I know it doesn't count as my weigh-in was yesterday but can I just admit report that I weighed again and this morning it showed 2lb off? Makes me feel a bit better anyway.
Juney you're not alone here either.

karatekimmi · 16/01/2013 08:09

Another 200lber here!! im 5'4 and have never been less than 10st 4 since I was a teenager!! I figure if I can get to 10 7 then id be happy. I have skinny jeans that I want to fit back into and then we'll see, but really have to take it half a stone at a time.

I need to stop watching BL and watching 5 -7 lb losses each week and being disappointed with a 2!
If all I had to do was lose weight all day with Jillian shouting at me, id be losing it too!!!

laurenamium · 16/01/2013 08:11

Morning everyone I'm just checking in! I've got 6 weeks til a big night out! Argg

nilbyname · 16/01/2013 08:20

juney Thing is though I might be a smaller weight than you, but it is about how I feel. I feel big, my clothes don't fit, my face looks bloated and pasty. I think everyone has a magic number that works for them.

My good friend is 5'7 and a size 14/6 she has a big bust and curvy hips. She always always looks glamourous and well turned out. She fits her size IYSWIM, if she were to loose weight it wouldn't look right on her.

I have a boyish frame with no waist or hips and a flat bottom. When I pile on the weight I look really mannish and dumpy.

Anyway, please do not get disheartened about who weighs what. You know what "number" is right for you and how that makes you feel.

Good morning btw everyone!

ScarfHatSunglasses · 16/01/2013 08:51

Today is my weigh-in and I've lost 6lbs! I'm really really chuffed as I've been a boring puritan quite strict about recording and not endlessly snacking.

I hope I can keep it going. The support on here and mfp is amazing.

karate and juney I'm def one of the 'bigger' members of the thread. Maybe why I'm seeing more dramatic results? I'm realising through MFP just how bad my diet was and I was thinking I was hungry when I wasn't really.

DoubleMum · 16/01/2013 08:59

That's great Scarf, keep on doing whatever you're doing!

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 16/01/2013 09:00

Whoop scarf that is amazing. Well done

ScarfHatSunglasses · 16/01/2013 09:27

Not sure why its not showing the loss in the news feed on MFP? I changed my starting weight this morning to a more accurate number so maybe that's it?

DoubleMum · 16/01/2013 09:33

What's your MFP name Scarf?

ScarfHatSunglasses · 16/01/2013 09:47

I'm HeyHeySaturday.

Herecomesbod · 16/01/2013 09:56

Just checking in to say I'm still with you, but this thread moves so fast! Am over on MfP and have lost 4lbs but expect this will slow down next week. Good to see lots of you over there too, it's keeping me motivated.

namechanger11111 · 16/01/2013 10:08

Well done scarf and herecomesbod.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 16/01/2013 10:10

Morning. I weighed in this morning too and have lost 4.9lbs. The majority of which is the move from night-weighing to morning-weighing - I know because Mo said so I weighed myself last night and the weight loss was looking more like 1lbs.

But still pleased with my first week because a) my body feels tighter from all the exercise; b) I'm now back to my pre-Christmas weight which is the weight I was after I lost 40lbs two years ago; c) I've done that first horrid week when you're always hungry and I'm getting used to it and d) I'm not doing it alone this time. Not only has DH signed on for weight loss this time, for some reason I find it a much more pleasant and motivating experience with you Chief dudes. Thank you so much

So now I've done that first week I'm going to start thinking about goals, beyond getting to the end of the first week without wine, and what difference it will make to my life besides my jeans being a little less snug.

Sorry if I'm asking a question already answered up thread(s) but beyond the number goal what's the reason you're doing this? And what are you going to use as inspiration? For example, my last go at loosing weight was for my wedding and having collarbones to set off my frock was the shallow inspiration I used! Blush

HeyHeySaturday · 16/01/2013 10:14

Right, I've name changed for simplicity.

Tea I'm doing it because I know how much happier I am as a 12 instead of a 16. I lost 3 stone years ago and swore I'd never get that big again. Fast forward 7 years and 3 children and I'm bigger than ever. I hated feeling like a blob on holiday last year so my main aim is to just feel 'normal' on the beach except for my milk-white skin

GetOrf · 16/01/2013 10:14

Thanks everyone - just had my interview, was easy. TOO easy. I don't think I have got it, but I only applied because it is my bosses old job and it would have been strange not to. But they will definitely get an external candidate (that is the way of it).

Weighed myself - back up to 10 stone 6, bastard arsehole chips.

scarf 6lb loss is brilliant, well done. and hercomes well done on 4lb.

HeyHeySaturday · 16/01/2013 10:18

Ah GetOrf but you would understand if you saw just what garbage I was eating before. Good luck with the interview, easy may just mean that you're really right for it. Excessive nerves don't help anyone. Have a rice cake as a reward Hmm

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 16/01/2013 10:26

Well hello Saturday Grin.

Good goal

GetOrf I hope you get the result you want from it. I do find it odd how external candidates are often favoured over internal - there was a study in the HarvardBR that showed it takes up to 2 years to find out how a company works so regardless of how effective you were in a previous company the learning curve very frequently means that internal candidates are actually more cost effective.

DoubleMum · 16/01/2013 10:27

I'm doing this because I need to for health reasons, I am so overweight, and because I would like to experience being a non-fat adult. Also I find myself being unable to do stuff with the children and that's not fair.

Cooking a big vat of mushroom soup now. I've just discovered DH & the children have drunk my whole 4 pints of milk I got for me, they obviously didn't notice any difference to semi-skimmed. I know children need the 'good fat' but at what age does that stop does anyone know? My youngest is nearly 8. Just wondering if I can swap completely to skimmed.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 16/01/2013 10:32

Double From NHS Direct

Cows' milk: cows? milk doesn?t contain enough iron and other nutrients to meet young babies? needs. It shouldn?t be given as a drink to babies until they are 12 months old. Whole milk should be given to children until they are two years old, as they need the extra energy and vitamins it contains. Semi-skimmed milk can be introduced once your child is two years old, as long as they're a good eater and they have a varied diet. Skimmed and 1% milk are not suitable for children under five, as they don't contain enough calories. For convenience, lower-fat milks can be used in cooking from the age of one

So think you're fine to swop it out if they have a varied and balanced diet.

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 16/01/2013 10:33

And I love your goal. Will add to mine taking the boys rock climbing before the end of the year. I have never been able to lift my arse beyond a couple of metres because I'm too heavy.

DoubleMum · 16/01/2013 10:40

I think I'm too woosy to do rock climbing but yes physically being able to do it would be great.
Right, am only buying skimmed from now on

TeaMakesItAllPossible · 16/01/2013 10:42

put it in a different bottle if it's going to be a problem Wink

Lizzylou · 16/01/2013 10:43

Double, we have skimmed milk, my youngest is 6, nearly 7.

Getorf, hope you get what you want. Stop eating nothing all day then chips at night you muppet!

I am losing weight as I am almost 40 and I want to feel better about myself on holiday. Wear shorts without worrying about thigh splurge when I sit down etc. Also I know how much better I look, how much more confident I feel and how much easier exercise is when I am smaller.

WiseKneeHair · 16/01/2013 11:30

Morning chiefs.
Well done. You are a bunch of losers Grin
doublemum it still counts even if it's not official weigh day.
Getorf glad the interview is out of the way. I did a terrible interview when I got the job I have now, so I wouldn't give up hope.

My food processor arrived yesterday, so I made a batch of butternut suash soup which I've brought to work today. I had a training session in a fucking freezing portakabin this morning, so I'll need it to get warm again.

Herecomesbod · 16/01/2013 11:32

Tea the reason I'm determined to succeed is to be able to run around after my DC without feeling like a blob. They're aged 3 and 3 months at the moment, but as they get older I want to be able to set them a good example.

OK, that's the serious reason out of the way. The real reason is because I've slowly gone up a size each year since quitting smoking 5 years ago. I'm so sick of seeing all these lovely clothes in the shops and knowing I'll look shit in them .
