I talked to the leader/helpers whilst in the queue so didn't hold them up BTW (I can see your point there Dior). And I wasn't cross at the people without much to lose, they just made me even crosser with myself IYSWIM

what do I know? I still have several small childrens' worth of flab to lose!

Dior · 19/06/2006 13:59

I think I'm going to parp myself on this thread. I worked really hard at my meetings, and know that I did a good job. As I said, you can't please everyone. At least the plans work for you Beety...keep up the good work and join us on the WW threads.

Ledodgyherring · 19/06/2006 14:00

I'm sure you were really good Dior but my leader was not.

Beetroot · 19/06/2006 14:03

nor mine...none is talking about your Dior!!

If you were my leader in Kew, Dior, then you were fabGrin

suejonez · 19/06/2006 14:09

Arfy - yes I like BigMoFo's too! Goes without saying that my hatred of those skinny minnies at WW was entirely due to me and nothing to do with them.

pootlepod · 19/06/2006 14:14

I stayed to meetings- but then I was tight and felt that's what I had paid for. TBH, some weeks were better than others but found it generally motivating. I felt I lost the weight quicker too.

Medulla · 19/06/2006 14:15

I used to go to weight watchers and managed to loose 22lbs in 12 weeks. I did stay behind, firstly because I was not going to pay all that money and just get weighed - I wanted more for my money, at the beginning I learnt loads more about the diet, my leader was great and really funny and I found it motivating. I have since moved and now only have access to Slimming World - the weight is coming off but the classes really are awful!!

Dior · 19/06/2006 14:20

Beetroot and LeDodgy - Of course I know you weren't talking about me personally - I'm not daft. However, it is a subject close to my heart. I see things from the other perspective to you, but also as a member. I too have had a leader that I thought was useless, but, as I said, she is loved by some members.

I just came back to say that, as a member of WW, you are entitled to attend any meeting, not just the one you signed up with. If you don't like the Leader, then maybe you would like a different one? Also, WW welcome any comments on meetings or Leaders, good or bad. How else are they supposed to change things if they don't know who is doing a good or bad job?

Mud · 19/06/2006 14:21

I have joined too but unlike you lot have about3 stone to lose. I make myself stya to the meetings as a kind of punishment. if i lose the weight I can stop staying nad being bored Grin. I need someone else to weight me but would rather weigh and run. I will weight and run if i have a parcitularly good week

the useful tips I have picked up so far are

don't treat days as special occasions as a 'get out of diet' card. if you add them all up 'its my birthday' 'its father's day' 'we're having friends round' you're left with very few days you actually can diet and freeze chocolate bars -it lasts longer and pre-cook big batches of food that you can keep in fridge

Beetroot · 19/06/2006 14:54

good call MUd. I need to start thinking about what I am eating ahead of time for the next few weeks...and no treat days until I have lost it all!!!!

I just do some exercise and save those extras up instead

I've been really off-track this weekend, and am reallky pre-menstrual and bloated. If I miss a weigh-in, what happens?

Dior · 20/06/2006 09:55

Dinny - you have to pay for the missed week usually. That is the rule, although some Leaders don't do it. The best thing is to go to your meeting and face the music (weight-gain wise, not from your Leader!), otherwise you will only gain more. At least if you weigh, you can start undoing the damage...good luck!

tallmummy · 20/06/2006 09:59

Dinny - I did that last week. Have done really well only 3lbs to go but I switched to self destruct last week and binged. Too ashamed to get weighed. I'll have to go this week but am dreading it, I'm so bloated and I can feel I've gained. I usually stay but only because I get out of putting the boys to bed 1 eve a week!!Grin

NomDePlume · 20/06/2006 10:01

I went to the gym this morning, for the first time since late Jan Blush. Very wobbly legged when I fininshed, but feeling good. This thread motivated me to do it.

schneebly · 21/06/2006 09:09

I think everyone should at least give the classes a shot - as dior said some consultants put in a lot of work for this! I have been to 2 different slimming classes - one had a fairly poor consultant who wasn't very personable or interesting to listen to and one had a brilliant consultant who is funny and motivating and varies the class every week. I jsut feel that staying helps my motivation too and I enjoy the social aspect - you already have something in common with all the people in the room - a desire to lose weight. I would like to be a consultant some day but fear I would get despondent at everyone buggering off after weigh in.

QueenBeety · 21/06/2006 09:12

tbh, i can do what i want. if i don' to the class after I wont. And I don't seer why I should give it a go.

schneebly · 21/06/2006 09:13

fair enough but how do you know it is crap if you haven't tried it?

Enid · 21/06/2006 09:13

theres a chat?

(going monday)

QueenBeety · 21/06/2006 09:15

as you will read by my post below I have treid it. but I don't have to feel guilty if I don't go. I don't enjoy the social aspect. I don't need it. i just want to lose weight.

Yes Enid..give it a go

schneebly · 21/06/2006 09:20

fair enough beety - must have misread your post. I thought you had just joined and not stayed to the meeting. I am glad my consultant doesn't talk about tupperware to hide stuff Also - I guess other people have a proper social life

LadyTambaOfTambaTown · 21/06/2006 09:21

I used to stay for the meetings when I used to go... our WW leader used to cook up recipes from the cook book and we'd get to sample them (yummy cakes and bisuits)
