yes please FiddleDeFat Smile

1lb Down, which is great as I wobbled a bit last week.

More importantly I'm in the 10's - 10st 13lbs and a dress size 12. Down from 12st and a size 16.

MNP · 18/06/2012 19:33

Yeah NMP well done

Schnarkle · 18/06/2012 19:42

This is the longest I've ever stuck with a plan of any sort, foodwise. It's become second nature now looking for fat/protein / good carbs to eat.

In saying that I'm up 2 this week. I tend to bounce round a bit though and then go down again. So all's not lost.

BIWItheBold · 18/06/2012 20:40

NMP - that is fab! It's so lovely to be in smaller dress sizes, isn't it? It means so much more than just what the scales tell you.

OP posts:
mindgone · 18/06/2012 21:37

Well, am quite disheartened because I stuck to the plan and put on a pound! :( did have quite a few vodka and slimline tonics last night though! Blush

BIWItheBold · 18/06/2012 22:51

Well, that's not sticking to the plan, is it?! Grin

How long have you been doing it?

List out for me your meals over the last few days so I can see if there's anything obvious I can help you with.

And how much do you weigh/how tall are you?

doradoo · 19/06/2012 07:57

A pound up for me yesterday - due to a pizza/potato blow out on sunday, fortunately half of that gone this morning.

Off back to the UK for two weeks as of monday so need to have a good week before visits to rellies make it all go askew.

AngieAir · 19/06/2012 13:27

Stayed the same this week. Will have to be strict through the week as visiting friends on Saturday and will have to eat whatever they cook for me.

On the plus side, met a friend who I haven't seen for weeks and she said I was looking much slimmer :)

HumphreyCobbler · 19/06/2012 15:54

I am find it tough today - my legs feel like lead, and when I tried to go for a run it was SO hard I gave up half way and walked. Even that was a struggle tbh. Surely it is not normal to lose energy in this way? It is not like me to give up half way on a short run.

I had to fight my craving for an orange Grin

catinboots · 19/06/2012 16:40

I've just been for a run Humphrey

I feel ready for my bed now!

I bought some pre-cooked crayfish tails today. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do with them?

MsRinky · 19/06/2012 16:42

Ooh, I love crayfish. I had them last week mixed with a lemon and dill mayonnaise with avocado and cucumber salad.

NotMostPeople · 19/06/2012 16:47

I struggled with my energy levels when I went on a long bike ride yesterday. Prior to this WOE I'd have porridge and something high carb and I really missed it. I did a 25 mile ride that's quite easy, but I found it very tough. I wonder if we ought to have something carby? If so, what?

SpringGoddess · 19/06/2012 18:49

Went for a run on Sunday - legs were like lead, went for a run this morning and I got one of my best times ever - running is like that - you have a great run then a bad one even when you eat carbs.

BIWItheBold · 19/06/2012 20:06

All those of you exercising - what did you have to eat before you went for a run/bike ride?

Your body will transition from burning carbs to fat/protein - my trainer is an advocate of low carb, and i can't think he would be so if carbs were necessary. I would be worried about you all suddenly switching to something high carb.

Before I go to the gym, for a fairly brutal hour-long workout, I have either eggs (boiled) or full fat yoghurt, and that seems to do the trick.

Spreadsheet updated. And the weekly weigh-in awards, awarded weekly on a week by week basis are as follows:
Biggest Loser of the Week: leanbh21 with a staggering 10lb loss.
Biggest Loser to-date: my DH (again) with 27.2lbs
Biggest %age of bodyweight lost to-date: WillieWaggledagger with 13.3%

And collectively we have lost 29.5 stones.

Well done everbody!

mindgone · 19/06/2012 22:31

WOW Fiddle! Great numbers! Congratulations Leanbh21, Mr Fiddle and Willie!

Thanks BIWI, last week was week 3, I am 5' 9", and weigh 14st 8lbs. My goal is to get down to 13st, and see what I think then! Last week I only ate allowed foods, but maybe too many macadamias or a bit too much cheese on the odd occasion, or maybe that will be how my weight loss goes, two steps forward and one step back! am feeling quite determined now. But deep down, I think I don't quite "trust" this WOE! Probably because it goes against what we've been brainwashed with for years! Onwards and downwards now!

teaandthorazine · 19/06/2012 22:43

Oh god. I really need a massive kick up the backside.

The weekend wasn't bad, and today started off okay. Usual breakfast, then out to lunch with friends who are both pregnant so no booze. I eschewed the bread, the pizza, the pasta; had olives, chicken and pancetta salad, loads of fizzy water and mint tea.

And then a BLOODY PUDDING. Why? Felt awful, absolutely sick and bloated and gross. Came home and had to lie down for an hour. And then when I woke up I had Pringles, Jaffa cakes, chinese takeaway, red wine and two - count 'em! - TWO big slices of ds's birthday cake that I DON'T EVEN LIKE.

Fuck's sake, frankly. I am SO annoyed with myself. Two days ago I was 10stone 4, the lightest I have been for years. God knows what today has done to that.

The only positive is that I now have confirmation that sugar and wheat make me feel awful. Shame I can't stop eating them, eh? Hmm

teaandthorazine · 19/06/2012 22:44

Sorry, just realised this is the new weigh-in thread and I've ranted all over it Blush

Heartstart · 19/06/2012 23:20

Hi tea, passes Brew stay calm, don't beat yourself up and move on.

I can confirm weight loss this week -2 lb thanks fiddle for sorting spreadsheet

mindgone · 19/06/2012 23:22

Wow! You really blew out! That read like a scene from a comedy! All you can do is put it behind you now, what's done is done! What happens tomorrow is more important now!

FiddleDeFat · 19/06/2012 23:28

I think we've all done something similar at some point Tea. On the plus side, you now know how bad wheat and sugar make you feel. Call it an experiment, one where you've proved how much better this diet makes you feel.

Now drink some water, go to bed, and start again tomorrow. Smile

FiddleDeFat · 19/06/2012 23:30

Oh, and I've put you down at 10:4 on the spreadsheet. A few strict days and you'll be that again, I'm sure.

BIWItheBold · 20/06/2012 09:25

mindgone - just do a bit of reading around the whole subject and you will soon lose that suspicion. Dr John Briffa's book "Escape the Diet Trap" is particularly good, along with Gary Taube's Why We Get Fat.

If you really have a mind for it, read Gary Taube's The Diet Delusion as well. I promise you it will convince you about the need for us all to control carbs in our diets - and not just from the perspective of weight loss.

Tea - I'm going to c+p bits of your thread on this week's chat thread, as it proves exactly the point I was trying to make about cheating!
