food.

At least your body will still get to the ketosis stage this way!!

gingernutlover · 07/01/2007 09:40

day 4 today, no day 3 was not awful but it was the first time I had felt hungry - but manageble hunger iykwim.

I also slept much better last night, roll on monday week then I get weighed and hopefully see why I am putting myself through this

meb2006 · 07/01/2007 15:00

ok had nice time at wedding yesterday and ate. Now back on CD - I will count this as day 1 as now have enough packs to see me til counsellor on tuesday. am finding it v difficult not to have a bit of something though... my resolve is wavering already. Yipes!

any motivating words????

gingernutlover · 07/01/2007 15:42

meb 2006

day 4 and honestly have not eaten a thing, the thing that has stopped me is that my councellor said that if I eat a little bit it may stop me going into ketosis and even if it doesn't one bite will lead to two and then its all a complete waste of time and money.

Having written out a cheque for £66 does make me determined to get my moneys worth and the way I see it is like throwing money away if I eat anything

gingernutlover · 07/01/2007 15:44

will have been on cd for 11 days when I am next weighed and am hoping that will motivate me to keep going for a nother week and so on

fussymummy · 07/01/2007 22:22

I too think about the money!!!

Wrote cheque for £90!!!!

I've also written out a list of treats that i want.
Will treat myself as i lose each stone.

Also, my partner doesn't think i can do this, so i WILL prove him wrong.

I get weighed a week monday and that'll be day 10.

Well i'm almost through day 3 now, and i've felt hungry, but that was mostly when i cooked for everyone else.

meb2006 · 08/01/2007 10:42

have to be honest my day 1 restart went right up the wall!!!! was n't that bad but did eat in the evening - it is pathetic but I got depressed thinking about going back to work soon to a job where I am not treated very well and I just had to eat something. First lesson - eating when upset etc. The first step is recognising you are doing it -the second is not to do it!

Anyway day 1 (again) and I am not eating today - I have 2 shakes and a soup to have today (rather then the all soups I would have had to have yesterday).

Seeing counsellor tomorrow for first visit so must try and do it today or it seems a bit pointless.

still waiting to hear about the crisp thing from earlier post.

There does n't seem to have been may posts on here from others - I thought there were lots on here? Does anyone still want to do the summary thing?

meb2006 · 08/01/2007 10:46

ok it is probably just me but just in case anyone is as dense there is a NEW THREAD - week 2 for CD so please post on there. This thread should stop now. Someone IT literate (i.e. not me)- could post a link to it on here???? See you there.
