That looks great biwi.

Got to agree about those 60g bags of macadamias, plus they only cost a quid (I saw the price those robbers at Holland and Barrett and ran off).

I haven't had a yoghurt in ages, think will have some with raspberries or rhubarb next week. Are cherries allowed?

OP posts:
BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 25/04/2012 15:44

Not really, KeepOrf - 11.5g carbs per 100g!

PostBellumBugsy · 25/04/2012 15:46

Still here. I'm not sure if I'm on this list, or the other one. I can't remember where I am anymore!!!!

Am losing the lbs I put on following my birthday weekend. Find re-losing weight very tedious - but still better that, than put it all back on.

Agree with those who say that it is best to think of this as a way of eating for the long term, rather than a diet or quick fix. Regardless of how painfully slow my weightloss is, I still feel so much better eating this way.

Round of applause to BIWI for keeping everyone motivated and GetOrf for her amazing calculations!

KeepOrfThemCarbs · 25/04/2012 15:46

Bugger!

Never mind. I am best away from sweet stuff anyway, as soon as I have anything mildly sugary it unleashes the dragon.

RadioSilence · 25/04/2012 15:56

The berries are back! Woo hoo!!

GreenEyesAndHam · 25/04/2012 15:59

Looks super duper BIWI

RadioSilence · 25/04/2012 16:09

BIWI- Is it too soon to add porridge back in? Another option for breakfast would be really welcome and it has been freezing lately so it has the added bonus of warming me up.

Twit · 25/04/2012 16:10

Soooo, because we've mostly been good can we I have a cookie with a cuppa at the weekend? Wink

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 25/04/2012 16:14

NO YOU CANNOT HAVE A COOKIE! AT ANY TIME!

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 25/04/2012 16:16

See? I loosen things up just a little, and now you're all wanting the moon.

Grin

Radio - I'm not a porridge fan at all, so I have no idea how many carbs there would be in a portion. My instinct would say 'no' - but do you know how many?

Twit · 25/04/2012 16:16
Grin OOOh BIWI, you're so masterful. Fine hmmph
BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 25/04/2012 16:19

Based on this site, I would have to say 'no'.

37.2g per portion is way too high for it to be a low carb breakfast.

Twit · 25/04/2012 16:19
ShirtyKnot · 25/04/2012 16:20

arf.

this last bit of the thread is hilarious.

slotrightin · 25/04/2012 16:24

Fell by the wayside at the weekend and still haven't managed to drag myself up, too much going on in RL at min, have made a committment to commence bootcamp again on Saturday, so is it ok if I stay on board even if I am way behind you all??

teaandthorazine · 25/04/2012 16:26

I'm still here btw! but I put on rather than lost over the weekend :unsurprised face: so I guess that's why you've got no results for meee?

anyway, don't forget blueberries, lush and low carb. a blob of total yog isn't complete without them.

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 25/04/2012 16:28

tea - I can't find a carb count for blueberries. I can only get American sites when I Google, and I'm not quite sure how to work the carbs out from their carb counters. I know you take the fibre off - but doing that, the count was still alarmingly high (and much higher than I expected, as I had always thought they were low carb).

Do you have an accurate figure?

slotrightin - you are more than welcome!

RadioSilence · 25/04/2012 16:43

I see what you mean about porridge. I was going to make it with water then add a splash of double cream and some fruit and nuts but even doing that , rather than making it with milk as per your link, still makes it quite high.

RadioSilence · 25/04/2012 16:46

Re blueberries I found this on My Fitness Pal

RadioSilence · 25/04/2012 16:53

The formatting went all odd but basically they are 14g of carbs per 100g. Are they on the list or can they not come in?

BIWIWhoMustBeObeyed · 25/04/2012 16:53

... so it looks like they are 12g carbs per 100g - that's actually pretty high.

vnmum · 25/04/2012 17:01

for those wanting to introduce yoghurt, Lidl do a gorgeous full fat greek one. I am sure it is lower carb than Total and tastes so creamy. It comes in a bucket and is alot cheaper too.

BIWI I never knew cashews were so high in carbs. Here I was thinking you could have any nuts on a low carb plan.

I made the mistake of buying blueberries a while back then realised how high in carbs they were. They are sweet after all so I suppose it's no surprise really.

prettybird · 25/04/2012 17:02

100g of blueberries is actually quite a lot of blueberries - a whole wee punnet. If you're just scattering a few on porridge or yoghurt, then it would be much less than that.

FourThousandHoles · 25/04/2012 17:10

marking place as I have to go feed the small ones now but I need to post weight loss and add myself back to the list - I have no idea what my % weight loss is so will have to come up with A Spreadsheet too Grin

teaandthorazine · 25/04/2012 17:10

Hmmmm, interesting re. blueberries. Must admit I've always just gone by IPD which says 'all the berries' are fine after phase 1 and has a recipe for blueberry muffins, so... I suppose they might be denser than raspberries/strawberries so you get more carbs for the weight.
