Welcome to thread 10 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. So forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry OH NO we're not!!! so come on in and start living your new life today!

Oh yes I do have hot chocolate. That's my drink of choice when out.

Drinking plenty of water will help with that water retention. Always thought that sounds backwards! But Tis true :)

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 27/10/2012 23:57

Ah BBB you have reminded me we are coming into hot Ribena season, thanks.

ppeatfruit · 28/10/2012 09:08

Yes (morning all btw. [hgrin]) In case i come over a bit puritanical and judgey; Iam aware of my faults Smile I LOVE hot chocolate, made with soya milk though, it gets much frothier than cows and doesn't bung me up .

I use a filter for water its cheaper than bottles and you don't get all the salt in it that some of the bottled waters have.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 28/10/2012 10:02

Ok I am going to try and keep a glass of water by the sink and persuade DH nor to keep rinsing it out!

ppeatfruit · 31/10/2012 08:26

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!!! [hgrin] [hgrin] [hgrin] morning All wakey wakey [hsmile] [hsmile]

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 31/10/2012 21:44

Hello pp you're very perky! [hsmile] I am tired from all the work! 12 hour shifts are shattering me. Weighed myself for first time in ages today. Still the same as when I got diffed! I find I can only eat small portions and of course I'm a lot more active now I'm back on the ward!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 01/11/2012 00:14

Well done faith! I am going to take the half-Ton of leftover trick or treat sweets to work tomorrow, it's raining here so not many visitors. The DCs got theirs done before the rain, luckily.

ppeatfruit · 01/11/2012 10:59

I was trying to get the thread movinghave Grin 12 hour shifts shouldn't be allowed for ANYONE IMO let alone if yr prg.ShockThe 1st 3 months are the most tiring time strangely.

Thedoc We've been living in between London and Fr. for 7 years now and last night was the FIRST Halloween in which trick or treaters called in Fr! I was soo happy (I always put out a pumpkin and candle too) Of course we had no sweets so they got a euro each lucky I had some!!Smile.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 01/11/2012 11:35

I thought I was going to be really hungry this morning as I ate on the run but am feeling fine. Off to get a glass of water as have had none yet today, only milk then coffee.

tb · 01/11/2012 14:01

Rabbits! (now I don't have to say 'hares' last thing at night)

ppeat I'd be really interested to know about the acupressure for the thyroid. Thank you for the offer.

I'm still managing to eat fairly slowly as I had to at the clinic - except the other day when not so 'd'd threw a strop at the table and my shoulders shot up about a foot. Although I didn't lose there, I've lost about a kg since I came home.

I'll be off again at the end of next to have my gall-bladder op. It's a bit scary - there's been no build up like there was with the only other op I've had. I only found I had the problem at the beginning of last month, last Friday I saw my gp, the surgeon Tues, and I'm booked in for the 11th with a prescription for fetching white stockings Grin Not my colour, pity they're not available in slimming black.

I found that it helps to have a couple of glasses of water with each meal - even breakfast. Means that wee stays a healthy 'pinot grigio' colour rather than unhealthy 'tawny port'. Also, if you don't drink enough, it stops you losing weight, as the body needs the liquid to excrete all the by-products of fat-burning else it stops doing it and goes on strike. Especially important anyway as many, if not most, offices etc are now air-conditioned which can cause or increase dehydration.

For hot drinks, I've got quite hooked on mint/verveine tea. Just looked it up, and it's verbena - even though it doesn't taste like lemon verbena. I've gone off coffee - even decaff as so often it has an over-boiled taste, even if it's fresh water in the kettle.

I spent this morning sorting out clothes for the clothes bank. I felt really good about chucking out a full length camel coat that I've never liked - even if I lose the weight I wouldn't want to wear it again, as it was never comfortable. I also pushed a shelving frame from one side to another to make room for sorting, so must have burned off at least a spoonful of yoghurt!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 01/11/2012 14:09

Well done on throwing out unloved coat!

ppeatfruit · 01/11/2012 18:04

tb It's good you've lost a Kg. I hate my scales being in Kg.s it means I have to TRY to translate into old money so I don't bother GrinI just go by my clothes and the mirror Grin.

solo and I have books by Stephen Chang who gives easy amazing acupressure exercises they have different names but mine is called Internal Healing. The thyroid one is also for double chins ! is -

Put the thumb and forefinger of the same hand IFYSWIM on either side of yr adam's apple press (VERY GENTLY TO START) for 10 secs. then massage for 5 secs,

Repeat the same movement STILL VERY GENTLY but under yr chin and at base of yr neck.

Repeat 3 times.

There is also a brilliant one to stop yr hair falling out and help yr gallblaadder Grin

You just place yr finger tips either side of yr centre parting and press for 10 and massage for 5.

Then place fingertips on either side of the of yr skull with yr thumbs pressing the base of the back of yr skull and spreading out above yr ears do the same movement. That one is incredible.

ppeatfruit · 03/11/2012 15:45

It's VERRRY quiet ain't it? tb BTW the name of my acupresssure book is

THE COMPLETE SYSTEM OF SELF HEALING INTERNAL EXERCISES

BY DR. STEPHEN T. CHANG

Solo where are you? her book has a different title but it's the same I think.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 03/11/2012 21:58

I did not have a free bacon roll today. I thought about it, because it was free, and smelt yummy, but I really was not hungry, so I didn't take one.

Got "pressured" into pudding at dinner with a friend, I know we are not supposed to combine food and booze and socialising but when time is short to socialise, it's hard not to! Any tips for not making someone else feel bad by turning down pudding or leaving some of your food? I didn't want the pudding, it was an "oh, go on then" moment. At least I left some of it.

ppeatfruit · 04/11/2012 10:18

Morning all Smile Thedoct i just tell my friends and DH or whomever that I'm on the P.M. where you have to stop eating when you're not hungry. They can blame P.M. not you Grin

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 04/11/2012 10:38

Yes I've had to work hard to resist the puddings when full. It gives me stomach ache so it's just not worth it! I just say 'I am far too full and I wouldn't want to spoil the meal by over-eating'. The more you practice, the easier that gets :)

ppeatfruit · 04/11/2012 11:27

Exactly Having the worst time I find is in restaurants esp. with puddings. In Fr. I either have a main course and pudding OR a starter and main course (so many restaurants do 3 course menus) and NEVER have bread 'cos it fills you up on nothing Grin the next worst is when i cook nice biscs. and cakes I HAVE to put them away and leave the kitchen and constantly remind myself I can have one later! also the tapping technique is good.

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 04/11/2012 11:33

Thanks both [smile ]

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 06/11/2012 00:19

Went to Zumba this evening. Made a right tit of myself but at least it was funny (and in a school hall so no mirrors, whoever thought mirrors and exercise were a good combo outside of the Royal Ballet School ).

ppeatfruit · 06/11/2012 08:03

Morning!! I thought about Zumba thedoc but after seeing a class on telly (it made my knees and thigh muscles ache just looking at it!!) decided a thought was enough Grin.I like free dancing to pop music before breakfast and my stretches and mufffin top busting crunches are plenty every day plus walking and getting in the wood for the fire (also piling it up).

IMO the mirrors are for small rooms to make them look bigger and reflect light.I went to the royal ballet but TBH there they're not much use apart for narcissists!

HavingALittleFaithBaby · 06/11/2012 08:48

I flipping luff Zumba! I think it depends on the class leader but mine was hilarious! :) I am looking into preggo yoga and aqua fit at present.

I am off to my 16 week appointment this morning! Time is flying!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 06/11/2012 08:53

Ooh, piling wood is probably really good for the waist.

I hate having to de-ice the car but love this sunny, wintry weather. Got an all day meeting so good practice on not having biscuits just cos they are there. Fingers crossed, maybe I will write out the PM rules on my pad before we start.

Good luck at your appointment, Faith.

SolosBigBangers · 06/11/2012 23:53

I want to know where time is going and where the added weight is coming from

ppeatfruit · 07/11/2012 07:31

HELLO Solo Grin Smile Did you have a nice half term? Added weight can be subtracted with a bit more of exercise and maybe subtracting wheat from yr diet Grin. DH is finally loosing by Food Combining (mind you he's had manflu Hmm and wants toast and eggs).

Solo · 08/11/2012 00:05

I was unwell for half term :( I had to drive for over 300 miles round trip for a funeral and my ME has flared up. I need to exercise, but can't begin to think of it whilst I'm in a relapse :(
