Any naturally slim people want to take part in my experiment?

I am sick of eating 'diet' food and I have a theory...

If you are naturally slim - I mean you eat a healthy diet without worrying if you're eating too many calories and don't have to 'watch' your weight. Does such a person exist?

Anyway if this is you, what do you typically eat in a day? I don't believe slim people eat diet stuff all day. My theory is that I don't have to eat diet foods to lese weight, I need to make subtler changes to my eating habits.

Does any of that make sense?

Anyone care to share with me their eating habits?

Today -

Brekkie - 2 bagels, some dry cereal
Lunch - Carrots, Flan, Salad
Snack - Packet of choc Buttons, 2 cake slices
Dinner - Broccoli Mix in Pancakes with cheese (mix of Broccoli, egg, cheese and butter)plus some of ds dinner
Snack, Yogurt, crispbreads
lots of tea & coffee with milk
think I've forgotten some snacks - am just off to make a cup of tea & find something to munch.

I eat loads but am bf & never get to sit down apart from when I'm on the pc

Have never dieted & eat what I want.

Naturally small, don't calorie count or fo on deist. Occasionally go on a 'trying to eat more healthily' thing, but really only cos think I should have more vitamins, fibre etc, not to lose weight. Don't exercise either (lazy bugger) but do walk a lot to park, playgroup, friend's house etc and carry baby/ buggy up & down 2 flights of stairs everytime we go out. Think the trick for me is not to have much in the house - then I can't eat rubbish cos we have none!

Typical day:

Brekkie - Cereal (try to have some high fibre stuff) usually 2 weetabix with semi-skimmed milk (no sugar)
Tea

Mid-morning - Toast, criossant, bit of a muffin or something like that. Dried fruit. Tea. Juice

Lunch - Sandwich, salad or toast - usually wholemeal bread. Maybe leftovers. Tea/ milk

Mid-afternoon - yoghurt, fruit, biscuit etc tea

Dinner - pasta with pesto or homemade sauce & peas, homemade pizza, salad of some kind, baked spud with cheese or cottage cheese.

EVening - chocolate (eaten far too much recently), cereal, hot choc

So far today, I've had 3 cups of tea
I've never really taken in before just how little I eat in the mornings. No wonder I'm always starving at bed time. I'm definitely going to try and eat more...

meowmix · 01/10/2006 13:13

breakfast - tea with milk
mid morning - vat of coffee
lunch - if I have it usually a sandwich from cafe near work
supper - usually grilled meat/fish or something homemade, never eat ready meals, generally have wine a few times a week
lots of water all day

but will happily eat a man-sized share of roast pots/roast beef or indeed cheese when the mood takes me. Don't really have a sweet tooth so rarely have puddings/chocolate.

That said I put on weight lately due to steroids I had to take that made me starving all the time. THEN I ate pretty much anything that caught my eye.

I'm 5'5 and 8and half stone. Before dd 1 I was 9 and half stone when I worked in an office, sat down most of day, occasional exercise, but not bothered about weight size 12/14. B/f both dd's and walk 10 mins total down to school and back x 2 every day, not loads. My average day food wise is, bowl of cheerios, slice of toast, soup and a roll for lunch + fruit, tea is large pasta dish, or sausages and mash, I like my carbs, couldn't give them up! Always have a pudding such as ice cream/cake and custard, still eat same as before. I only drink tea with sugar and water. I find it strange how my metabolism has changed since having dd's either that or it's cos I'm more active now. Carrying heavy tots about the place maybe!

duvet · 01/10/2006 14:45

Meant to add most food home cooked and I never have what I call lady portions! I'll eat a whole 12 inch pizza!

prettymum · 01/10/2006 14:46

eating 2 slices of chocolate gateau!! lovely!!

rustybear · 01/10/2006 17:02

I thought I was 'naturally slim': I ate what I like & never put on an ounce - then I hit 45! Since I've had children, I had been eating more healthily, which is lucky, as otherwise I'd probably be obese instead of merely overweight by now.

SaintGeorge · 01/10/2006 17:56

5' 4", normally about 7st 4, currently 6st 11 because I have been ill and skipping lunch.

When things are good a typical day would be:

breakfast - 2 weetabix, full fat milk and sugar.

mid morning - any sort of snack, including crisps and other crap

lunch - sandwich and salad, or bagel (cream cheese and bacon, drool) or something on toast

afternoon snack - toast, fruit

evening meal - often pasta or rice dishes, usually chicken or pork, lots of veg. Heavy on carbs. Large portions.

supper - cheese and biscuits or a bun

drinks - lots of water but also coffee and coke . Alcohol once in a blue moon.

in betweens - constant biscuits and sweets

Nervous energy - lots

drosophila · 01/10/2006 20:04

I bet naturally slim people never weigh themselves? Another thing I have lost a lot of weight recently (well so people tell me). You know why - I have I started drinking coffee. I never used to drink any caffeine but the energy I get from it seems to mean I am less hungry.

I notice how much tea these slim people drink....

jasnDISMemBERED · 02/10/2006 07:03

I don't have any scales...used to weigh under 8 stone(not a good look on someone my height - 5'8")before kids. Now I think more like 9 stone.

I live on tea, but don't like tea IYSWIM.I drink it so weak and milk that if you gave me hot water and milk I'd drink it and probably not notice.

I'm going to eat breakfast more now, as this thread has made me take notice of my truly terrible diet.

Tinker · 02/10/2006 16:32

Drink loads of tea too.
