Evening all

I could do with hooking up with a few people who are also trying to be more healthy - better diet (whichever method works for you) and more exercise. But I do so much better when I can chat to a group about how I'm doing and when I have a hand to hold when it goes wrong.

I've been on one or two on here but they never seem to get enough traffic and fade out after a few days.

So I'd really like to start a weight-loss quiche. Anyone in?

I have about 3 stone to lose, most of which I have gained after injuring my ankle and having to give up running 2 years ago. I am also a stress-eater, and with the stress of doing a degree, I have been stuffing my face lately. Now the degree is (almost) finished, but I have the stress of job-hunting, plus we're planning a relocation, so I'm still eating way more chocolate than I should! I'm getting far better with exercise though, and getting to the gym a good few times a week, so that's a start anyway.

Hey Penguins. Sorry, this dropped off my active convos.

Glad to hear you're feeling better and back on track. I think I might finally be too. I've been back at Slimming World for a week now, and it's been easy enough to get back into it since apart from the afternoon binges, it's more or less how I normally eat anyway. According to my scales at home I lost 7 pounds this week (!) but at group weigh-in (with clothes and after breakfast) it was only 3 pounds. Either way, it's in the right direction! I only made it to the gym once last week as there was far too much going on. But I'm planning to get there more often this week. In fact, I sat down at my computer to book my spinning class tomorrow but got distracted by MN!

Well done Annie!

AnnieLobeseder · 11/12/2014 10:51

So how is everyone else doing?

Penguins, have you got your head back in a good place?

I missed spinning this morning to go to DD2's nativity play. There's another class this evening but it's such a struggle to get out in the evening when it's so cold and dark!!

Not good! Got weighed at pill check, which was depressing. Ah well!

AnnieLobeseder · 11/12/2014 12:50

Oh dear Yonic. How are you mentally for weight loss at the moment? It's not the numbers that matter, but how you emotionally/mentally feel about food and weight loss at any given point.

OP posts:
YonicSleighdriver · 11/12/2014 14:08

It's affecting my health and definitely my body image.

AnnieLobeseder · 11/12/2014 14:11

Oh dear. Do you need a virtual hug, virtual smack across the chops or virtual shouty drill sergeant to help?

YonicSleighdriver · 12/12/2014 19:11

I dunno Annie, I think I need the kitchen to magically lock after dinner do I don't eat crap!

AnnieLobeseder · 13/12/2014 17:17

Ah, yes. Except I needed the corner shop to shut and/or stop selling crap. 'Tis all very hard.

YonicSleighdriver · 14/12/2014 18:23

If only food wasn't so delicious!

AnnieLobeseder · 15/12/2014 10:04

That is definitely a problem, Yonic. Xmas Grin

I'm at SW and have lost 3.5lbs this week. Yay! I am also still unable to raise my arms or walk down stairs after body pump on Saturday.

Hello everyone! Sorry, this had dropped off my threads.

Holding steady here. Last week was a bit of a disaster - Chinese takeaway treat for the kids, various school things with nibbles, etc. What I have noticed is how often I eat high calorie food I don't particularly enjoy or want just because. Like because the children are having a biscuit, I do. Or because someone waves a plate of mince pies at me at the carol service, I eat one.

This week the aim is to consciously think whether I want things.

PenguinsandtheTantrumofDoom · 15/12/2014 10:16

Blooming baby posted my post!

Was going to conclude by saying well done Annie. Brilliant.

AnnieLobeseder · 15/12/2014 11:38

Consciously choosing to eat things (or not) instead of just stuffing them in your mouth Because Food is always a good idea, Penguins.

Yy.

YonicSleighdriver · 18/12/2014 23:10

Bah, hate that being fat makes exercise harder.

AnnieLobeseder · 18/12/2014 23:33

Me too, Yonic. I can't wait until I can run again, but for now my ankles and knees can't cope with the extra weight I'm carrying. And my fat rolls get in the way of stretching.

AnnieLobeseder · 21/12/2014 17:41

I am finding myself desperate for some "real" food. I may swap to calorie counting for a few days so I can have something oily!

YonicSleighdriver · 27/12/2014 23:42

How was Xmas?

ToeFluff · 28/12/2014 08:46

Hi do u mind if I join in? I've got 2.5-3 stone to lose and do better with people in the same boat. I am on a different thread but it's trailing off and I like to keep constant!

I'm calorie counting and using mfp, atm but thinking about following sw at home..waiting to see how well I do first!Grin

AnnieLobeseder · 28/12/2014 12:56

Christmas was full of very tasty things, thanks, Yonic! Xmas Grin How was yours? I'm actually going to drag my lardy butt out for the first run in many months now. And eat soup all day in the hope of shifting a few ounces before SW weigh-in tomorrow!

Welcome to the group, ToeFluff! We haven't been chatting much but hopefully traffic will pick up a bit in this traditional season of weight loss panic!

YonicSleighdriver · 28/12/2014 13:49

Mine was good! Have been doing the exercises for my health problem and I think they are helping. Pelvic floor not up to running but will be on my exercise bike again once we are home.

Hiya Toe!

ToeFluff · 28/12/2014 18:32

Well I'm another day below calories, as long as I stay away from ds's jelly tots tonight(one second I want them all and the next I'm not fussed so not sure how it will go)

I love exercise bikes, I feel like it's the best exercise for burning calories without jumping about and getting out of breathGrin-if that makes sense?!

AnnieLobeseder · 29/12/2014 11:35

Well done Toe. How did you cope with the Jelly Tots?

I've just been to SW and only gained half a pound. Which is some kind of Christmas miracle!! SW have just launched a new plan for those times when you could do with shrugging off a few extra pounds. It seems to consist of filling your plate with endless amounts of protein-rich foods and high-fibre veg, which would work well, I guess. I may try it this week, though I'd need to get a few extra supplies in.
