Anyone else want to start again reinvigorate their diet?

Hello putyourhatonsweetie. Yes, non food treats are really good :)
I'm also now reading the labels and checking products for sugar. I couldn't believe when I read that coca-cola has 10,6 g of sugar per 100 ml so I understand in a bottle which is 500 ml there is 10.6 X5!!! I just put an empty bowl on my scales, clicked on 0 and started to feel it with sugar up to around 50 g and half of the bowl was filled with sugar. I've looked at it and I didn't fancy coca-cola... All these little bars which are supposed to be good like K bars with fruit (Special red K berry) in fact have more sugar than kit kat! Anyway, I'm into salads now. And I put honey in my coffee instead of sugar. I know honey has calories but sugar is worse. I also have nuts with coffee instead of chocolate. I just think little changes go a long way...
Wishing good luck to everyone :)

You're doing great friendly and so far I've had a really good week too. I find Monday - Thursday not too difficult, it's the weekends that can trip me up, but determined to see it through this week!

Oh, just bear in mind that nuts and seeds are really high fat (like you wouldn't believe!) so high calorie too. Just 100g of sunflower seeds is 500 cals Shock. You really do need to check those labels.

But nuts and seeds are good fat (and also full of protein) so really good for you. I tend to add a very small amount (about 5) of chopped nuts or teaspoon of pine nuts or sunflower seeds to my salads. I chop up a load of salad, add the nuts or seeds, about a tablespoon of very low fat dressing and mix it all up. It's enough for all four of us as a side salad and so nutritious. Like you say, hat, it tastes so flavoursome, like a delicious treat. Way, way better than a shop bought sad sandwich.

Hi putyourhatonsweetie, I'm sure we all do this from time to time. Don't worry, just start again and do what you can. That's what I do anyway. I've decided I can't give up too many things for ever so I'm just trying to cut out what I can and do light exercises like walking, dancing to some music, playing with the kids badminton... First thing in the morning is hot water and 40 minutes or so later some veg/fruit, salad/soup for lunch, normal dinner, trying to avoid biscuits although have 2 to 3 sometimes. Snacks-fruit, veg, nuts. I don't do calorie counting. Coffee/tea with honey. Occasionally porridge made with milk and honey, garlic bread, etc. Well, not ideal diet but I've lost 3 kg in 6 months so I think it is still slowly working. Today though I had roast chicken with Yorkshire pud, parsnips, carrots and sprouts followed by strawberries and raspberries for pudding and coffee with honey and nuts so as you can see, more than I should have had but I'll try to have fruit and veg for later. Tomorrow will start with water, then fruit, then lunch with home made soup (I'll use chicken and veg left overs from today) and then some normal dinner with the family. I'll be walking for around an hour or so. My task is to have a long-term realistic plan and have healthy eating and light exercises.
Wishing everyone good luck.

Thanks friendly, starting with avengeance (sp?) in the morning, dh and the kids away for a couple of days, giving me a chance to at least fit in some exercise and make a better start. 10 weeks til my trip to the UK, which feels like a good target. 10 kg in 10 weeks?
