I have eaten 4 blueberry muffins all day Blush

Right, tomorrow must be better.

horseylady · 03/01/2013 18:10

To share with you all as were nearly a week in.

It takes;
4 weeks for you to notice any difference in your body
8 weeks for close family
12 weeks for the rest of the world!!

Keep going!! Xx

ValiumQueen · 03/01/2013 18:19

horsey very true.

Not a bad day here. After an awful night with almost no sleep, I could have eaten really badly. It helps that DH is on board. He is 1 week in and has lost 7lb so is very motivated. He is also doing most of the cooking.

Breakfast was musli
Lunch left over casserole from yesterday and a yoghurt
Dinner chicken and veg and rice with a spicy sauce.
I will have supper but not sure what

Highest calorie was breakfast. I plan to swap to something else once cereal used up. Likely porridge.

Silly me weighed myself this morning. No loss. Disappointed. As I say, silly me! It has been three days!

Today was not too bad...

Cereal for brekkie
Tuna sarnie and an apple for lunch
Shepherds pie and veg for tea

And troughed on tesco own prawn cocktail 'skip' crisps as the only dairy and soy free thing in reach when DS was being a klingon and I'd been waiting 2 hours for lunch Blush

crazypaving · 03/01/2013 18:50

vq he's lost 7lb??? men!!! Angry

MissMummy1 · 03/01/2013 18:53

Today hasnt gone well. Visitors turned up at brekkie time so I had a spoonfull of porridge. And then jaffa cakes for lunch Blush

Tomorrow will be better...

funchum8am · 03/01/2013 18:59

VQ and yellowwellies you have done brilliantly, well done! Am starving feeding DD here, so will go inhale enjoy leftover veg curry and dhal and a glass of red in a moment.

JollyGolightly · 03/01/2013 19:06

I've managed three proper meals today, and snacked only on fruit. This is a major achievement for me, I've found it really hard to et properly since ds2 arrived. I was a super-healthy eater before kids, need to rediscover it.

VisualiseAHorse · 03/01/2013 19:13

Sounds good to me yellowbelly!

Today:
Cereal for breakfast.
Peanutbutter on toast and a small chicken tikka pie for lunch
About to have a small portion of mac cheese for tea.

No snacking today!

Plus, two 30 minute walks and a Shred workout. My thighs hurt. My calves hurt. Everything hurts!

Evilwater · 03/01/2013 19:17

fail today!
I've eaten pealla, with is full of rice, and done no exercise. Sad
LO has had his jabs today, and was extremely grumpy and tired, he's only wanted to be on me. He's looking more himself, which is good.
I have a feeling ill be up all night.
Evil

applecrumple · 03/01/2013 19:27

Dd is teething which means a lot of fussing & her refusing to feed which means a harassed mum. Just as well I can't eat dairy or I'd be off down to Spar to purchase a large bar of dairy milk Hmm

ValiumQueen · 03/01/2013 19:29

I would like to be seeing more lovely vegetables being consumed ladies.

I am in bed trying to settle DS so my supper plans are scuppered.

crazypaving he is a fat bastard!

applecrumple · 03/01/2013 19:32

Horsey that's just depressed me!

Today I've had:

Porridge for brekkie,
Oatily choccy milk & small bowl of granola for snack
Small bowl of bean chilli & 2 slices of toast with almond butter
Pasta for tea
1 marshmallow & 1 apple
Oh & 1 rice cake with jam

60 min walk (including a very steep hill)

crazypaving · 03/01/2013 19:56

vq Grin

I'm logging everything as often as I can on myfitnesspal. apparently today, in spite of the jam incident, I've done well!

bowl of raisin wheats for breakfast
spiced lentil soup and toast for lunch
hot chocolate and jam mid-afternoon Blush
lamb moussaka for supper
plus a 50min walk with baby in sling through mud.

I seriously doubt I'll be this good tomorrow when I have both dcs to wrangle...

YellowWellies · 03/01/2013 20:00

Tomorrow I'm making what is affectionately known in our house as fart soup (homemade veg soup) roughly based on the cabbage soup diet but full of 5-8 different types of veg - a cauldron full to last us for a weeks lunches until we move house. You'll errr be able to smell that veg from the central belt VQ

YellowWellies · 03/01/2013 20:08

Just read this www.trueactivist.com/nine-foods-you-should-never-eat-again/ not feeling so bad that there are no dairy and soy free white breads :)

Prolificmincepiebreeder · 03/01/2013 20:11

I've eaten lots of veg today VQ and lots of water.
I need to sort breakfast out, that's my biggest problem.

Titsalinabumsquash · 03/01/2013 20:17

Not an awful day for me today, although after J screaming solidly all night we didn't wake up until 11am Blush

Muller light + banana for brekkie
2 slices of nimble toast with extra light cheese spread on + apple
Slimming world whole wheat egg 'fried' rice with lots of added mushrooms/peas/spring onions and prawns.

I need to start drinking more, J is sucking my body dry of everything atm (feels that way anyway!)

We're all feeling like pants today so no walking or anything for us.

yuletopian99 · 03/01/2013 20:44

Hi can i join? Ds1 (first dc) is a week old today, my uterus has done a major chunk of shrinking but am still squidgy round the tummy zone. When can i/did you start exercising again? Also have a demon hunger but want to make the most of bfing calorie burn while at the same time not compromising his nutrition.

Was 5'6" and a size 8-10 pre pregnancy, weighed 10st at that size as quite muscular and did lots of running. Was 12st 4 just before he was born but scales battery died so no idea what i weigh now although dress size more important than weight. Keen to go back to pre-pg stats asap...

ValiumQueen · 03/01/2013 21:00

yule congratulations, and welcome. I do however think you should go away again and come back in a few weeks. You have just had a baby, and any weight that is left over will be small from what you say. Concentrate on getting breast feeding established without putting more pressure on your body and mind! No exercise for six weeks except gentle walking.

YW DH makes fart soup too. Not that he needs any help in that department. He uses kale which makes it too slimy for me.

Why? Instant results don't last? Think about pregnancy. You gain slowly. You start to show slowly. I took photos every 4 weeks and to me the results are obvious. You are more aware of your body but big changes occur over time. You don't suddenly put on a stone without worrying about it !!

The 4 weeks is for putting on as well as losing. It's not that long really.

You'll notice results emotionally and mentally much sooner.

Stop saying bad days too!! Honestly look at the positives!!

And I second vq - fruit and veg!!!!!?

horseylady · 03/01/2013 21:12

Yule - you sound like me wanting tbidy to return!! My belly with little core work other than plank/walking/riding is ok. Your insides need to fill the void. My belly now is reasonably ok. Just needs toning!! I didn't really put on much weight and was really all bump. Gently walk and build up!!

CandyPop · 03/01/2013 21:18

Welcome yule, I agree with vq Ns think you should take it easy the next couple of weeks. The tiredness of a newborn will hit you and your body is still recovering . On the plus point, I put on over 3 stones during pregnancy and cost of bf , I lost 2 stones within 2 weeks and 7 weeks now with not really watching what I eat and not exercising, I have half a stone left to get to pre pregnancy weight. If you push the diet and exercise to early it may become counter productive

catbag I am in awe of your shopping budget ! Is it cheeky to ask for a typical weekly shop sample list?! Does your budget include all toiletries and household stuff? I am ashame to say that I spend in a week nearly as much as you spend in a month and there's only 2 of us plus baby who is being breastfed! Considering I'm now on sh1tty statutory maternity pay I should really rein in our seeking shopping spend.

Today I had:

Breakfast : granola (will have lower sugar cereal once this pack is finished)
Snack: actimel
Lunch : tereyaki chicken bento box (went out for lunch with a friend... It was huge... And a finished most of it Hmm )
Dinner: small bowl of left over beef stew

Exercise: 1hr walk

I need to drink more water which will be my aim 2mo. Also 2mo is my birthday and we are going for a steak dinner so will be super health during the day to allow for enormous meal at night !

GTbaby · 03/01/2013 21:46

Candy I'm with u on the Shock at catbag shopping budget!
Don't know if I could manage that! But really want to, guess if I cooked veggie curry every day n lentils I could actually. (I'm Indian, not a mad about Indian food person). But that is boring.
Actually maybe dinner for 35£ but lunch.... Hmm
