And a lovely new week to start all over fresh...

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 29/10/2006 09:03

It was good, thanks. We got rained on quite a bit but still managed to have a nice time. Plus I met the rather lovely Wobblyknicks, who you probably won't remember but some others (coppertop!) might. Sadly the diet went right out of the window at the first sniff of a Cornish cream tea and I've probably put half a stone back on (haven't dared brave the scales yet!).

I really am delighted for you that things are moving for you now. I was thinking about you while we were away, wondering whether the man who stamps the papers had finally decided to put you out of your misery!

violeteyes · 29/10/2006 19:48

welcome back wwb. bit of a mad week last one, forgot to email sue, but lost 3lb last week-can i still belong? struggling a bit with morale this weekend...lack of sleep i think..

lemonAIIEEE · 29/10/2006 19:54

Of course you can still belong, but you're not having my crown for last week... [lemon clutches it frantically with a wobbly lower lip]

Here's your own crown instead.

scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 09:20

Now lemonAIIEEE - share nicely.

Shan't! [pbbbbbt emoticon]

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 30/10/2006 09:42

hello mofos
not much to report here except I haven't really put any weight on I don't think, which is about all that can be hoped for really!

and we caved and we know we're having a boy (having sworn we'd never found out, we were in the scan today and just as I was looking at what looked like dangly bits she said 'do you want to know the sex' and so we got it confirmed because it looked fairly obvious - otherwise I think I would have driven myself mad wondering if it was that obvious or not). Way too embarassed to tell many people in RL that we found out so thought I'd say here. As I want to tell someone!

scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 09:44

Hah! I have held out and don't know the sex of Junior (aka they won't tell me).

Anyway, whats wrong with knowing - I didn't realise you were making a big deal out of NOT knowing so your shame is wasted on me!

OP posts:
scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 09:45

Oh sorry I should have said "How lovely you're going to have a little boy"

OP posts:
CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 30/10/2006 09:46

because I always tell people they shouldn't find out because it's so much more exciting, there are so few real suprises left in life etc.etc.

so I am just a big fat hypocrite

(but quite an excited one)

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 30/10/2006 09:47

no you don't have to say that sue.

I just couldn't hold it in and there's noone to tell at the moment!

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 30/10/2006 09:48

Hey MrsJC - exciting news. A little baby brother for your lovely DD. You can start getting her used to the idea now, too. Not to mention buying clothes etc... Any news on the house move - did I read on another thread that it might have stalled a bit?

CorpseBrideOfJohnCusack · 30/10/2006 09:52

oh thanks Jackie!
it stalled a bit over the question of the survey, but it's all on and definitely going ahead for us to get possession on Nov 10th! hoorah.

yes we keep telling DD about the baby, and she has learnt to say 'baby' and recognise one, but still in blissful ignorance that there's going to be one in her house.

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 30/10/2006 10:00

Oh good - glad it's all going ahead.

violeteyes · 30/10/2006 10:47

i am very happy with my lovely crown lemon, it has spurred me on for this week!wouldn't dream of pinching yours while still warm

schneebly · 30/10/2006 10:48

Lovely news MrsJC - I would have found out too!
Sue - am getting all excited for you! Will keep an eye on your site when you are away.
Hello to WWB too - Hope you had nice hol and cream tea I am back again and back up over 16st but want to try and regain control.

scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 11:01

seems like a week of good news all round then!

Apart from me panicking about packing

OP posts:
coppertop · 30/10/2006 11:13

I haven't weighed myself for a couple of weeks but will be stepping on the scales on Wednesday and finding out what the damage is.

LOL at MrsJC not being able to resist finding out the sex. Will you be telling people IRL or delaying all the cliched comments that you just know you're going to get?

Justamum - You're probably already at work by now but good luck and I hope you have an excellent first day back.

WWB - Who could forget Wobblyknicks? How is she doing these days?

JackieNoHeadJustABloodyStump · 30/10/2006 11:15

How's it going, sue? Too much stuff in too little space, or just not sure what to take? When do you fly tomorrow?

Hi Schneebly and coppertop. WWB - glad you had a good week off.

coppertop · 30/10/2006 11:16

And I forgot to wish Sue good luck for her trip. I've got your website in Favourites (or should I say "Favorites"!) so will be keeping an eye out for you and Junior-Jonez.

scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 14:36

how's it going? well 'twas an oasis of calm until about 5 mins ago when I realised i'm about to fly half way around the world to meet a strange child to spend the rest of my life with. Does that not sound a tad odd to anyone else? Or is it just me?

OP posts:
schneebly · 30/10/2006 14:42

odd yes maybe but also brave and wonderful! You will be a brilliant mum sue.

scarysuejonez · 30/10/2006 14:44

Doesn't feel brave or wonderful at the moment - just terrifying. However I am about to invite my mum over to help me clean my fridge out which will no boubt calm me down!

OP posts:
Dottydot · 30/10/2006 14:45

That does sound a bit scary, Sue! It'll be fine - more than fine in fact - wonderful!!

Meanwhile I've ditched healthy eating this week as I've got an endoscopy on Wednesday and then will probably have to go gluten-free for the rest of my life, so am making the most of having final biscuits/cornettos/basically anything lovely...

Will be back on the wagon from the weekend, but thought a few days eating naughty things (but am quite pleased because I'm not binge eating, just having the odd treat) isn't going to make me put my 25lbs back on, and if I put on a pound or two I know how to lose them fairly quickly. That's the theory, anyway!

Sue - GOOD LUCK for tomorrow and we'll be pacing up and down this thread and the next few weeks to see if you can check in with news!

lemonAIIEEE · 30/10/2006 14:46

Having a strange person cut a large hole in your middle to extract a strange child to spend the rest of your life with sounds pretty darn odd in a lot of ways...

WigWamBam · 30/10/2006 14:53

I got onto the scales this morning. I don't like what I saw one little bit and I'm too ashamed to own up to it

Coppertop, Wobbly's doing really well. She's jacked her job in, they promoted her but she hated it so she's started a degree course at Uni in counselling. Her little girl is 3 now (doesn't time fly ) and is an absolute delight ... although she hardly got a word in edgeways with my rattlebox of a daughter!

Fabulous news about your little boy, MrsJC - I think it's nice to know what you're having, it certainly made it nicer for me to be able to say "her" instead of "it". Dh always said it was still a surprise when we found out ... just a few months earlier than it would have been!

Sue, I think travelling half way around the world to meet a strange child to spend the rest of your life with sounds like a brave and wonderful thing to be doing. S/he won't be a strange child for long; before you know it s/he will be your child, and you'll be the fabulous mum you always knew you would be. I have everything crossed for a safe trip and will be watching out for news of you and Junior Jonez.
