BIWI · 18/03/2013 08:27

So here it is - come and weigh in for the last time and tell us how much you've lost in Bootcamp.

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here

LittleFrieda · 21/03/2013 22:23

It's exhausting having to think about more than one menu for each meal.

BIWI - your cooking always sounds amazing. I find myself assembling food on this diet, rather than cooking it. Even though I'm a reasonably proficient cook.

Where is the recipe thread?

Bessie123 · 21/03/2013 23:07

I almost always cook one meal for the children and one for me and dp, sometimes with a carb for dp, who is a cauli rice and shirataki noodle refuser. BUT today I made pizza for my kids and a low carb cauli crust one for me and dp. Even dp agreed it was nice (although I wouldn't recommend it as a regular dish, it is so full of cheese). I'm sure I got the recipe from one of you very kind boot campers here it is again

Just one thing though, the blogger reckons you can't tell it apart from normal pizza. You totally can. But it is still nice Grin

EMUZ · 21/03/2013 23:07

I have some before and after photos if anyone would like to see? Well before and "during" Grin

Bessie123 · 21/03/2013 23:08

Yes. Where?

EMUZ · 21/03/2013 23:09

Will photo bucket link, 2 seconds (and no laughing at my pics!!)

Bessie123 · 21/03/2013 23:29

Do you know there's some face pics on there as well???

EMUZ · 21/03/2013 23:36

Yes, I'm ok with it

Lavenderhoney · 22/03/2013 04:29

Dd is poorly again. Terrible day yesterday with a dash to the doctors as I realised she was very ill indeed - and of course awake most to the night listening to her struggle to breathe and clearing up the mess from the sick.

I had 2 squares of chocolate at 4 in the morning when I couldn't sleep and and felt so down I had to sit in the lounge for a bit.

I can't link on the iPad so I can't link to the recipe thread. I have 2 lo, but I just don't eat the carbs. There is no way i would make a load of different dinners!!!Fish doesn't have to be plain and boiled - you can make a lovey fish pie with turnip dauphinaise and mine love thinly sliced roasted turnip. . Or fry salmon in loads of butter which is lush:)
You could try meal planning for the first week, tbh, which will help you.

JakeBullet · 22/03/2013 06:21

Aw Lavender your poor DD and poor you too as its just exhausting and scary when they are ill. Hope she starts feeling better soon.

It's a new day here, been awake since 04.15am Hmm

Now drinking coffee with cream....yummy.

I had a fabulous evening last night as I have managed to get myself a brand new laptop for free! Grin

I belong to a product review programme with Amazon which I was invited to join about five years ago. I do lots of reviews for stuff so think is is why they invited me. Anyhow I mostly review books although I have had a digital radio and a rather nice camera in the past.

Last night my newsletter contained a £850 Sony laptop (more a net book as no DVD RW) and I managed to get one....which is amazing as there are not usually very many of these types of item. Am over the moon as DS being autistic and a tad heavy handed broke the last laptop and I have been struggling via my phone ever since. So so pleased....can't wait for it to arrive so I can use and review it. It was so much appreciated I can tell you and will be much used so a detailed review can be written.

MaryBeardfanclub · 22/03/2013 06:51

jake congrats, thats a lovely bit of news. I love the reviews on amazon and use them to choose what to buy but I never post any myself.

lavenderh poor you and poor dd, 2 squares of choc sounds extremely restrained given the circs. Hope today is a better one

chippingin do you realise what you wrote.. "To get his levels down he's best to ignore anything he's been told by the NHS!" That is a truely shocking statement isn't it - I am gobsmacked at the whole situation - and to think a year ago I was so ignorant!! Shock
I sent an email to the health assessments people telling them that the nutritional advice I was given was factually incorrect (i was told ketosis is a dangerous state to be in because...you burn FAT in ketosis!!) no reply yet.

MaryBeardfanclub · 22/03/2013 06:59

yesterday's efforts:
B: chickenstrips dipped in egg and Parmesan & fried in butter + chunks of cheese
L: bacon and fried chicken on lettuce with hm egg mayo on top
D: chicken and leek soup, hm egg mayo on lettuce

blimey - just realised I ate practically the same thing 3 times Confused

Iamaslummymummy · 22/03/2013 07:02

Morning. Dreadful news from my ill health early retirement assessment. They say although I'm not fit for any work, I dont qualify for a pension as he doesn't believe I'm permanently like this. Now got the fight of my hands on. Off to the pain clinic today to see if I can get a strong letter from them. Also need to speak to union and solicitors Sad

Tried really hard through the bawling to stay lc. Succumbed at 10pm and had a whole lindt Teddy bear. It wasn't nice but I needed something and no 85% chocolate in the house.

BlackAffronted · 22/03/2013 07:25

Yama - about leptin - its the majot hormone in our body, and basically controls everything. If its out of whack, or you have high evels atthe wrong times, it can mess up everythign else (including insulin). Doing a leptin reset regulates your leptin levels to rise & fall at the right times so that you burn fat for as long as possible during your day. Once leptin is reset to a normal rythym, it seems it can help a whole host of problems, as well as weight loss. Snacking, eating at the wrong times etc can all mess it up. Does that help any? I dont know if I have explained it very well! I did a bit of googling when the weight didnt seem to be shifting for me despite bootcamping, and this came up.

Ha;fthesize - tasty, isnt it? Grin

kkkkaty, we all eat the same food here, except ill add some brown rice or potatoes to their meals. My kids love cabbage now!

WillieWEggledEgger · 22/03/2013 07:29

slummymummy that is absolutely rotten, having to deal with that fight on top of coping with your health problems. i'm so sorry. i hope you manage to find some time today to look after yourself in between sorting out the work/health stuff Thanks

what a fab surprise, jake, v pleased for you!

lavender sorry to hear you have more sickness to deal with, you must be utterly shattered. i hope you too manage to find some time to do something for yourself. do you have any support?

BlackAffronted · 22/03/2013 07:32

EMUZ - fantastic! You must be well chuffed!

Lavender, hope your DD is better soon :(

IAMSM - :( hope you can get things sorted.

WillieWEggledEgger · 22/03/2013 07:36

EMUZ have just spotted your pictures - you do look brilliant, so much sleeker and more toned too

WillieWEggledEgger · 22/03/2013 07:51

BING BONG GOOD MORNING BOOTCAMPERS

biggest loser of the week: biscuit357
biggest losers for the whole of bootcamp: Dangerousmouse and Prettybird
biggest %age loser for the whole of bootcamp: Prettybird

BRAVO all

(please note that for the biggest %age loser i exclude people who use 100 as their start weight as the percentage is obviously a bit skewed, i hope this causes no offence)

thanks to everyone who has been weighing in, i hope you've found the spreadsheet useful! as you know we will have an ongoing chat thread up to the start of the next bootcamp and please do feel free to keep on weighing in if it helps you. i won't be doing biggest loser etc until the next bootcamp though.

i can't remember who it was who suggested it, but the idea of a list of products/shops that are good value or particularly low carb was a good one i thought, so i'll see if i can put something together before the next bootcamp. it would be really really helpful though if you think of any products or come across them in the course of your travels if you could post them, as there are an awful lot of old threads and i might not manage to trawl them all!

WillieWEggledEgger · 22/03/2013 07:57

AND

those of us who have weighed in to the end of bootcamp have lost a total of 639.9 lb, which is 290.9 kg or 45 st 9.8 lb

EwanHoozami · 22/03/2013 07:59

slummy - good for you for getting ammunition from all sides for your case. You must be furious with them. Better to eat a Lindt bunny under those circumstances than cuddle one - awfully messy Wink Don't let the bastards get you down!

Collywibbles · 22/03/2013 08:09

Wow - that is a fantastic combined loss! A huge thank you to Willie and "BIWI* for all your support.

I am most definitely more of a lurker as I can't keep up with the threads but I love reading everyone's stories / successes / trials and tribulations. I have lost 4lbs this bootcamp which is fine. I have been LCing for nearly 2 years now and am probably nearly at target although my body shape is still changing (I do a lot of exercise).

Great photos EMUZ - what a difference! You must be so pleased.

Seems to be loads of jumping on the LC bandwagon at the moment - I had a Groupon offer today for 28 days of LC meals! I suppose it might suit some people but .......

Anyway - onwards and downwards. Looking forward to the continued chat - even if I don't often contribute. Thanks all x

BlackAffronted · 22/03/2013 08:16

Wow, well done us! We lost the weight of about 40 average Mumsnetters Grin

prettybird · 22/03/2013 08:18

I wouldn't have lost what I did if it hadn't been for the support, inspiration and friendship of the people on here. SmileThanks

I'm still continuing - have a couple of pounds to go to break 11 stone by my 52nd birthday (2 weeks tomorrow) and then about another stone to get to my target of being under 10 stone (which is what I was when I got married 15 years ago).

With any luck I'll be close to my target by the next Boot Camp, so I won't feature in the "biggest loser" awards next time around. Wink

KKKKaty · 22/03/2013 08:20

Thanks BIWI for another long reply to me, it was very helpful. Also thanks for everyone else's comments. I didn't know about the recipe thread when I wrote my last message - I went through it last night and printed a lot off so that will help! I'm sure I'll get into the swing of it. I will cut down on my dairy, tomatoes and carrots and get tough with the non-green veg eaters in this house! And I didn't have a late-night snack last night, so that's a step in the right direction. I will try and keep it up.

I had a sneaky weigh-in this morning (at the beginning of day 5 - naughty!) and I've lost about 4 pounds already Shock, so that's really encouraging! Smile

WillieWEggledEgger · 22/03/2013 08:33

well done kkkkaty!

you may find, as others have done, that green veg eating is considerably improved with the application of butter!
